On a thread last week a pea mentioned that she wraps presents from Santa for child #1 in solid green wrapping paper, and presents from Santa for child #2 in solid red paper. I thought that was so clever and decided to totally steal the idea.

Of course, now I've started looking I can't find solid-colored wrapping paper anywhere!

I've only looked at a couple of places, but I was hoping the peas could save me some driving around. Where can I find plain red and green (and silver and gold) wrapping paper?

The two places that come to mind is Hobby Lobby or Container Store. Have you tried either of them?

Container Store has some tone on tone papers which are cute. They also have wood grain!

I can save you from ANY driving around; this place has solids & metallics. A 100' roll starts at $23 or so. HTH

I think Target does. You may want to look in the birthday party area instead of with the Christmas paper. They may have solids over there. HTH!

I've bought some at HL or Nobbies. Or you can check one of those party/card discount stores. They usually have solid colors.

I'm so sorry I posted this here- meant to put it in NSBR. But thanks for the hints. I struck out at Kohls (knew that was a long shot, anyway) and WalMart, so I'll try HL tomorrow.

Our Hobby Lobby didn't have any totally solid colors when I checked last week. But, they had tone on tone solids...so a green with a slightly shiny green pattern, same for the red.

Party city has a ton of solid colored wrapping paper all kinds! Not sure if you have a party city near you but check your party store they should have it! Also I really like that idea it's pretty neat! You could also do two different prints say one with green and red print for one child and the other with blue and white and so on!

A lady I used to work with wrapped all of her gifts in white paper. Different members of the family got different colored ribbons on their packages.

One year she used kraft wrapping paper. If you can't find the colored paper, ribbons wouldn't be that hard to find. HTH

I've bought solid colors at xpedx (not sure how common they are, but if there's one near you, you could check it out)! Good luck!

You can find it at Target and sometimes at IKEA. I have bought the plain Kraft paper at IKEA and then dress it up with stamps or ribbons.

We have used a different paper (color and/or pattern) for each of our kids (and grandkids) for years. It makes it very easy to identify whose gifts are whose (no tags necessary) and since we have to ship the gifts to some of the kids, we simply add a scrap of each type of paper with the name on it as a key so they know which paper belongs to which person. The kids look forward to seeing what color/pattern we have picked for each of them!

santa doesn't wrap at all here, but an idea for you is this, i've seen where you can get wrapping paper that has the child's name printed all over it! loved it, but never got into it!

santa sets it all up while the kids are sleeping here... so for instance, my 6 year old will wake up with a keyboard set up on the stand, plugged in playing music via the auto feature... and my 9 year old will find a guitar set up with her new kindle... I know, nothing fancy for the oldest, but her's doesn't have an auto feature...

I actually buy solids colors at the after xmas sales every year to use year round! I usually find it at Michaels, Sears and Target.
