I hate to say it, but I have a love-hate relationship with my Slice. I have one of the original ones from a few years ago, I know there newer versions. I never got the hang of getting it to cut through cardstock, so I can only use it with pp. Not a HUGE issue, but it limits how much utility I get from it somewhat. However, I don't want to spend hundreds of dollars on letter stickers nor do I want to take the time to stamp every single title, so I stick with it.

Exacto knifes + me = Disaster!!!!!
I apparently do not know my own strength and just break the blades off never finishing the cut.

Me too!! And yes I have had it punch through cardstock. I use the small pink mat made for it. Need a longer one so I don't have to scooch it around.

Wow, I LOVE my Sew Easy! The trick is to use it over a Coluzzle mat.

Have you ever gotten it to poke through cardstock (or even double-sided pp)?

I love my sew easy! I've only just got it and it does have a lurning curve but I love it! I've got it working on Cardstock, PP, printer paper. I use it mostly on Cardstock though.

I don't use stickers really anymore. I have them, don't use them.

Design Girl,
Those are one the ones that inspired me to write this thread.

KBpea I hear ya!
That is all I have right now. My Elite broke and I had to send it to repair. Saturday, I only had the bazzil cardstock in a certain green for my layout, so I had to change my whole design cuz I knew my regular slice was NOT going to handle it. I was one of the lucky ones that got the Ms sales for the design card and the 40% sale off the Elite. plus my mommy had bought so many Design cards that I have to stick with it. That thing is going to have to release smoke before I quit on it.

I loathe and detest my Crop-O-Dile! HATE.THAT.THING I bit the bullet and bought one several years ago because it seemed everyone was going to one of them. I've watched tutorials, read the directions a hundred times and just keep moving it from place to place in my craft room. Maybe I'll accidentally knock it off my craft table into the trash can. Give me my noisy hammer and setter!

I'm glad I'm not the only one! I got a good deal on my Slice and all the accessories and cards I have for it (which is only about four), so I don't feel bad about it, I just don't love it. It is still probably the most practical die cutting machine for me because of the amount of space it takes up. I just wish I could get it to cut cardstock!

I was another one who screamed at my ATG gun. Had my DH try to see why the tape kept coming off and he broke it! Ran to M's and got the pink gun and I love it! I think I must have gotten a defective gun! Now it's the chipboard Thickers---darn adhesive---you'd thinks they would come up with a better adhesive.

I have a pink ATG and it drives me insane. I can rarely get the tape to break off cleanly and then it snaps back up into the gun and starts pulling the rest of the adhesive away from the tape! Argh!!! Maybe someone has some suggestions as to what I might be doing wrong...

Besskin - you need to release the trigger but continue pulling the gun across the paper. Just let go as you get to the end of the line of adhesive but keep pressure against the paper for another centimeter or so. It "rubs" the adhesive in half.
Not that I never have trouble with mine, but I don't usually have the issue you are having!
