Cricut Craft Room - Can I use my cartridges there without linking them???

Can someone please shed some light. I have searched everywhere for the answer but I just don't get it.

I need to know if I can actually use one of my cartridges in the Cricut Craft Room and design accordingly without actually linking my cartridge to the craft room?

So basically I am trying to determine if the CCR will find and let me use my cartridge without linking to anything?

Yes. You will need to insert it in the machine when prompted.
