WHat bands does he like?
I read a great bio of Freddie Mercury a few months ago, so if he likes Queen, this may be good. Mercury: Intimate Bio of Freddie Mercury.
Anthony Kiedis's Scar Tissue, interesting but longish.
I heard Steven Tyler's memoir was very good but I haven't read it, yet.

OK. Newbie. This is how it works. If your post consists of 80% sanity, 10% stupidity and 10% all kinds of crazy, we immediately focus on the 20% b/c it discredits the 80%.

Books by Atul Gawande and Mary Roach are fantastic. They are medical/science nonfiction. Written for lay people. Witty, informative, very interesting! |

I agree with Anthony Kedis's Scar Tissue. I couldn't put it down.
Tolkiens books are always awesome.
Stephen Kings Gunslinger series is my bfs favorite (he is 22). |

The Passage by Justin Cronin. I bought this for my young adult sons a couple of years ago and they both liked it - I am buying them the sequel, The Twelve, this year for Christmas.
Ready Player One by Ernest Cline. If your son is a video game player, he might like this one. |

How to Win Friends and Influence People ??? lol wtf
The Stranger by Camus would appeal to a 21 yr old boy. It has the benefit of being a novella.

Nonfiction suggestions:
UNBROKEN by Laura Hillenbrand. I just got this book back from a 20 year old that borrowed it and he really enjoyed the book.
Also, The Freddie Steinmark Story: COURAGE BEYOND THE GAME by Jim Dent. TWELVE MIGHTY ORPHANS by Jim Dent
Fiction suggestions:
THE PASSAGE & THE TWELVE by Justin Cronin
Anything by John Grisham |

I think the book One Second After is a great read for most people, but definitely a 21 year old guy! It is an end of the world type novel, so make sure that sort of thing doesn't bother him.

"Alice Cooper - Golf Monster" I LOVE Alice, grew up listening to his music and finally got the chance to see him with my DS a few years ago!! AWESOME show! This book is very entertaining, funny, tough in places. Alice plays golf every day of his life. It saved him from alcoholism. |

What about fantasy? I've heard that a lot of young people love the Wheel of Time series by Robert Jordan. There are like 17 books now and the books are huge so they will keep him busy for a really long time! |

Ds suggests Into Thin Air by Krakauer. He was not a fan of Into the Wild. Also Amazonia or sub zero by Rollins.
DH loved Steven Tyler's book but it was pretty raunchy. |

Lots of great book choices here.
As for other bedroom themed items...
-an e-reader (and download a book for him)
-book light
-alarm clock
-slippers
-robe and/or a robe hook
-storage box/chest/drawers to hold wallet, keys, charging station on dresser
-magic bag to heat for sore muscles, aches and pains
-extra storage for closet (belt rack, tie rack)
-magazine subscription
-novelty boxers
-lap desk
-toiletry bag filled with fave products or a variety of travel sizes
-print or poster mounted to hang on the wall
-bed side rug
-soothing sounds/white noise machine
Have fun with the theme!

My son is 23, and loves to read, but has very eclectic taste.
His favorite authors are Cormac McCarthy, Michael Crichton and Stephen King. He also enjoys non-fiction, and loved Unbroken, The Perfect Storm, and Into Thin Air.
He's asked for some of the James Bond novels and Team of Rivals for Christmas. |

Another vote for Game of Thrones.
I am reading a Russian fantasy series from Alexei Pehov. It's the Chronicles of Siala. The books are Shadow Prowler, Shadow Blizzard & Shadow Dancer. I got them out of order. The series reminds me a lot of Lord of the Rings mixed in with comedy. |
