I am running out of room and thought about putting some food storage totes in a big rubbermaid tote on my deck for the evening. Does anyone know of a reason this would not be a good idea??

Thanks

50 degrees is not cold enough. Food needs to be safely stored/chilled around 41*. You will feel awful if you gave people food poisoning on Thanksgiving. Do you have a cooler that you can put ice in and put the rubbermaid stuff in there?

That's not cold enough for anything over two hours.

Because raccoons are clever little rodents and could probably get the lid off that rubbermaid tote?

I think it would be OK for some foods. I wouldn't put anything with meat, dairy, eggs...but I wouldn't have a problem with putting veggies outside. The lid could be secured to keep smart critters out.

I always put all kinds of things out in my garage - we call it the 2nd fridge. Good luck!

Sorry, but 50° is not cold enough to safely store food overnight.

Oooo, do it! It'll be perfectly fine! Plus, we could use another Thanksgiving disaster thread. The 'I HAVE NOT TURKEYYYYYYYY!!!!' thread is getting kind of old.
