No one has mentioned James Spader!

When I read that I was like "James Spader? Who was James Spader?" Not being able to get to IMBD easily, I worked through the various characters that I could to mind and finally it hit me. "THAT WAS JAMES SPADER???" I knew I knew who he was but during the movie could not place him to save my life. He was especially good too

For me, the clincher for seeing this movie was the line in the Entertainment Weekly review that called a "19th century version of The West Wing." Ummm...there was no way I wasn't going to see it after reading that! LOL!

The story telling by Lincoln was probably my favorite part of the movie. I am sorely lacking in certain areas of my education and this was one of them. I didn't really know this about him. I think including this in the movie was an excellent way to give us the *human* that was Lincoln. Not just this "mythical" person that many view him as in our day and age.

I liked it. It was long, but worthwhile to watch once.

I absolutely loved this movie.

I think Daniel Day Lewis was perfect. We knew Lincoln had a strange gait, but it I haven't ever seen it described beyond "strange". But for DDL to "create" a gait was amazing.

The scene near the end with him walking down the hall of the White House - I cried.

It was beautiful and moving and touching and funny ("Coughsnot" ) and educational.

I wanted to clap at the end

Our whole theater stood up and clapped at the end. It was a very moving experience.

Sally Field WAS Mary Todd - she was transformed.

Loved it!!!!!!!!

My youngest DS loves Lincoln. Took both of my boys on Saturday to see it and we all loved it!

DDL did an amazing job but I also think Tommy Lee Jones was BRILLIANT! James Spader

I was completly enthralled! Loved all the actors - DDL is usually so scary in his movies!
I think the ending sucked, though. Spielberg should have stopped when Lincoln walked out of the WH door. If he had only asked ME!

We went to go see Lincoln last night. It was wonderful and Daniel Day Lewis was captivating in the role of Lincoln. It was the first movie I have been to where the audience stood and applauded at the end!

The link lists the actors and what characters they played. I wish I would of seen this before I saw the movie. I was a little confused who was who in the movie.
