I had some gcs and have so many prints that my mom sent me so I figured it was time. I'm sick of how long it takes to scan and save something on my computer. Any tips or hints? What dpi do you use? |

You'll love it! I use the highest dpi so my prints will be sharp.
It's super-easy to use. Have fun! |

Yep easy and convenient. I like using mine to scan photos when I visit relatives or friends. |

thanks! I scanned about 55 prints in 10 minutes. I did use the 300 dpi (that was the default, I guess) but I might redo them at the higher dpi after I get all of my other prints scanned. I have a lot-I didn't get a digital camera until around 2001 so I have at least 6 yrs worth of baby pics. |

I would set it to the highest resolution (two stars).
I also keep a piece of felt near by to keep the glass clean. It is easy to get finger prints on the glass.
Have fun...it is super easy and fast!!

You should go for it! I've had this thing in my amazon cart for over a year and the price has stayed steady. I've done countless searches for better deals and never found any. If you find a sale, I would take advantage. |

I got an email for $55.00 off on it, but I bought one last March and I've been too afraid to try it. I might have to jump in.

Yeah, I'll google soon, but Peas can tell me how they really use it.
is it related to a Flip Video camera?

I agree... I see it's a scanner?? Is it just a fast way to scan pics? I don't know if I have enough old prints to justify the price |

Pretty much. On my computer I have to open a program to scan (usually I use pse), lean over and put pictures on the scanner (it's in the corner and not easy to reach), scan, crop, save (and rename in the process) and repeat. With this scanner I can get comfy on the couch with a box of photos and watch a tv show while I scan away. It automatically saves everything on an sd card which I can then put in my computer and transfer the pics to my HD. |

I love my Flip Pal! The only issues I have with it are organizing the photos before I scan so that they fall into folders logically when I transfer them to my computer. I have pictures from the 1940's (not so many) thru 2003 when I got my first home digital camera.
Getting the orientation correct took me a bunch of pictures, too.
Have fun and come up with a good way to document which ones are already scanned so you don't do like I did and scan duplicate photos just because they were there. |

I always seem to have a stack to drawings and papers waiting to scan. This looks like it would be good for those too, love the idea of the SD card.
Might be good for receipts?
