What do they post about? How often? What are your favorite types of posts?

Yes, they do.
They post a few times a week.
Most posts are about card classes -- and they are not my taste or style at all.
Occasionally they post a photo of a new box of supplies. But more often will post the new stamps they have in.

As a scrapbooker, I would LOVE to see better images of new arrivals. Or even just a nice shot of part of the store display. Something that will temp me to come into the store. As it stands now, I only go about once ever couple of months, because it is a 45 min drive and so hard to justify going all that way. Cute images coloured with markers do nothing to make me want to shop.

My LSS has a blog. I try to check it every few days. They post about new items in the store and different events that is happening at the store. They also have a calendar of events to the side. It helps me know what is going on and helps me not miss anything!

The only LSS that is close is very new, small, and focused on cards, stamping, and projects while I'm strictly a scrapper ... so I won't use them as an example, lol.

But if I did have an LSS, I would want them to do entries the way Scrapbook Generation does. They do quick posts about new kits, classes, sales, and new product WITH photos.

I mean, does this make you want to come in and shop or what?

I also wouldn't mind learning more about the owners, workers, DT, and even regular customers. Maybe once a month post a photo and quick interview. When you go into the LSS, you would feel like you "know" people - makes it more personal.

My lss has a blog, but sadly I never think to check it. It seems to be mostly about classes and I haven't found a class I want to take there for quite awhile.

Apparently my LSS does have a blog, I had no idea.

Creative Paper Arts

From what I can see they post almost daily - new products, class schedules, and lots of cool tutorials.

I follow them on Facebook so I get most of my info there, but I'll be checking out their blog now, too.

journeyfan, you made my day/week/month! Thanks for the shout-out about Scrapbook Generation's blog. So nice to be used as a good example!

I've always been thankful that my first career was good training for my second and the kinds of publicity I would need be able to do.

The blog for my LSS is their website. So because of that they post quite often. They post when they get new products, new classes, crops, Etc.

Mine does (along with a facebook page) and they rarely post to either. I don't understand it. Social media is where it's at and a good chunk of it is free (facebook & blogspot anyway). If you want me to come in and spend $, tempt me & convince me to make the trip by Telling me about the classes, products you got in etc.

If they have one, I do not know about it. They are pretty tech-light, so I would be surprised, but pleasantly so.

The one that closed did. I loved it and got to guest post as a DT member. Ahh yes. Those were the days.

An LSS should have a blog and a Facebook page.

My LSS has a blog, but they are so inconsistent with posting that I rarely check it.

I had the pleasure of shopping there this weekend. I have to say the store is HUGE. I all the samples they had throughout the store. Some amazing talent.

Oh, I did do a little bit of shopping.

It's not 'my' lss but my mom's store. I follow it and then can call my mom on any deals. Their blog is their website and they keep it up great along with Facebook and weekly (if not more) emails.. (but not annoying.. just enough!!) I think the Facebook page is more current.
