Sooo ... did she give birth?! or did she BRING the baby with her?

Because if she gave birth ... well, THAT is dedication.

Ha! I was thinking this was about running too!
Why would someone think that a 2yo kid could sit still for that long - even with breaks in between? Heck, I don't even think I could get my 11yo to sit still for that long.

I was confused at first too, thinking you were talking about a marathon race.

How irritating that someone would bring a small child to those movies..unless maybe parents are switching duty and needed to meet there? Hope the little guy isn't having to actually stay there the whole time.

I won't be able to see Breaking Dawn P2 until after Thanksgiving...will you message me what the surprise ending is? I'm dying to know what it is and will be trying to find spoilers on the internet

Lol! Well, I'm glad the peas were able to figure it out- I was confused!

That would irritate me too. When we went to see Skyfall on Monday, there was a couple there with an infant and a 5 year old. The 5 year old being there really irked me- a totally inappropriate movie for that age, IMO.

Um....wrong! My mother, who is 64, loves, loves, loves Robert Pattinson, Patterson, whatever. If she could physically, she would so be there for a marathon. Did I mention she loves one of the lead characters?

I understood the thread title, but I was looking at showtimes yesterday and saw the Twilight Marathon available.

I'm a bit jealous of people who have the time to go. I would love a relaxing movie day. The kid running wild would really ruin it.

another 'giving birth during Boston marathon' interpretation here also.

Then I was like, "an indoor marathon? How the hell are they running a marathon indoors?"

If the baby wasn't bothering anyone, who cares. He's running in the hallways? So?

I'd be upset if he was ruining the movies, but I hardly think that content would be damaging to a toddler so as long as he wasn't causing a ruckus I wouldn't care.

Do *you* run willy, nilly through the lobby of a movie theater? If not, why should your child.

And that's a perfect reason why he shouldn't be there. Because the theater is intended for people who can sit in their seats and pay attention...not for kids to run wild. That's what a park is for.

^^^^^ +1 from me.

And I initially thought the OP meant that someone gave birth at a Marathon gas station, and couldn't figure out why that was such an asshole-ish thing to do, lol!! (but that's because I just heard a news story about someone who couldn't make it to the hospital in time, gave birth at a Shell station, and used 'Shell' as the baby's middle name... )

Were we at the same theater? lol A mom came in ours with two under 5's and a 9 year old. The youngest was a noisy eater (nursing) and the usher asked the mom to leave the theater. Obviously, he should have been more clear on who had to leave because she took the youngest out and left the other two kids.

They had better behave...

I took my DGD who is 8 to the one before this one and she was really good, didn't talk, fidget, whine or anything...

Ugh. That is such a huge pet peeve of mine. Seriously is it THAT hard to get a babysitter OR if you can't afford one, wait until it comes out in Redbox? When we saw The Dark Knight a few years ago there were tons of little kids in theater and I was mortified that they were watching that movie AND that they were taking away from my experience as well. And FWIW, I'm a mom with 4 young kids and I would never subject other movie goers to their typical kid behavior in a movie that is in no way geared to young kids.

Little children do not belong in certain environments. Running in hallways is not behaviour I find acceptable at home or out in public.

Chalk me up as another who thought you meant a race. I couldn't understand what was so awful about bringing a baby to watch a race.

I was thinking:

"Was it pouring?"
"Was it freezing?"
"Was it actually a runner in the race who had a baby with them?!?!?!"

I haven't been paying close attention because the series didn't do much for me, but wasn't the latest Twilight movie initially rated R because you can only kill vampires by ripping their heads off? So they got it down to PG-13 by taking out some of the crunching/ripping sounds?
