will a cricut mat work with the sihouette? I really need a new mat and I haven't been able to get a Silhouette one. Anybody know?

You can also wash the old mat, let it dry, tape off the sides where the rollers hit the mat, and spray the mat with reposition all adhesive spray. I usually let the first coat dry and then respray it for a tackier surface. I think the brand of the repositional adhesive spray is xyron! I works like a charm and saves me money in the long run.

The cricut mats are slightly thicker, but they do work. I had to do in a pinch and it worked fine.

I have found that I actually prefer the Cricut mats. It might be all in my mind, but they seem to load straighter. I like the sturdiness of them too, and the full size cover. I cut the mat down to match the markings on my Silhouette mat, though someone else said that this is not necessary. When I start to use the other one that came in my two pack, I'll see how that goes.

I always wondered if the cricut mat worked. I've stripped my silhouette mat many times and sprayed it with temp adhesive. The only problem is that it's been used so many times that it looks all sad and on its last legs. I bought a replacement a month ago. I have to order them online but HL carries Cricut mats and they do occasionally go on sale. Good to know I can use them if I need to!

Me too. The Silhouette mats seem too thin and are too sticky.
