I bought the teen guys in my family these paracord bracelets:

Got Your 6

I figured if they wanted a paracord bracelet, which they were all asking my dh to make, I might as well buy from somebody trying to help the military.

You can never have too many flashlights..I bought a wind up flashlight for my husband and dad last year, which are pretty useful. Thinking of getting on this year for one of the male exchange gifts we have to get.

A couple years ago I purchased a hand crank flashlight/radio combo - which is great for emergencies. Unfortunately, I don't have a link to the one I purchased.

Scented Candles for Man Caves. This is my brother's business, I am so proud of him. He's a single dad raising three beautiful daughters.

On the glovelite site they show you can get left, right or "both". What would "both" be...it will fit either hand?

DH loves his Gorillatorch. He can stick it onto the body of his pickup, tractor, etc and twist the light where he wants it. It's bright and the batteries last a long time.

Does the Large Glovelite fit most men (DH wears a size 10 or 11 wedding ring)? Wasn't sure what Overglove is but assumed big to go over work gloves?

I made DH a medieval hat one year.....he saw it on an episode of Supersizers and coomented on how cool it looked . So i made it for him. It's black velvet, with white feathers....looks like something D'artagnan would wear. Different strokes, I guess

For older men, who remember the t.v. shows, 'Dean Martin's Celebrity Roasts' on DVD. My dad received these one year and loved them. People tend to like nostalgia.

Uncle John's Bathroom Reader. My fil and dh love these. They have so many different issues available. They are oversized paperback books filled with all kinds of interesting stories and facts. Not limited to bathroom reading, of course, lol, but great for those who like that.

My husband and I got an early gift in the mail from my mother yesterday. She rented us a cow.

A cow.

Rent Mother Nature sent us a document about our lease on a cow. Then when we choose our milking date they will send us 3 rounds of Brie cheese from our cow. Is that not the coolest thing?!?

ZOMG this is FANTASTIC i'm so getting this for my dad and his wife - his expression when he reads the cow lease agreement will be fantastic!! i'm so exited i could just pee!! (sorry, it's phrase i got from The Boyfriend... but well, it works!)

Also: yes on Thinkgeek.com - both my salvation and my bane when it comes to gift shopping. Tho the cat laser tower = FANTASTIC for cats who like to chase The Red Dot.

additionally: Kiva - micro-loans to help people or Sevenly Charity T-Shirt site

I was going to get the "Mentalist" on DVD for DH, but DD says he doesn't want to spend the $ on it.

I like the "rent a cow" idea for him and maybe the Glovelite. Might get that for DS instead though.

I got my dad a pair of these beverage butlers last year and they were a big hit! They have them outside by their lounge chairs beside the hot tub and get a lot of use. They are very sturdy!

And Juanita, can you say "Perfect Bachelor Party Gift"?

I love the Rent a Cow idea too and have thought about leasing a cow to my DB's family (my SIL grew up on a dairy farm). My DB is into scientific stuff and I thought this would just be a fun family gift. My DH and DS kind of nixed the idea though, but I may still go this route.

I'm getting DH the Ultimate James Bond Collection that has all the Bond movies except Skyfall on Blu-ray. He'll be watching movies for days.

Dh makes paracord bracelets and until this thread I had no idea they were survival tools. So I had a lesson on all the ways you can use the cord after it is unraveled. I couldn't figure out why they were so popular. As much as they cost vs how much it costs to make them, he should go into business for himself.

Christina

You can't argue with popularity. Well, you could, but you'd be wrong.

I jumped for joy when I saw the rent a cow but they will only mail non-perishable items to Canada. The sheep blanket is too far out of my gift limit (set by the family) of $50. I would love to find something similar in Canada!

My husband loves sockets. He has a billion sockets. One year as a joke I bought him more sockets. It was his favorite gift ever.

For other holidays I have bought him an oscilloscope. I bought him a Zombie survival kit.

He loves unusual tools and unusual knives. I find him the craziest knives and he's thrilled. I don't buy him collector knives but every day man knives.

I bought DH a family membership to the shooting range. We both want to learn to shoot. He can go with me or with our oldest DS. It comes with a free gun rental since we don't own any.

I also love that rent a cow gift idea. I bought it for his birthday. We love going to Vermont and eating cheese
