Hey ladies! Can you believe it is the 13th already. Boy this year is flying!!! I have had a better week and did some fun things. I can't believe it but I made some christmas cards. I am putting our business on hold so these will just be given to some special supports of our business & a few family. Tis the season to give so that is what I will do. But I hope to make the big bucks next year.
Here are a few of them. Christmas in Red & White

Also, I have been having fun learning to crochet and back. I am crocheting something that looks like it could turn into a scarf. And, I made a simple yellow card with vanilla icing. So yummy!

Nylene- Hope you and your dh are doing well especially with the snow storm going. Wish I could send you some warm weather but it has been a little chilly here. Wow, you can do some nice crocheting! I gotta find some things to try to make once I get more of the had of things. Also, thanks for the cheers for my dh's new job. He likes it and we hope a permanent position will be around the corner.

Hey Diane, Cindy, Jana, Angie and Pam! Hoping you are all doing fine.

I was afraid after my last long post that no one would come back to the Pokey thread! Glad I didn't scare you all away.

Kelly, I think you mean you made a yellow CAKE rather than card. I was trying to figure out how you ice a card and make it yummy. But if anyone could do it, you could! I love hearing you sound so upbeat!

Jana, it's nice to see you. I'm sorry you still have so much to do to get ready for Christmas. We've asked our children to pick out gifts from us to the grandchildren. I'm sure that adds to their stress, but it's so much easier for us because their parents can get the things they really want or need. My mom used to send me a check and ask the same of me. It was fun to find something the little ones wanted.

Just stopping by to post the 2 pages I finished.

Welcome Baby Alex

The Joy of Family

My Dh is feeling a little better every day, I think. I can tell he's still struggling, but is looking much better. Thanks for your thoughts and prayers.

Be back later. Have a great week, everyone.

Yes, I meant to say CAKE not CARD! I guess I was typing up a storm. It is a chilly day here in so cal but I am staying warm. I have been working on greeting cards can you believe it? I got some more ideas yesterday and made a few more. It does feel so good and I hope to work on a few more today.

Here on my blog I posted more pictures of the cards, too. Kelly's Blog

Also, we are still enjoying my latest cake! I want to hurry through dinner so I can get to the cake! Yes, a nice big fat piece, too. So, next week I hope to make a two layered cake. I have never done that and look forward to the challenge.

Nylene- You can't run me away! I am hooked! Also, a cake card? hummmm... now this is a tasty idea!

So glad your hubby is doing better. He sounds like a strong man and I know you all give him so much love and care. Hang in there!

Wow did you gals notice it is only the 14th and we already have 2 pages!!!! I am doing the Happy Dance-too bad you can't see! Now that the calendars are in the mail I was able to do another JYC page. Bob knew about the calendars as he picked the photos and told me where he wanted them and what to write-of course I did some editing> They are a lot of work! Especially printing and binding them. But he and his friends love them.

Nylene-I am so glad to hear that Steve is feeling a little better, and I know it relieves your mind. I am so glad you got your tree and village up for the holidays. I love looking at the tree and the lights and my nativity in the quiet of the might and reflecting on the true meaning of the season.

Kelly-so glad to see you back on and in such a cheerful mood! You are such a special person and we so miss you when you don't stop by, but also understand that sometimes life is in the way. Hugs to you & your DH. Oh and yes I am enjoying my football-especially since the Browns have started winning a few games. Our new owner is going to be just what this team needs!

Val-How's it going GF? I know you are super busy right now-Hugs to you!

AmI-so nice to see you findoing 5 minutes to scrap a page-we miss yuou too.

Jana-good to see you also-you have been missed-are the new nurses finished with training yet & on the floor to help get thru the holidays???

Sarah- I jsut love reading when you visit! So fun to read how you and your family are doing here in the USA!

Pam-so nice to see you stopping by. We miss you and our daily updates of Sylvester!

Here's the page I did tonight. TFL!

Oh Christmas Tree

Just stopped in to say Hello.

I'm just waiting for some fabric to come out of the dryer so I can get started on tonight's project.

Last year we started a new tradition. We kick off the Christmas festivities on the 21st. The 22nd is the winter solstice which makes the 21st the longest night of the year. Last year we gave the kids pajamas for "Longest Night" but it was hard to keep them clean until Christmas morning. So this year I'm making Christmas pillowcases--a perfect place to rest their heads on the longest night. I do love feeling like Santa in my workshop after the kids go to bed.

I hope you are all doing well this holiday season! I'd love to know what traditions you have for whatever holiday you celebrate at this time of year.

Hi everyone,

Nylene, I hope Steve continues to improve. You and him are in my thoughts and prayers daily.
My sister is still in NY and yes, she'll still live with us. We're moving all her stuff into one of the rooms. You're making me blush with all your compliments on my knitting . I'm not that great and I've only knit one sock . I do have a sock knitting class on my computer and sock yarn all ready to takle that again sometime soon.

Diana and Nylene: Unfortunately I won't have a sunroom in my new home but the things it does have outweigh that. We have looked for about 6 months with our agent and going to open houses every weekend. Our main criteria were to have a walk in closet and a bigger kitchen than what I have now. I would have settled for a kitchen the same size but not smaller. So many homes we looked at had either but none had both except this one. The kitchen and great room are adjacent or you could say combined and the great room has 18' ceilings with windows all over the place so I'll have plenty of bright light. My sunroom is one of a few things I'll miss though.

Angie, your Halloween layouts were adorable! Christmas pillowcases--how fun!! The kids were all nestled all snug in their beds, with made with love pillowcases for their sweet little heads

Cindy, I'm so glad you're on the mend. It's a long process but you'll get there. Hugs!

Kelly, I am in love with your cards!! So glad you've got your mojo back. I've been helping a few people at the assisted living with crocheting. Isn't it fun??

Jana, I'm so happy to have Pokey Pea doing Project Life!! I'm a bit behind and I so hope I'll be able to get started in January with 2013. I bought the Clementine album for 2013 and I went in halves with a friend for the Cherry kit and we split it and the remainder of what I had from 2012. So, now I have an ecclectic mix to have fun with.

Well, I don't mean to cut this short and I'm sorry but I have to run. Today is DSIL Christmas party and I have a spinach/artichoke dip to make. I've wrapped the white elephant party gifts but still need to put a lb of make-up on and get dressed.
Waiving hi to Amy, Linda, Minna, Sarah and everyone

Good Morning! Thought I would stop by and say and post a lo I did for my JYC album. I baked cookies with the grands yesterday and it bacame an all day affair! But the cookies came out very well. Maggie wanted to make real ginger bread cookies this year. They came out very well! Rolled out easily and cut easily also. I will be posting a layout of them working on the goodies!

Val- so great seeing you! I am sure you are really busy right now with the holidays and preparing for your move.

Here is my layout-

Hey peas! I hope you all are having a nice restful Sunday. Mine is going ok so far. We hope to do our Christmas deco later and put up our tree. Yesterday, I got most of our Christmas cards mailed. So just a few more to go. But, I have so much pp left, I may be tempted to play with a few more. I will be sharing more pic too.

Cindy- You know how to make a girl blush! Thanks for your kind words. You all mean so much to me too. Just glad I am feeling better overall. Also, hope the Brown's do well.

Val- Good to see you! Sounds like you are busy, busy and I hope your move goes well.

Angie- The Christmas pillows sound so cute and what a nice new tradition. I know they will have so much fun. Are you all going back home for Christmas?

Nylene- How's your hubby? Hope he is doing better. Thanks for the compliment on my cards. I ordered that Anna Griffin pp and it was a challenge to figure out what to do with it. Maybe it was just too much pp. But I am glad I was able to figure something out. I just ordered her Spring card kit and hope to make some pretty floral cards. Can't wait to get it.

Hey Ladies,

Sorry, I haven't been around. Life sort of threw us a curve ball. My bf is out of the country working and fell off of the foot bridge they are building. He is the engineer on the project. He was inspecting the worker's work, and passed out, fell to the ground and mangled his leg.
I'm just hoping he gets home in time for Christmas.

Like Val, I've been looking for a new house. I finally found exactly what I'm looking for. It's a brand-new house and hasn't been built yet. So, I will get to choose the colors, and everything else. Yippee Skippy.

I will be back later with a bunch of layouts to share.

Nylene - Hope Steve gets better really soon. - Prayers your way.

Kelley - So glad you got you mojo back - I love your cards.

I know there's more but I can't remember. Good Luck and Merry Christmas.

It's been a long, LONG time, my friends! I thought I would quickly drop in and wish everyone a very Merry Christmas before I start my busiest week of the year. We are still in school for 4.5 more days and those will be filled with crafts, games, parties, a play, one conference, one retirement dinner, one band concert and THEN the Christmas shopping can BEGIN! I'm exhausted just thinking about it.

Nylene, I'll add your husband to my prayer list.

Cindy, I'm enjoying your pages (nice digital work!) that arrive so nicely in my inbox! I have fallen in love with "all things" digital since I've been creating activities for my classroom using powerpoint.

Valerie! - Busy as always, I see. How exciting to be moving! Lots of work, I know... but oh SO worth it!

Must quickly close... DH is hollering for me from the other side of the house. It seems he can't find something... so what else is new? Ha!

Hugs to you all! Leslie

I had a nice weekend. It was filled with making more cards, mailing them out, enjoying some holiday movies, and putting up our tree. Last night we put up the tree and the lights don't work! Rats! So we gotta figure that out. The tree has those built in lights and has worked for yrs but maybe this year they are too tired.

Here are some more cards I posted today. More Xmas cards

Also, there are more pictures on my blog.

Leslie- Hey girl!!!! Such a nice surprice to see you. Wow, you do have a busy week but it does sound fun. Enjoy and have a great holidays!

Cindy- You are really cranking them out. I love the goody bags you made. What machine did you use? Amazing!

Linda- SO sorry to hear that about your friend. Hope he recovers well. Also, congrats on your new home. That will be exciting to designs it from the beginning. So fun!

Hope everyone else is doing well. Take care!

Cindy, thanks for your reply about the paper. It's really cute. You made such good use of it I thought you had tailored it yourself.

Val-I love your rhyme about the pillowcases! I just may use that.

Kelly-no, we're done with traveling for awhile. We're staying home with no company coming. It's nice that we get to keep it simple.

Jon is out doing the Christmas shopping for me tonight. I'm not a good decision maker so I was glad he offered to do it. I say it every year but...NEXT year the shopping will be done before Thanksgiving! Yeah, right.

Hi, Pokey Friends!
I am determined to get Christmas cards out today. We'll see how long that enthusiasm lasts!

Leslie! so good to see you stopping by. I think about you often. When I heard of the school shootings, I had to stop to think where you teach. I know how much you love your first graders. I know this is a fun time of year at school, but know you'll be exhausted by the time the children go home for the holidays. Have a wonderful Christmas! Drop by when you can! How's DH?

Angie, I can't wait to put our pillowcases on the same night you guys do. We can share your tradition long distance. Wish I could keep the children while you Christmas shop!

Kelly, more beautiful cards! Glad you are enjoying them. Wish you could come bake me some delicious dessert and remove the calories at the same time. Hugs to you.

Linda, I'm so sorry about your BF's accident. Do they know why he passed out? How's the recovery coming. I know that puts a crimp in your holiday plans. Prayers for him.

Cindy, I just love your pages. Makes me want to learn digi, but I don't have the heart to subject one of my girls to trying to teach me. Maybe I'll just start slowly and do a couple of things.

DH saw the surgeon yesterday and got good news. Another 2 weeks and he'll be able to return to normal activities. His BP is finally back to normal and the Dr. today said the infection is gone. I can't believe how much better he is feeling. Thanks for the prayers for him. I know that prayers are answered.

Sorry this is getting long again. Best wishes to all of you as you finish your Christmas shopping, activities and decorating.

Happy Tuesday! It is a chilly and slightly windy day. I got a nice gift from a friend. I was so excited to see she sent me a Sizzix embosser and a Lucky 8 puncher. I just tried the puncher and it is so cool! It takes a 12x12 pp and turning it into a lacy circle. Can't wait to see what I do with this.

Also, I got a very nice watercolor kit from my mil. It is so amazing and now I feel motivated to get back into painting. So cool! So Santa came early with these fun gifts.

I am in craft heaven over here. I am still drawing and crocheting. I will share some of these crafts soon. Plus, I ordered an Anna Griffin floral card kit from HSN. I can't wait to get it. It looks very nice and easy. I need some easy cards to make. Those Christmas cards were so tough to figure out. So bring on the easy peasy!!!

Nylene- That is great business about your dh. Did you get those card mailed? Doesn't it feel good when those things are in the mail?

Angie- I know you will enjoy being home for the holidays. How did the shopping go?

Cindy- What are ya up to today?

Hello my sweet Pokey friends,

Everyone ready for next Tuesday? Not me. I still have a few things to get and I haven't started wrapping. I'm going to make a couple of awesome Christmas goodies I found at Closet Cooking (I love his recipes) and Pinterest. I'm going to try some amazing cookies and a pumpkin roll that would make you .
I tried to take it easy today and get a little caught up with my Project Life (PL). I'm a couple months behind in journaling and I don't have any pics printed for November in it. I did work on December today though and put a couple of pics about the horrific shooting last week and the sad day last Saturday my friend passed away. She's been suffering from colon cancer. She's not suffering anymore bless her heart.

Cindy, thank you so very much for thinking of me and sending me that beautiful handmade card! I love it!

Linda, we came close to building but I couldn't afford a lot that wasn't in a new development..I gotta have me some mature trees . It will be fun for you though to pick all your colors and finishes. So, are there wedding bells in the near future? I'm so sorry he fell. He's so lucky it was a leg and not his head .

Hey LESLIE!!!! It's so nice to see you stopping by!! You are missed my friend!

Cindy, so how did it go with you know who at school?

Nylene, that's terrific news about Steve! What a relief that must be to both of you. Hugs!!

I made my first wrist warmer. Or you could call it a fingerless glove. I'll post it on my blog as I seem to be impatient with the adding a photo process here..photobucket and codes etc.

Well, I just wanted to pop in and say hi. I forget that ever since 2peas changed it's design, I can't praise while using Firefox. I have to exit and then re-enter using IE . I'll stop by again to get caught up in that department.

Hugs to all and happy shopping and baking etc.

Hi Everyone! Stopped by to let you know the elf had a great time at the kids school! He spent the morning in Maggie's classroom and the afternoon in Bobby's! Maggie had to tell the story of how she got the elf and explained how he can't be touched etc. Bobby's teacher said he was so excited to see the elf in the classroom he could hardly contain himself! He told me exactly where the elf sat while he was there and all the details of the visit! Jeremy almost got caught taking him in and picking him up! He thought the kids were on the bus then he heard Maggie's voice in the hallway! LOL Oh these elves are so much fun!

I baked cookies this morning and packed up treats for the boxes so I can take them today and the kids can take them to school Friday-I'm not there tomorrow! I have so much scrapping to do but I guess it will have to wait!

Nylene-I am so glad to hear that Steve is doing better! I was really worrying about him! He will enjoy the holiday so much more now!

Kelly-I am so glad to hear you so chipper! What a great gift from your friend! Waiting to see what you do with it!

Val-wish your life would slow down a little so you could enjoy the holidays more. So sorry to hear of the loss of your friend-I am sure you will miss her.

A big Hi and Happy Holidays to all of my favorite Peas! I miss hearing from everyone!

Hugs, Cindy

Hello My Friends,

Nylene - I'm so glad your dh received encouraging news from his physician. Prayers are definitely answered. My own dh recently made a visit to the er with an injured disc in his back. He has always been an exercise/good health guru (unlike me - bring on the CHIPS!) but he learned the hard way that a 55 year old man doesn't necessarily need to run 6 miles daily. Thank goodness, he has now eliminated that from his routine and returned to just walking.

I'm grateful my own kiddos did not mention the Sandy Hook tragedy when we returned to school on Monday. My church laid hands on all teachers Sunday morning just so we would have the right words to say if we had kids who needed to talk about it.

Cindy - I am so tickled at the ELF story! That is SO going to be a part of my classroom next year. I had thought about purchasing one myself however the time just got away from me this year. I sponsored an intern from our local university and she required a bit more motivation than others that I've mentored.

Kelly - You have been blessed with so many goodies and it's not EVEN Christmas! How did you manage that? Send pointers, please.

Valerie - I'm sorry to hear of the loss of your friend. I'll agree she is pain free now. Our small town recently lost a high school graduate (in my son's class) that was attending his first semester of college in Mobile. Such a sad story and a tragic waste.

Will close for now. I need to go to bed EARLY so I can be well rested for our party day tomorrow. Let the festivities BEGIN!

Leslie

Cindy, you are such a wonderful grandma. Love the visiting elf and the cookies for school. Here we can't bake anything for school..it must all be store bought. Sad! Happy Birthday tomorrow, my friend! I hope this next year brings you mountains of happiness!

Linda, flood away. So fun to see the changes in your home. Will you be able to leave it now??? How's the BF doing?

Leslie, I'm glad your children were not traumatized by the tragic shootings. Keep those little sweeties safe.

Val, I'm so sorry about the passing of your friend. It's so hard to see them go. Are you ready for Christmas? and a move? Wish you could send me a piece of your pumpkin cake. I never bake now since we started this diet.

Kelly, so glad you are in "craft heaven" with your new gifts. I love to hear you sound so upbeat and ready to tackle the world. Let us see what you create.

Angie, we rode the Frontrunner to SLC to hear Meg sing on Temple Square. Their Maple Mountain combined choruses are SO GOOD! We went to 2 performances, had lunch and by then your dad was exhausted. (Can't believe he even wanted to go!) We hopped the train back and arrived just as it got dark. Happy Anniversary yesterday! We celebrated #45 yesterday by going to a movie! So fun to share an anniversary with you.

I need to get busy. I have a houseful of grandchildren coming in an hour. We have really missed having them all around, with DH not feeling well. We need to plan a big sleepover for some night next week.

In case I don't get back to this thread until after Tuesday, I want to wish each of you and your families a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. Well, I know I'll be back on before the New Year, but just had to add that!

I'm with Cindy about 2 pages! We are rockin! Just finished leaving love--hope I didn't miss anything! Running crazy here, but having a lot of fun with the kiddos! We started Elf on the Shelf this year. Cindy, it is so cool that you had yours show up at school!

Nylene, I am so glad your dh is feeling better! Thank God for answered prayers.

Val-I am sorry to hear of your friend's passing.

Well, the kids are out of school and my husband finished his first semester of PTA school. I haven't gotten many layouts done, but I did convert 5 linen placemats from Target to wonderful Christmas pillows for the kids teachers and made several digital prints for my new neice and great-nephews rooms as presents. When I sat down and began organizing all the little gifts for people at school and church, I realized we had 32 gifts between all three kiddos! Whew! I'm glad I got them all given out and hope I didn't miss anyone!

So, I hope everyone has a wonderful Christmas! Here's the only page I have gotten done this week:
Season of Wonder

Been there, done that--have the layout!

A young kiddo hugged me at dismissal Thursday afternoon...

He sounded so disappointed when he said, "Awww... Mrs. Stephenson, my arms won't go all the way around you!"

Bless his bones, his comment should be sufficient encouragement to LAY OFF the chips, for goodness sake!

Hey all! I hope you are doing well. I was so happy to get my Anna Griffin card kit this week. It is full of spring colors and flowers. I was impressed with the amount of stuff the kit had. So I am ready to dig in. Yes, I am in craft heaven and loving it. Crocheting, baking, cards, drawing, and more. It is so funny how I am so into crafts. I remember yrs ago going to craft stores and not being interested in almost anything. Now I could find something in every section.

Cindy- Was it your birthday???? I hope we didn't miss it. If so,hope you had a blast! How did the teachers love the cute packages you sent?

Nylene/Angie- Happy Anniversaries!!! Nylene, 45 yrs? Wow! That is so beautiful and wishing you both many, many more yrs to come. Angie, how many for you?

Val- I will have to stop by your blog to see your wrist bands. I am crocheting and want to learn to actually make something. But I did see a video on the basic and a few blogs. So I hope to learn something new soon.

Leslie- I say enjoy the goodies! After all that teaching you deserve lots of sweets.

Linda- Bring on the flood of pages. I am going to take a look.

Hi Ladies,

Buzzing by to see what everyone's up to.

Nylene- So glad that Steve is so much better. Also, I won't have too many problems picking out the things for the new house cause' I'm picky. But I know I don't want baby poop yellow in my kitchen like they had in the one they showed me. Yuck!!!

Val - I bet you're going to miss that beautiful sun room. My lot is included in the price of the property.

Kelly - Keep those beautiful cards coming.

Beffie - How sweet was that little little boy hugging you.

Cindy - Hope you had a wonderful birthday.

If I missed you, forgive me, I still trying to learn everyone's name.

Happy Sunday! We hope to get out later and drive around to see some of the homes and their holiday decorations and light. We just love doing this every year. There is one house that has an elaborate light & music show on their house! You tune in to this station on the radio and you can hear the music that is coordinated with the light show. Amazing!!!!

Here are a few more cards I made. Christmas Cards

Cindy- Officially, HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU!!! Hope you are still celebrating and enjoying your day!

Good Morning Ladies,

Sorry for the flood lately. I don't usually have this many pages, but I've this pile of pages on my desk forever, so I decided I wanted to clean my table off and the only way to do it was to scrap them.

Hope everyone has a great Christmas Eve.

Hi everyone! Thanks so much for the birthday wishes! I had a great one! Becky and her family brought me my favorite local pizza and a cherry pie for my birthday dinner. The best part was spending time with family!!!
I also want to wish everyone a very Merry Christmas! I wish you all peace, joy and love now and in the future! I also pray for Peace on Earth-so desperately.

I will be going back and catching up on my praising-can't wait to see what you have all done!

Here's a page I did this morning as I just had to scrap a page now baking pies and some cinnamon raisin breads as gifts.

Merriment

Merry Christmas to all of You!

Good Morning Ladies. Christmas Eve was wonderful my brother roasted a pig and it was delicious. Today Stan is frying a turkey and a standing rib roast. two of the kids cold not join us one waited for the last minute to get his ticket so from San Diego to Miami was almost $900 not happening and the other one is in Costa Rica and just did not want to travel. So it's 5 kids and my sister and mom, still a big bunch.

I have been more than pokey this month, but come January I'm going to scrap again. Keep telling myself that.

I am getting ready for Natalie's birthday on Saturday, girls are going to bake cupcakes and make pizza. I did make her invitations and a really cute banner I will post it later.

Hope everyone is having a wonderful Christmas.

Merry Christmas Pokeys

Just the 4 of us today, but we are used to that, and enjoy the relaxed atmosphere The kids both got a laptop, and I got some new running gear and accessories. Mark set his present up weeks ago, as he bought himself a home theatre system. I did get him a electric corkscrew though

We went to the neighbourhood pizza party gathering last night, a wonderful tradition that we all really enjoyed. They did a Yankee gift swap (aka an elephant gift swap) which was a hoot, and we ended up with some cool gifts The Starbucks gift cards were the most swapped items, those guys love their coffee

Tomorrow we are having some of our British friends over, for Boxing Day - another day of copious eating and drinking

Enjoy your day, and I hope Santa was good to you xxx

I have just returned to Two Pea after quite a bit of time away, (although I was still actively scrapping). POKEY PEAS challenges looks like the place for me to be. Will you be continuing with the challenge in 2013. Can I still do December (4 layouts) even though it is the 28th? I will be scrapping in my new scrap room (posted in my Gallery - can anyone tell me how to create a link in a post?) for the very first time this weekend. I am excited. We finished the project a few weeks ago but I have not gotten a chance to scrap (and my scrap table is still on order) but I am bringing out the old table for this weekend so I can scrap.

Good Morning to YOU!

Cindy: It has been awhile, hasn't it?! I have sincerely missed my creative outlet and hope to return to it completely this next week (my holiday continues!). Just last night I unpacked some "stuff" and created a layout for ds.

Are you strictly digital these days or a combination of the two?

And yes... I spent a portion of Christmas Night in my parents' storm shelter. We "officially" broke it in when a thunderstorm with strong rotation noted on radar passed directly over our heads. Scary stuff.

Nylene: I imagine the same storm that brought severe weather to my area must have dumped snow at your home!

Kelly: The "girls" in my family (sisters, mother, dd) usually drive through the neighborhoods to check out the Christmas displays but we did not get a chance to do so this year. Schools were not released until the 21st and only THEN did I start to shop! Christmas Eve was spent at my parents' home and by Christmas Day Night the weather did not want to cooperate. We'll have to try again next year, I guess.

MovieGal: Please post a picture of your new scrapbook table! I always enjoy looking at that kind of stuff. Gives me ideas, too!

Sarah: Until your post, I had not heard of Boxing Day. Since then, I've seen it on a blog that I read frequently. Define, please!

Linda: You have been very productive these last few days! The remodeling layouts you posted earlier have inspired me to start something similar.

Must close for now... Here is my December contribution... My Senior Year

I'm off to catch up on praising your projects!

Sorry, I've been away from the computer and having lots of fun with the grandchildren who had a sleepover after Christmas.

I'll catch up later today, but wanted to welcome MeMovie to the thread. We would love to see your 4 layouts for Dec. Post whatever you finish, whether 2 or 20. This is a no pressure challenge, and the only prize is the praise from other Pokeys. We are happy to welcome you. This challenge will continue into 2013. I will post a new thread on Monday the 31st.

I'm sending you a peamail on how to post a link to your layout.

Be back later.

ETA: I'm caught up!

Leslie, I saw the tornado on the news and as soon as I hear Alabama, I thought of you. DH is used to me saying, "Oh, no, I have a friend in Alabama,..Connecticut...Ohio...wherever." He usually just adds, "A pea?"
Glad you were all OK. It looked so scary. I HATE wind with a passion.

MeMovieGal, tell us a little about yourself. I love the album you posted. Follow my instructions to post a link, and let me know if you have problems.

Cindy, I love your photos of your grands involved in the preparation for Christmas. What great memories they will have of you.

Linda, flood away!

Diana, sounds like lots of fun and lots of good food.

Sarah, yes, explain Boxing Day.

Kelly, your cards are beautiful. What are you working on now?

I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas. We were really dumped on with snow. But if you are not on the roads, it's so beautiful.

Waving to all of you. I'm hoping to change my messy room back into a scrap room today and to catch up on the laundry.

I just stopped by to see what is happening!

MeMovieGal-so glad to have you here at the Pokey Peas! Can't wait to see your work and I will be going over to see your scrap room. Tell us a little about yourself also! I am Cindy, wife, mom and grandma of 2. I live in NE Ohio and we just got about 8 inches of snow dumped on us and a few more coming! I am a retired nurse and enjoy doing what I want to do when I want to do it! LOL My passion is scrapping! I was going to tell you a quick way to link your layouts is to copy the URL, then below these boxes you will see URL, click on it and box will come up in the left hand upper corner. You can paste the link there, then hit ok, the a second box will come up where you can add your title!

Leslie-not completely digi but I have been taking some classes which I thought was a great way to learn Photoshop at the same time. I really enjoy the digi but I am going to answer your question by saying I am both!!! I was doing calenders for DH , and I figured the easy way to do JYC was digi. I am going to try PL digi and scrap my other stuff paper! Best of both worlds as you can use templates for PL and just drop in your photos and journaling!

Nylene -glad to see you return! I miss you when you are gone! Can't wait to hear about your holiday fun!

BBL!

Hmm... I seem to be missing something. When viewing a lo, some say "Add a Comment? after which I can hover over the link and it changes colors.
The last 2 or 3 I've viewed however, don't have it and I can't post.
I need the "How to Comment on a LO" refresher course!

Thank you Nylene for the link instructions and the nice comments on my Family Reunion Album.

A little about myself? Yikes. Well I love to scrapbook. I do both traditional and digital and I guess I do some hybrid too. I am excited to be back with the Peas and looking forward to being part of a scrapbooking community. I live in a fairly rural area and not much scrapbooking is going on nearby. I work full time, my husband just retired in February. We like to to RVing during the summer, but with me working it is mostly just on weekends and a couple weeks vacation time. My scrapping buddy is my cat Desmond (will post layouts of him on it soon. In fact I have lots of layouts I will be posting. I crave constructive criticism, really, I want negatives when you see negatives. I know this is art, and to each his own, but I would really like to know when I get the technical things incorrect on a page. Obviously visually I like my own work or I would not be completing the layouts, but sometimes I feel like a really don't know what I am doing at all.

I am excited to be posting to the POKEY PEAS, and look forward to 2013 and the challenges.

I am trying out my link instructions here.

MeMovieGal, you did it correctly. Glad to see that it worked. We will enjoy seeing any layouts you would like to post. How long did it take you to do that family album. Do you have a first name we can use, or do you prefer your username?

Leslie, if you click on the quick look of the layout, there is nowhere to post a comment. I have to be careful to click on the title, not just the layout. Hope you got it figured out. Cindy can walk us through anything!!

Val, how's the moving going?

I'm just finishing up a layout tonight. I'll scan it and post it soon. This always happens when I'm cleaning my scraproom. I find something cool, which gives me an idea, and then the room is a total mess again. But at least I scrapped. I can always clean up tomorrow.

Have a great evening.

Nylene, my real name is Maribeth.

Just complete my first layout in my new scrap room. I will take photos of layouts in daylight tomorrow and post.

It did not take me long to do the family album. I do have to say, digital is much faster than traditional, but I just can't give up the traditional. I was not the photographer, my nephew Steve was the official photographer of the event, but he let me use the photos and I put into the album.
