Not sure if you will be okay with a refurbished one but Epson has them for $109 and they carry the same 1 year warranty as the new ones. I got a refurb one and it prints beautifully! free shipping too and if you register on their site - you'll get an email pretty quick - within a few minutes for 10-15% off total purchase, so do that before / if you buy. Thanks for the info on the printer and on the discount when one signs up.

I have been debating between this printer and the Canon Selphy, which I have had before.

The Selphy, new, is down to $69.99 now and the paper/ink combo for 108 prints is $34.99. Free shipping.

It is a much smaller printer and seems to have the same features. But, I have heard a lot of good things about the Charm.

Has anyone used both of these and compared them?

Heidi, off-topic, but I wanted to say I love the apothecary cabinet you made. I just checked out your blog and enjoyed seeing how you put that, and the sailboat, together. Fun!

Scrappinbetty the Selphy only prints glossy. I'd be all over it otherwise.

Desflo, thanks for that info.

I do prefer the matte finish, but not sure if that's a big enough deal to trade for the larger size printer. Hmmm...

Thanks steph I am still loving my apothecary. It's so much easier to find stuff. My husband can even locate things he needs. I haven't updated my blog in so long! I apologize. It's been a long year for me health wise.

I ordered the selphy on HSN 3x flex pay. I have long periods where I don't use my printer and the ink heads clogging hasn't been resolved on the new Charm (I have the first picturemate still).

Also the selphy has wifi and I want to use this for dec daily and maybe other pocket pages soon so that was the only option.

Since I got it from HSN and they are offering returns till jan 31st I can try it out for a couple months and see if I like it or not. maybe epson will put wifi in the Charm next year and I won't have to choose between that and the print quality.

Heidi, Sorry to hear about the health problems. I do hope this coming year is better in that regard. Honestly, I hadn't notice the blog was not up to date! But then, I am way behind on posting on mine too.

Thanks for sharing your reasons for choosing the Selphy. I am leaning that way, mostly because we used one (older model) when we traveled and we were very happy with it. Plus, I have tons of paper/ink packs leftover. I need to verify that they will work with this newer model. If they will, that would save me a ton of money and would enable me to print quite a few pix before I'll have to buy supplies.

I do like that the printer can be used without a cable, prints from iOS and Android devices (we have one of each in our home), and can operate on a battery (although the battery and charger cost almost as much as the printer so I'm not sure I'll purchase that right away).

Please let us know how you like the Selphy when you have a chance to play with it a bit. Happy printing!

scrappinbetty - where are you seeing the selphy 900 for 70 bucks? That is a great deal. And the 108 paper packs are always under 30 dollars on Amazon.

Doing much better Steph (I have lost almost 120lbs so that has helped LOL)

Same here. That was the big issue for me.

Erika I am taking this class LOL in order to print "wirelessly" the printer needs to be hooked up to a desktop. We no longer have a desktop to dedicate to this as we use it for a drive on our TV (and don't leave it running 24/7). The PC that the picturemate is connected to needs to be running in order for the "wireless" to print. The selphy is the only wifi built in printer option (between those two). Also picturemate DOES make a Bluetooth adapter but they are not being allowed by apple to enable iPhone/pad printing. One review I read said a woman bought the Bluetooth directly from epson and they refused to allow her to return it because it was a "known issue" (and apparently disclosed somewhere on their website though the woman said she scoured it looking before making the purchase).

Oh gotcha! Not "wirelessly" technically, LOL

Still good info for those who do have the printer near a computer. I've had a Picturemate for a long time and never knew til I read from Jessica that I could've been printing from my iPhone. I was thrilled! This will really help me stay on track with Project Life next year.

Thought others who are printer shopping might want to know
