Anyone have any interesting stocking ideas? I have both SO and my dad to buy for and don't want to fill their stockings with candy and junk food like years past.

Already ordered Bacon salt and Malt Salt awesome site will probably be buying both of those a lot if they taste good.

A couple of years ago, a Pea (sorry I can't remember who) mentioned how much her dh loved shaving products from the Body Shop. I purchased the following for my own DH and he LOVES THEM!
Shave cream

Shaving brush
Before this dh always used shaving cream in a can - but he's loving this "retro" shave stuff. Never would have occurred to me if is hadn't been for 2 Peas!

They could easily be stocking stuffers too!

I just got a box of man cave candles that was linked on the first page I believe.

I opened the box and almost gagged (definitely NOT a scent i'd be burning in my house, but that's the point. ha. The candles are strong, the packaging is fabulous and the scent is dead on. I can't wait to give these to the men I ordered them for
Shipping was also super quick, LOVE that! I'll definitely be ordering again. Pure Scented Candles

I bought DH a tee shirt that said "in dog years, I'm dead" with am image of a skeleton. He loved it so much, we bought another one as a backup, lol. I can't find it on the wireless catalog site anymore, but this one is similar. http://www.tshirtoutlet.com/rl37.html

I found this lunch box size car oven for DH on amazon. I can't wait for him to try it out. He travels and takes his lunch everyday, and this way he can have some more variety.

I got my husband an effing gear t shirt last year for Christmas. The first time we saw them, we were both hooked. My husband is a huge huskers fan, so I got him the effing Lincoln Nebraska t shirt.

This is a Made in America company too. I emailed them to see and was thrilled that I was buying and supporting an American made company.

They also have an "Eff Sandy" t shirt with proceeds going to aid the victims of the hurricane.

And, they have plain old "eff that" T Shirts too. I think I am going to get hubby one of those this year.

We think they are fun and take no offense to the eff bomb.

For anyone looking for the drink ice cubes, Cost Plus World Market has them for $14.99 with free shipping, no minimum order required. Sorry I can't link from my phone, but they are in the bar accessories section, or just search for drink stones!

Edited to add: they are called "Classic Rocks"

If you are looking for the whiskey stones... I saw them at Home Goods this weekend, and I think they were about $15. Last week I bought them at Target in the men's department. They were in the area with the vintage-looking men's boxed gifts. They weren't the Whiskey Stone brand, but they were the same thing. I think they were about $12.

I shopped a yard sale for DH this year!!!

I didn't plan on it, but when I found what I did, I couldn't resist.

First, I found an LP record of the 1971 World Series radio broadcast with cool 1970s cover art. I'm putting it into an album frame for the fan cave. World Series album

Second cool gift is a shadow box that contains a chunk of the turf from Three Rivers Stadium and several pieces of memorabilia--tickets, patches, photos, etc. of the Pirates and Steelers. It is already in a nice frame.

The third gift is the coolest of all and by far may favorite! It is a LP recording of various interviews with Roberto Clemente, and the cover art is a pencil sketch of Roberto. I LOVE it! Again, it will go into an album frame for the fan cave.

I want to find someone who can turn the LPs into MP3 files so we can actually listen to the albums (since we no longer own a record player LOL).

We don't usually exchange gifts b/c we get a "couples" gift of tickets or something for the house, but this year we haven't planned for that yet. If he wants to go with a couple gift, then he can count them as his "birthday gifts" if he wants to, but I just won't be able to wait for his late January birthday to see him open them.
Roberto Clemente album

Total for all three gifts--$20!

Several years ago, someone mentioned "Poo-pourri" on one of these threads. As an inside joke between dh and myself, I bought some for our master bathroom. Let me tell you, that stuff REALLY works!

Poo-pourri site

They recently expanded the scents they have plus have come out with a crazy commercial/video explaining the product.

I don't know WHO thinks up stuff like this, but I for one am glad they do (or should that be doo-d.... nevermind!)

Thanks for this thread. My recycling, nature-loving, organic-eating DS is going to love his leased goat. (I had to get the goat. Something about a leased goat is funnier than a cow.)

twinsmom - you could always add one of those reproduction record players to the gift package. We have one that has the CD player, radio, tape player and phonograph. We love it!

Love the poo pouri. Never heard of it, but perfect for my Dad!

Seems everyone likes flashlights. I was channel surfing and saw this on qvc. I can't even tell you how many flash lights we have in this house, but for some reason I liked this. You can use all together or one at a time. They are rechargeable and will work for HOURS.

Juanita, LOL! OMG!

And on a more serious note, I second Ouiser's idea for the rechargeable lantern. We have one and I'm going to grab another. They're great for when the power goes out as well as for camping.

Twinsmom, how old are your kids? Ask among them if anyone has a vinyl player, because they seem to be coming back into popularity. Both of my boys have them, and they convert the record to MP3 files. I'm not sure if they all do that, but I think most of the newer ones do.

For something fun and different, try burntimpressions.com. They make toasters with different faces and things on them. Last year, I got an Obama toaster for my sister, who is a big Obama fan, and the Jesus toaster for my nephew as he has always had long hair and a beard and the wee one's called him Jesus.

Both of them loved the toasters! Something useful but fun too. My nephew made the toast for his room mate and didn't say anything about the toaster and the room mate kept asking him if he saw Jesus' face in the toast. Nephew kept that going for a while before breaking down and telling him, lol.

I bought this rechargable LED flashlight Bayco Lite and he was sooo pleased. He used it a couple of week later when the tail light of my car burned out and he needed to replace the bulb. He also took it to a friend's house to show him, and the friend bought one too. He asked me where I got the idea for it, and I told him about this message board. Anyhow, this is a powerful light, and it is magnetic/rechargable.

3 years ago my SIL bought a RC Helicopter for my BIL, he's an engineer and pilot, he LOVED it. Apparently now all the other engineers at his office have them now too and fly them around.

I purchased one for my DH and my other engineer BIL, they LOVE them.
Men are just grown up boys and it's a great way to relax; although we now have flying and landing competitions so it's not that relaxing. Now all the 26 yr olds down to the college kids want their own to play with. The older men do not share well.

This is the brand I ordered and they're very well made and pretty tough. Cost is under $20 and they recharge with the included USB cable that plugs into the computer. The controller does use a battery but it lasts a long time.
SIL ordered BIL's from husbands flight magazine and paid over $70. I found the same one's available on Amazon.

First I bought this one
Syma S107g

Then I bought this one, exact same thing.
Syma S107G

I'm so happy this thread popped up again!

We bought this tripod flashlight for my dad and he loved it.

I also bought him a Wireless rain guage and he LOVES it. As in, every week when I talk to him on the phone he gives me a rain update and tells me how handy that gauge is.

I think I'm gonna get DH a coffee grinder this year. But, I need some other fun ideas for him, my BILs and my dad, so I'm gonna be going through this thread again.

I picked up this candle powered LED lantern for SO's birthday. It gives off a lot of light and is great for when the power goes out.
