i'm saying plans/goals because i know some peas don't like to make "goals," but...

here's mine:

1. project life again - looking to get my hands on the seafoam kit for next year.
2. olw w/ ali e on bpc
3. [probably] mmew w/ cathy z on bpc again (i quit smoking this year, but i still have alot of work to do). lol...
4. [probably] lifebook - the instructors for next year are amazing - some of my faves - melody ross, dina wakley, etc.

i think i'm going to stay away from a "number of layouts goal" next year b/c i never seem to even come close to it...

2. Week in the Life with Ali Edwards - did this for 2012 and it is one of my most favorite projects to date. I think she mentioned picking a week in the fall for 2013.

you just made me remember something - was thinking of doing a seasonal mini - kind of like the picture sring/picture summer/etc. concept on bpc...

Project Life. That's it. If I can accomplish that, it will be a miracle.

I'd like to scrap every day, or as close to it as I can get. Oh, and catch my son's albums up to his second birthday. Aaaand finish the 2012 December album. And (this will be a toughie) NOT BUY ANYTHING for the first six months, other than the Noel Mignon kit I've subscribed to.

I like plans....I don't like to set scrapping goals because then it feels like a job. But I will be doing:

1. Project life for the first time - I will sprinkle in traditional layouts as the mood strikes, but won't be keeping a separate book.
2. Week in the Life with Ali Edwards - did this for 2012 and it is one of my most favorite projects to date. I think she mentioned picking a week in the fall for 2013.
3. December Daily - 2012 is my second year and I am hooked - will do one every year now.
4. Disney album - probably a snap binder album - we are taking my son on his first trip in August 2013.

I always find other random things to work on throughout the year. I will most likely make several minis over the course of the year, but don't plan ahead for those. Just depends on what types of events we have throughout the year.

I am a project lifer. That's why I am taking so many pictures.....

I'd like to finish up (or be close to finishing up) my girls' school year albums for the previous school year before January 1st so that I can try to do the current school year while it's going on.

As for PL, my only real goal is to quit printing all the cute freebie journaling cards I find online and use what I already have. This is the only scrapbook supply that I do that with(get more than what I actually need/use). This week I did rearrange a couple of things so that the album can go back to sitting on top of my (2x4 longwise) Expedit. It reminds me to keep up with it during the week AND my girls look at it more often when it's out.

For our family album, I just want to continue my "goal" since I started PL - to pare down what all I put in the family album. I use PL for everyday stuff or things that don't need a full layout and use the family album for the bigger stuff. It's not just holidays and big events, there are still special photos (like my youngest closing her eyes to wish on a random dandelion we found walking home from school), just not as much as it used to be.

I went from trying to scrapbook EVERY photo I took to trying to only choose the ones that tell the story or "speak" to me for whatever reason. And using Kerri Bradford's collages helps keep the # of pages/layout down as well.

Okay, done ramblin'

I want to get my photo files reorganised into year/month/day folders and then get into a regular routine of printing them off monthly. Likewise, I want to set up a system to organise my printed photos so that I can choose among them for scrapping.

I'll be starting my 2013 album and working on completing my 2012 album and all other older LOs.

I also plan to take at least one course with Shimelle next year - it's just so hard to choose!

I am bookmarking this thread so I can check back and see if I accomplish what I set out to.

1) Finish this year's Project Life since I haven't touched it since March. There's a slight chance I'll work on it between Christmas & New Year's, but I'm not counting on it.

2) I would like to scrap every day. Of course, that depends on if I get a job outside the home or not. Don't see me scrapping every day if I'm working. Hitting the lottery would come in handy here.

3) Get through my 2004 photos. Yes, I chrono scrap and am that far behind.

Wishin' you ladies luck w/your goals. Do the same for me - I'll need it!

I have a few things I'd like to get done:

Picture related:
I want to finish dismantling my mother's old albums and scanning in those pictures.
Take some Photoshop elements classes.
Organize pictures - printed & digital. There are lots of duplicates and just plain bad shots that can be tossed or deleted.

Scrap related:
I fell in love with scrapbooking again and I just want to make lots and lots of pages for my albums.
Use up a chunk of my stash so I don't have to organize it any more.

Oh this is an inspirational thread!!!!

I would like to not spend too much on stamps or PP next year. Other supplies like cardstock and adhesive, I never seem to overdo. I need to have specific limits!

I want to organize my digital photos on my computer, and since I LIKE being on the computer, I don't know why I procrastinate on that one.

I'm pretty organized and I just did a specific and calculated purge, so I'm good on that goal...but, you never know.

I want to finish my own baby pictures. Unfortunately I fear, as I age my youth becomes more and more mythic...soaked in legend, as it were, and so I want to scrap them all...yikes!

Thanks crisann!! It's good to get this out!

I have been thinking about what I am doing scrapwise in 2013, too.
I have it kinda broken down in my head by months.
January: wrap up a few loose ends (I'm taking a double load of college classes this month, so can't commit to anything major scrapping)
February: Do Layout-a-day. Not sure if I will sign up for it or just do it on my own (challenges tend to make me rebel and say "you can't make me do that". Weird, I know)
March: work on UFOs.
April: I want to get the albums for my kids' graduation open houses done.
May: another month of double classes at college and I graduate then, too. So no scrapping plans.

I haven't gotten any further than that yet.

ETA: and I am going to either use or purge 2013 things!
These things can be scrapping things that I use or things that I sell/give away/throw away, scrapping or not.
I'm really excited about this part, too!

So I use to be really into scrapbooking. But for the past 5 or so years, have not done anything. I sold everything I had. But now I am feeling the urge to start again. Though I think I will just buy supplies on an as needed basis. I plan to do the Project Life this year.

Oh boy, I have L-O-O-O-NG project list for 2013. I really got motivated and "in the zone" this fall. It was tough to pause while I work on christmas projects. However, I have tons of inspiration swirling around. For the most part, I plan on going the divided page protector route to tackle some projects that have lingered on the to-do list for awhile. Hopefully, that will allow me to scrap quickly and actually get some items finished!

- Project Life (this will be my 5th year)
- album for Niece #1 (years 3-6)
- album for Niece #2 (years 1-4)
- school album for Niece #1
- Honeymoon album (using the sn@p album)
- 2006-2009 album for DH & I (using PL kit)
- NYC vacation album

Thanks for posting this thread! Hopefully, putting this list out here will help keep me accountable and on track

Next year, my goal is to organize my scrap area and photos and to use my stash.
I haven't decided on Project Life yet. I've enjoyed it this year but it takes a lot of time and energy as you have to keep it up every single day compared to usual layouts where you pick an event or a topic and make a page of it.
I was thinking that I could just save my daily photo and the journaling in the iPhone app I use, and not transfer that information to paper. Then again, I really enjoy having an album with the photos and pretty paper from my stash cut in 4x6 cards. It's like keeping a diary, and I love that. So I might keep it up after all.

I remember setting goals last year and only accomplishing half of what I set out to do. I want to:
1. Give myself at least one day per week for scrapping.
2. I really want to; and cannot wait to do pl, for the first time
3. I want to get all completed layouts in a book
4. I would like to do a few small chipboard books for my daughter (in college) of special times together
5. And last but not least, I want to re-organize my scraproom (which has become a "catch all" room)

All of these jobs are not for the faint at heart
Seeing all of this in black and whites, makes me excited about the upcoming year.

It's so hard to believe that 2012 is coming to an end!

I've been thinking about next year and I have a few things I want to get completed.

A: Project Life (Seafoam Edition) I did PL this year and love the results!!

B: Curb my spending. I have a scrap "budget" of $150/month. I often go over it but I seriously need to cut back. My plan is $100/month which includes my SC kit and TT Studio AE club. I do have a separate budget for printer paper and Epson ink which is expensive.

C: Fill 2 WRMK's albums with new LO's. I hate setting number goals, mainly because I never ever meet them. I bought 8 new albums on Thanksgiving and my plan is to hopefully fill 2 of them. No pressure there!

D: I'd also like to step out of the box and try some new techniques. I'm usually quite happy sitting in my personal comfort zone but I'd like to experiment a little.

1. Finish my Project Life 2012 album.
2. Do Project Life all year for 2013.
3. Do Ali's 31 Things workshop.
4. Get/find all the photos I need for an alphabet album, and finish that album by April 15.
5. Do at least one layout about our current home before we move.

I have lots of other projects on my list, but those are the most important ones to me.

Project Life - I admire the people that actually do this but I could NEVER even dream about a project that big. Even December Daily is too much of a commitment for me! Last year I thought I'd manage the 12-12-12 project: All I had to do was take photos on the 12th day of every month. I think that fell apart in February... so I decided that all I needed to do was take photos every month... but I've just come to realize that sadly I'm missing September and October... So my goal for next year is to actually take photos EVERY month so that I can do a nice 2013 layout at the end of the year. Obviously I'm going to need to make up SEVERAL calendar reminders for September and October!

Add me to the list of people who just want to scrap more but don't have any specific project in mind. I also want to take a lot more photos than I have during the past couple of years. I'm still more than a year behind, although almost caught up, but that is partially because I took almost no photos in the second half of 2011 and the first nine months or so of 2012.

I guess another goal would be to keep using products in my stash and continue to not go crazy buying new things.

Organize This... Organize That..

I have started a file on my computer of the digi stamps that I've bought, but haven't used/coloured yet. It's up to 300 I think now. I'd like that to be zero at the end of the year, with more using than adding. Doing this with physical stamps would be.... well, GOOD, but insane as well!

I'd like to set a reasonable budget. $100 isn't reasonable because one of the stamp companies I like charges $25 a set and has new stuff nearly every week, for ONLY one week, but my expenses say my lowest spending month was still $208 and that's not cheap. My highest was $800.

I want to try to do PL, or something like it. I got the idea from a Pea to start with my birthday, and the next 5 years will be my journey to 35, so that's pretty awesome I've lived this long. I want to document it birthday year by birthday year. But that means I have to catch up with June 2012 and go forward from there.

Complete my service dog's 1 year baby album with pictures and journalling. I think I stalled on 7 months, he's nearly 9 months now.

Pages completed in 2010: 179
Pages completed in 2011: 121

I want to schedule regular scrapping time for myself. Maybe every Monday afternoon?

I'd also like to scrap our 2010 pictures and put a dent in our 2011 pictures.

Third, I'd like to complete a mini album for a long weekend trip my family took in 2010. I have about 50 pictures and I need to decide what kind of album I want to use.

I plan to do Project Life again, but this time not take an (ahem) 6 month "break". I also hope to get the Seafoam kit.

I plan to organize all of my older photos. I bought my grandfather's house last year and I have a lot of old photos that were left in the house that I need to scan and organize, so I'm excited about that project.

I would like to do atleast 4 layouts per month. Over the last 2 years I have not done as much scrapbooking as I would like and I hope 2013 is a year where I continue to feel energized and excited about this hobby. I have already gotten back into it in a big way this fall and winter. I have a new scrapbook subscription and I know that will get me to scrapbook more because I love new stuff and I hate wasting money.

I plan to take more on-line classes. I have found I love on-line classes and chats, so I am going to treat myself to more of them.

Great thread and posts. I particularly like the idea of actually using my stash, so there's less to reorganize. Also, setting aside a specific day/time to scrap. That's very important; life keeps getting in the way and I haven't done much since the crop I went to in the end of September

I am hoping that I will be able to set a certain time on a regular basis that I can scrap. It is so important to me and I am forgetting the little details of things my kids did and said when they were little. To me, that's a big part of what makes scrapping special. Several people were at big events like birthday parties and things, but only one or two people (usually my husband and I) were able to hear the cute little things they said and did. I want to remember those things.

I need to complete UFOs. I think January may be a good month for that.

I like to set goals, even if I don't make the mark by the end of the year. It gives me the push I need to get going.
I used to be able to do a layout a day, and I'd love to be able to get back to that. However, my life has become a bit of a whirlwind lately so I don't think that's attainable anymore.
So, my goals for next year would be to do 300 layouts and to use up a lot of my stash.

I think the last month I did it was October - but there was barely any response and I kept feeling like I was bumping up my own thread

But I can try it again if there's interest. I know it was great for me to keep my projects on my mind.

This is a good post. I hope to do the following.

1. Stop organizing it looks great and start scrapping.
2. Project Life (this is my 1st year) all set up and excited to begin.
3. Complete some mini albums of differnt events we attended with my son.
4. Start making cards.

My plan is to get a handle on my photo printing dilemma. Many of my photos need to be edited and re-sized for printing and it's a huge task that I keep putting off. I can't move forward without tackling this though.
