I enjoy seeing "lighter side" pictures of Presidents. Some of my favorites are pictures of JFK with his kids. Like this one:
So much of what we associate with Kennedy now is so skeevy, it's nice to remember that he was a father who loved his kids. |

No, I didn't specify because the whole point of the thread was for ALL of us to have a fun look at the softer side of our Presidents. But go figure. When people are constantly cynical, it reveals far more about their character than it does those whom they are suspicious of.
Up until that last post of JFK, I was the only one who posted, and in addition to the GWB pics, I also posted a couple of President Clinton. I'd have posted more, but in the time I've devoted to it, google searches have yeilded a disappointing amount of pics of presidents any further back than Clinton. Maybe I need to refine my search, but so far, no luck. Oh, well. I'm still hopeful that others will post their favorites. Maybe the thread can be redeemed. |

I know, there's just not many photos online for the older Presidents. It's disappointing. Sometimes it seems like nothing existed before the digital age!  |

Mystie, I love the picture of President Reagan and Nancy. They had the most wonderful relationship. I read a compilation of letters he'd written her. I think it was called "Love, Ronny". I was so moved by how he loved her and how he took the time to tangibly record his deep feelings for her. I bought a copy for each of my daughters and said that any guy who wished to marry them would have to read that book first. Sadly, those copies got lost in a move.
And remembering this, I think I just came up with an idea for my daughters for Christmas this year. Off to amazon and ebay to see if I can hunt some down..... |

I love the last one of Clinton where he's running / dancing with the big group of kids. The kid in front has the best expression on his face.... like, "I'm totally beating you, neener neener neener... I don't care who you are I am going to WIN!"
My 4 yo would be the same way!
