I don't expect a reply. It's nice to receive replies.

If you ask a question in your OP, you have a better chance of receiving a reply.

I don't respond specifically to each reply but it's nice to have the OP come back and at least acknowledge the responses by saying Thanks, etc.

I definitely don't expect a response back every time I answer a question someone has. Our threads would be so long if that were the case!

I don't think a response to every single post is necessary. However, if someone has gone the extra mile to help you, it's just basic courtesy to thank them.

And it is nice when the OP at least says a general thank you to those who responded. At least they know the OP saw their replies.

There have been a few times I have spent a fair amount of time trying to help someone, and got no indication they ever even saw my post. When that happens, it does bother me because I have no idea whether or not they even saw the response(s), or if they just couldn't be bothered to let people know. The latter is a bit rude IMO.

If people take time to try to help you or answer a question, please at least say a general "thank you" to them as a group. A response to each and every reply isn't necessary, though.

I usually try to come back with a general "thanks for all the good advice" and then a more specific thank you when someone really went out of their way. I do think it is good form to acknowledge people have helped.

I agree with Scoobers and Scrapn nana.

When people take the time to answer a question that I've posted, I think it is just simple courtesy to come back and thank those who posted a reply. I find that is part of what makes threads interesting to read - besides, it's kind of fun to see what the OP decided to do after they got feedback to their questions.

What do you do when you thank people, which bumps the thread, and more people come on? Do you keep thanking them, which keeps the thread bumped and the potential for even more replies. It seems like a never ending cycle.

I don't think you have to answer every single post but if someone goes to a lot of trouble, you should thank them. I think I've always answered all responses but not always in separate posts.

It is annoying to go to a lot of trouble and research for someone and they NEVER respond to me at all. I know a few years ago, someone wanted a list of certain collection of dies. I had most of the list done since I HAD most of the dies but took a little work to complete it. NEVER got any response period. It would have been nice to get a "Hey, thanks" for my trouble.

It seems to be that people respond less than they used to. When I first got on 2 peas, even if you were NOT the OP, people would read all the responses and then comment on the other responses too. Seems like that doesn't happen as much anymore. I've even seen people post that they hadn't read the other responses.

Or....you could go ask your question on the NSBR board, where 48 Peas will respond, 17 of them multiple times, guaranteeing the thread will run a minimum of 2 pages. 4 will ask why you're posting a question about X when it has nothing to do with the current economic situation, 11 will respond to the 4, with reasons why it does relate to the current economic situation, 3 more will say it's Obama's fault, and that will take it page 3....then one Pea will notice that you haven't come back, which will cause 5 peas to question your upbringing, 2 to say you're probably an illegal alien anyway. One pea will then look up your post history and the thread will go to page 4. One pea will pray for you, two will tell you NSBR isn't for sissies, two will apologize for everyone else, and one will sing Kumbaya.

But the simple answer is yes...you should pop into a thread you created, at least once, to thank the responders

I-95, you forgot the Peas that will agree with each other, share benches, pop popcorn and then inquire about the best recipe for said popcorn. (I *heart* NSBR)

I think if you ask and they answer, you should SOMEHOW indicate that you saw the replies.

Over Thanksgiving a Pea asked for a Strawberry Pie recipe and several Peas (including moi) replied. *crickets*

We have no idea which pie she went with or if she ever saw our replies.

I'm guilty of not replying (about a thyroid thread I started) but I didn't bookmark or watch it and haven't been able to figure out how to find it on my phone... I was worrying about exactly what you asked! It's been a week now and I'm worried that if I do find it and post, I'll be in trouble for bumping an old thread... So stressful...lol Glad someone asked what I was wondering and was good to heard what the Peas think

In my pea world...the first time is good enough, the second time a bonus, but after that you're definitely good.

I too did not get to thank everyone who took the time to reply to my ATG question last week. I took everyone's high recommendations and went out and bought one. I love it! Thank you!

That's what I would think as well, but you never know who might think their later reply warranted it's own thank you.

I would be absolutely floored if I got 29 responses to a new thread here, but if it was two or 29, I would post one more time to say "Thanks everyone." If I got one response, I would say "Thanks ____ (insert name of Pea.) I think that would be OK with most Peas.
