How do you end up scrapping your holiday photos? Do you end up with more than one layout/spread? Do you make an entire album after-the-fact? How do YOU scrap the holidays?

If I have good pictures, I'll make a layout or two. Our Christmases are pretty low key so there's not a whole lot to capture during the month.

In the past, I've always just done a couple of layouts for Christmastime. The past couple years, though, we seem to do more during that time of year. This is why I've decided to start a DD. Also, in previous years, I've never documented our traditions. I hope to incorporate them in the DD. |

I have a Christmas album. Multiple layouts for prep, visiting family, the big day, etc. Although i have young kids and each year is more and more pages so my album is covering fewer years each year. So far it is working for me.

I usually do a few layouts - a Christmas Eve layout, a Christmas Day layout and sometimes a layout featuring everyone with their favorite gifts. I think that will be fun to look at years from now. I usually do these layouts whether or not I do a December daily album.
I think a daily album is a good way to get a daily life "snapshot", but I use my layouts to give a "full" look at the holidays - plus it helps justify the scrapbook store worth of holiday paper and supplies I own.

I have a on-going Christmas album that I add to every year. I only scrap actual Christmas photos though. Anything else to do with the holiday and/or New Year's just goes in our family album. |

We don't have kids, so there's a lot less going on at Christmas time than in many families -- also, we hold back a bit on the celebrating during Advent, so a December Daily isn't really our style. My family also aren't "picture people," so we don't even generally take pictures on Christmas Day now that there are no children in the family.
So I just do a layout or so for what I do have pictures of.
For last year -- I have Disney Christmas shots of my husband and I. Then I have some stuff of our decorations because it was our first Christmas season in the new house -- although we went to see family for Christmas itself. |

I don't do a "December Daily" but I do make a separate holiday album every year. I do mine differently each year...changing the sizes and styles of albums (8x8, 8 1/2 x 11, 3 ring, word album, acrylic album, etc) and some years I do a "theme" (one year all page titles were Christmas songs, one year focused mainly on our holiday traditions, etc). I usually wait until after the holidays, then go through all my photos, pick a bunch to print, and then decide how I'm going to put the album together. |

I also have an on-going Christmas album. I put all our Christmas-related pictures into it, too, though. So Holiday Programs at school, cookie decorating, gingerbread houses, decorating, wrapping... It all goes in there. |

I just scrap my December activities like I would, say, my summer activities. Yes, I end up with multiple layouts, but I don't really care.
I usually have several layouts for an annual Sisters Weekend up north, Christmas tree picking out and trimming, Christmas Eve and Christmas day.
I end up with a lot of layouts, but I don't care. I'm more of an event scrapper so it doesn't bother me that I have layouts for the same events every year (like birthdays and Easter and 4th of July) - these events happen every year and there is usually something a bit different each year to document.
The exception is that I do have a separate album for my "Christmas card photos from Friends and Family" pictures, an idea a borrowed from Nichol M. |

Mine is not "daily" this year. Still a mini, but not a daily. I have failed twice at the DD project. This year, I have cut down the size of my album from 8x8 to 6x6, went with chipboard pages instead of protectors, and removed the whole "numbering 1 to 25" from my thinking. I will simply take the photos that really inspire me, do a little (or a lot) of journaling, slap it into my album, and cover it with as much embellishment as I choose.
I will also make REALLY sure to have all those photos backed up, in case this year's new cavalier attitude ends up offending the neurotic nutball in me. |

The same here. I take pics of the kids decorating the tree and Christmas morning. We don't have much going on. We don't have any family. Maybe if we do something in there that we normally don't do, I may scrap that as well.

Before I did DD I ended up with several layouts for the holidays, typically for:
-getting and/or decorating the tree
-holiday baking with family
-Christmas eve
-Christmas day
Last year I had two extra LOs:
-holiday chow all about the food
-elf on the shelf
Now I am just going to include all that and more in my DD. |
I am a project lifer. That's why I am taking so many pictures.....

Same way I scrap all my other photos. Get what I can onto a page. More layouts if necessary, but I try to condense as much as I can.
I don't do separate theme albums with the exception of my wedding/anniversary. And someday I'll try and get a family heritage album started. |

I have a Christmas album and basically just add the tons of photos that I take. I like using the photo sleeves that hold 6 pictures. I do the journaling separate and print it out on a 8.5x11 sheet of cardstock. I also make some layouts for my favorite Christmas moments.

My LOs go into my year album. Usually they cover getting the tree, decorating the tree, making cookies, an open house we hold & there are at least 2 for Christmas day itself, our house in the morning, my MILs later in the day.
Over the years Ive done them different ways. Sometimes I do them all on the same line of paper so you can tell they go together and other years I've dome them on whatever I feel matches the photos. It just depends on how I feel the day I'm working on them. I think how much I love the paper line plays into it too.

Last year, I had quite a few December events to scrap, and because there also had been many occasions in 2011 that required (in my way of doing things) multiple 2-page spread LOs, I ended up with enough layouts to split evenly between two binder style scrapbooks, both of which have more than 60 pages.
This year, perhaps because I'm doing a theme album about my city, I got to just over 60 pages at the end of October in the regular book and haven't put any in since. So I will probably put Thanksgiving through New Year's Eve into one new post-bound scrapbook. |

When I planned my DD for 2010, I started the day after Thanksgiving and ended the day after New Year's Eve. It was/is a 8x8 album (unfinished). that was alot of days and alot of pages. If I just do individual events like I have most years, I have many pages, but less than my Dec. Daily and I put them all in one Christmas album. |

I just create a two-page layout for each Christmas. All my Christmas LOs go into my Christmas album. I don't create mini ablums for individual Christmases.

I have an 8 1/2x 11 Christmas album that has layouts from as early as 1986. Some years it has multi pages, some years just has two: our Christmas letter & card and our family photo by the tree. ( I love having something from year after year all together in one place)
My regular (12x12) scrap book albums have one to several Cmas pages, depending on the story I want to tell.
Instead of DD I have a Journal from Journals Unlimited
It goes from 1999 thru (eventually) 2023. I love it! Of course I *had* to jazz up the cove, tie a zillion ribbons to it and add a calendar/grid page to each year. |

I have a family CHristmas album (well 3, since I've done every year since 1996). I do 5-7 LOs about the Christmas season (double page morning spread and others about outings, decorations, food, cards received, etc).
I also do spreads for the boys' albums. |

The idea of a dd seems kind of fun, but I could never keep up! . I do have a Christmas album that I put all of our Christmas pictures in. We get with my dh family twice, since his parents are divorced. We do Christmas eve with his mom and the weekend before with his dad. He has a big family so there is alot of us. I also include decorating the tree, some baking, Christmas morning, then celebrating with my family on Christmas day. Since I have 3 dd's I tend to get a lot of pictures of them. We all like looking through the albums and seeing how everyone has changed over the years.
