I have been thinking about getting an Ott light-now that I have a little one, most of my scrapping is done at night...and we have horrible lighting. I see they are on super sale at J's. Will I regret getting the one that doesn't have the adjustable neck/arm part? Trying to decide between the $19 and $29 version... TIA

My advice is to get the brightest one you can afford...
I have a flex neck desk one and then I have an Ottlite bulb in my regular desk lamp also.
I wish I had spent the extra and got a tall floor one that would shine on my whole table.

I love my Ott light. I have the desk version. The arm can go up and down and the actual head where the light is can also be adjusted. It is the best investment I have made since I started scrapbooking!!!

Love, Love, Love, my ott light....I want another one that's bigger. The one I have now I like b/c it's portable and I bring it to crops.

I bought the 19.99 one from M's. and ordered a wall peer adapter from amazon for $3. I'll likely upgrade to a larger one after the holidays.

Great investment! I actually have two floor models & I would recommend the flexible arm/post whatever it is called. I have terrible lighting in my room and have one on each side of my desk. I also got another one for my sunroom at HL off their clearance rack for $55. The bulbs seem to last forever. I have had my first lamp for 8-9 years & am still on the 1st bulb.

I actually love the bulbs themselves -- and put them in my overhead pot lights above my desk

I have this one & I love it it to pieces. Cost a pretty penny but you can get it on sale. It clamps to my desk or it can be used with it's very heavy/sturdy base.

OTT

I totally think paying for a great light is the best thing you can do. It illuminates everything & I have no need for my small OTT.

You all have given me some great advice! I think I will wait and save for one of the bigger lamps, as I think I would want my whole desk lit, vs. just a small space. Thanks peas, you are wonderful!

I have the small folding one for crops, etc. Also have a floor lamp with flexible neck. I use the floor lamp every time I craft, sometimes I even get the folding one out and double up! I am visually handicapped, and when I went to "blind school" this summer (classes for life skills) Ott lights were one of the first things recommended and I could go "already got them!" I actually borrowed extras from my scrapping friends to use around the house. Vision is somewhat back now, but I love my Ott lights more than ever!
