Hello! Hope you are having a good Saturday! Gary and Joey are off snow camping near Mt. Rainier with cub scouts. Brrrr.... I'm toasty warm at home Bobby had a game last night that was a nail biter- they pulled it out though. He has another today, but I'm skipping to take Rebecca to the local drama school "Twas the night" production. Too expensive to take the whole family, but she will really enjoy it. Good girls night.
Tina- great news about your Mom. Can I hire Olivia to do my shopping to?
Monica B- hope you are recovering well.
Theresa- isn't that how it goes?? and if you left it all at home, you'd be wanting it.
Linda must be wedding dress shopping.
Ok, don't faint, but here are some layouts!!

Tina that's awesome news! Hope they can figure out what fungus it is and get rid of it soon.
Tammy sounds like a fun girl's night out.
Went to my sister's food party, food was delicious. Never heard of it before but the company has been around for 17 years. Ended up spending almost $70 but got some great spices and mixes to make 10 meals with just simple cupboard ingredients added so that's not bad at all. Came in, wrapped a few presents, took a game over to my niece and now taking a quick break before running back out the door to go to the Cantata at church. Almost went to The Nutcracker but didn't want to go by myself. Randy's doing sound for the Cantata and all my local peeps have other things to do. Think I'll go shopping after church tomorrow so I know I won't want to go tomorrow night so tonight or nothing.
Quick Christmas ornament idea for you. Take a glass or plastic ball ornament. Add a little floor wax like Mop and Shine to the inside. Swirl it around to coat the inside really well. Add glitter and shake it up til it coats the whole inside. I used green and painted a Grinch face on mine because I found it on this website but didn't think it would work until I saw one my cousin made today. (there is a link there where it says on this website) You could do it in any color of glitter though without painting anything else on. It looks really pretty. Gotta run.

BTT - Page 2
Looks as if everyone is very busy this weekend. Ha, my intention to do the Christmas tags yesterday never happened. I ended up vegging on the couch the whole afternoon. It's been a long week and I just needed a break.
Tammy - you've been busy. So many LOs. I'll go praise soon. Hope you have a great outing with DD.
Tina - That's great news about your mom! A fungus is much easier to get rid of.
Melanie - those sound like fun things in the etsy shop. I can't believe the old wallpaper books haven't gone yet. They are such useful things. Heinrich has forbidden me to get any though - says my scrap stash is bad enough...
Have a restful Sunday! | |

AH THERESA I would have gone to the NUTCRACKER with you. I was thinking about that today that it's been forever since I've gone, and we have a great one with Maurice Sendak's artwork, but alas my boys went once several years ago and vowed NEVER to go again. THey couldn't see how anyone would want to watch a bunch of people dancing around...LOL Perhaps they will grow into it. the music is fantastic. Now I have to go dig out my NUTCEACKER suite and put it on while I decorate the house tomorrow.
got the boys' hair cut but not much else. Did try to go to the stores, ended up at only one store which took forever only to find they didn't have what I wanted even though the website said they did. Oy and I drove 1 hr just to pick it up too. Back to the drawing board.
TAMMY hope you enjoued your girls night out. I love plays. Nice job getting caught up on the tag challenge.
MICHELLE you should be on holiday now, right?
I know I had something I wanted to say, but my brain stopped working. Guess at 1 a.m. I'm not as sharp as I thought I was. Oh well, maybe I
will remember tomorrow (well later today),
Sleep well everyone.

Debi- the kids are on holiday now (Yipee!) but I am still working. Though only half-days, so we will have time to spend with the kids. Heinrich finishes on Friday, then he is off till the 7th. The whole bulding industry comes to a standstill for almost a month as even the municipalities close for the holidays. He's at work today to try to finish some stuff before then.
I finally cought up with all the praising while doing my tags. This is such fun! Almost instant gratification as they are so small.

Praised mark again. I'm determined to keep up!
Debi, it is a shame you don't live closer. We could do all kinds of fun stuff!
Of course, I think that is a true statement for all of you!!!
Couldn't force myself out of the bed this morning. Sad since I went to bed at 9. Feel much better though so must have been what I needed. Going to head out in a bit and go shopping in Bowling Green. Going all by myself so I can go where I want and get out. I'd like to get everything finished but doubt it will happen. I've never been this far behind on Christmas. Don't even have a single card finished!

Good morning. It's our weekend to teach at church again- but Gary is gone so I'm doing it with the youth pastor. We'll see how it goes. THe lesson plan is all over the place and really over the kid's heads- but I don't want to say that to him because I think he wrote it. LOL. Then I need to come home and get in Martha Stewart mode- our PTSA does a "cookie swap" for the teachers- we give them tins to fill with cookies that the parents have made. I'm going to double all the recipes and give some to neighbors too.
Rebecca and I enjoyed the play- the theater was much smaller than I expected- no wonder they sell out every year. LOL. It was really cute though. I've taken Rebecca to the Nutcracker before, but only a local school production. The ticket price for the real ballet makes me choke. I'm a cheapskate
Michelle- enjoy the time with the kids. It makes them back in school sweeter
The tags are fun, huh?! I rediscovered all sorts of holiday stamps and goodies I have in my stash. I haven't scrap shopped in 3 years except a few meager dollars here and there(usually when Monica B comes and we embark on finding a scrap store). You can't tell at all by my supplies though. Like dieting, more goes in than comes out in sweat.
Theresa- good luck at shopping today. I still haven't made it into the room to wrap/inventory what I have.
Debi- hope you got some rest. I was knocked out at 9:30, but up at 5:30. Guess it was enough sleep because I was wide awake.

Good morning, I knew I was exhausted, I slept until 11:30am I feel so much better about life, but now I have to hustle the rest of the day to finish everything in my to do list and trust me it's a huge list, to include Christmas decorating.
I have not bought one thing! Except for a ring and watch that I got Monica because I sell them not a single decoration has gone up. I have never been this late before.
Tina...Glad to hear your mom is cancer free, praying that the treatment goes well.
Tammy...We use to take the older kids when they where little, to the on performed by the Miami City Ballet, my ex's boss use to always give us tickets it was nice, a few years ago we too Natalie to a much smaller one (still expensive but almost 1/2 the price), because Stan gets free tickets it was just as beautiful. Like the idea of the cookie swap.
Theresa... Those ornaments are adorable! I should make one for Stan! LOL! Have fun shopping, hope you get it all done.
Michelle...Can't wait to see those tags.
Going to get going here. Really have so much to do and I have not made my tag for tomorrow, I made one but I don't know if I like it.
Have a great Sunday!

Successful day! Found parking spots near the door at every store and some great buys. Ended up getting Austin an electric keyboard instead of a drum set. A whole lot cheaper, especially because I found it on sale. It's a full sized one with a stand and has buttons to push for drum accompaniment as well as the other instruments. I think he'll do better playing it than drums. He's learning music from a neighbor who is teaching him the guitar as well as his music teacher at school. Michelle played the piano when she was little so she can help him with it. Got Jackson some funny T-shirts to go with his game, Randy some goodies (in case he's lurking) and a few things for others. Not done but feel much better about the progress. Need to find Joyce/Charlie both a little something else, my sister something and add a few things for a stress relief basket I'm putting together for my secret Santa gift at work. Have no idea what to get the docs or my office manager. I think I'll be done then.

Happy Monday Sweet Peas!
Tammy - Going with Becca to the play sounds like so much fun. My girls and I plan to go see Les Mis at the movies the day after Christmas, we're excited about it coming out. Good job on getting some scrapping done!
Theresa - I really want to get cards sent out this Christmas too. I hope you are able to get yours done. I didn't even plan on making them myself, I just wanted to find time to address some. One of my friends sells Tastefully Simple, I got a few things from them the last time she invited me, it's good stuff.
Diana - I hope you are able to get all of your Christmas stuff done in time. BTW, I'm loving the tags that you & Debi are getting done...so pretty.
I hope you all have a great day, I'm off to throw together Grif's lunch for school.

Happy Monday, all (is that an oxymoron?)
Sorry to have been away so long. Things got a bit crazy towards the end of last week and I didn't get a lot of computer time over the weekend.
Our excitement for the weekend was at the Christmas Tree farm in the mountains near our house. This farm was new to us and it was GREAT. Lots of tree choices, a snack bar with hot chocoloate, and these really cute little 'elf houses' for children to play in/on/around. One of them was tree house...two stories up. Stuart Julia up while I stayed on the ground with the baby. When Stuart and J were on the landing (1/2 way to the tree house; about 12 or 13 feet up the tree) it got crowded with people coming down from above, and more people going up behind them. There were 10 or 12 people on it when it started to COLLAPSE~!! I heard loud cracking-splitting noises coming from the deck and ran over to see the deck HANGING down and Stuart closest to where it had come apart!! I ran to the steps and started helping people down the stairs as best I could (holding CJ in my arms!) I heard Stuart call to Julia (they had been separated in the crowd) but I could already see her at that point. The grown ups all sent the children down the ladder/stairs first and then they came down (Stuart last because he went UP to make sure no one else was up top before coming down). The whole things was so upsetting I wanted to cry, but couldn't because I didn't want Julia to be any more upset than she already was. Now THAT was an experience for your scrapbook, huh?!
I'm going to open a new window so I can write as I read...

Me again,
TONI - so sorry about your SIL. {{hugs}} For you and your husband.
MONICA -- glad to hear the surgery went well...but noticing you're not around much. Are you not resting??? You really need to take it easy so you can heal!
DEBI -- loving your tags! Question about marriage in WA: do heterosexual marriages require a 3 day waiting period??
DIANA -- I hope you got some relaxation time this weekend. It sounds like you're really busy lately. Loving the tag challenges. I'm gonna get back on it tonight!
THERESA -- How's CHUCK? Did he leave??
TINA -- GREAT NEWS about your mom! So happy for you all. Will keep you in my thoughts as she fights the fungus. Do they have a plan for that fight?!
There was more I wanted to say but both girls are awake and I need to get J ready for school! She was up late last night because we went on a Holiday train ride, so she slept in. Now we're late.
Hi Melanie, Tammy & all!!

WOW BARB so scary but glad it had a happy ending. Surprised there wasn't a number/weight limit posted on the treehouse. That could have ended very badly. SO happy it didn't.
MONICA B I guess you ARE doing very well after surgery as you've done more than I and I DIDN'T have surgery. LOL Glad you are doing so well.
THERESA what's the update on you and CHUCK? May have to use tough love and kick the guy out.
I got my tree up but not decorated yet. At least it's out of the box. Did get some of the house decorated last night, but have more to do.
Not feeling very well today, but no time to relax unfortunately.
well I'm off to accomplish something...I hope. Hope you are too.

Hi, Sherri! Welcome back.
Sorry to be absent again. I don't think I told you I had DH in the ER again last week. We've seen 3 doctors since, regarding 3 different problems. Seems like we just get one better and another creeps up. He is doing OK, but he knows he's not well. He didn't even attempt Church yesterday, which is a real change for him. He sleeps most of the day. I do think he is getting on top of things, but it has been a long haul. He's learning to take it very easy.
Toni, I am so sorry about your sister-in-law. What a tragic thing for her family. It's always so hard to lose loved ones during the holidays. Prayers for you and all her family. Glad your kids are doing so well. Isn't it nice to see them grow up and have success experiences. Even if they are just small successes, you see they have their heads on straight. That's one great blessing of motherhood, I think.
Tina, so glad your mother is cancer free. I'll keep her in my prayers as they treat the fungus. Are you wearing yourself out? Be careful, we don't want you getting over-tired and sick. Hugs to you and your family.
Melanie, how's your dad?
Theresa, hope your head is clearing.
Praisemark
It took me so long to catch up on praise, I'm out of chat time. I'll catch up next time. Hope you are all having fun Christmas preparations.

Hi Sherri, good to see you!
Barb, so glad no one was hurt. I'd have probably cried all the way home. I'm strong as an ox during the actual emergency but totally fall apart later.
Nylene, so sorry that Steve is not doing well. He may need a pacemaker. Sounds like his blood pressure is so low that he isn't getting enough oxygen to give him energy to just do life.
Just have a few minutes, Jeremy will be home in a bit. The guy that lives across the street from me (the one that married the gal with the three kids) is one of Jeremy's childhood friends and his grandfather died so J came in for the funeral. I went by the funeral home but didn't stay long.

WELCOME BACK SHERRI, glad you have time to come around now. The tags have been fun to make.
I've been fighting a headache all day but I'm suspected it is coming from my teeth...I need to talk to you MONICA on how to find someone to work on my teeth. I'd prefer to see if the teeth are salvageable rather than remove them, but I know root canals and crowns are prohibitive cost wise. Not having insurance sucks doesn't it?
I went to the store to get another Christmas gift only to find it isn't available in the store, only on-line. Heck I wanted to pay cash not by credit card. They suggested I buy a giftcard and use that but if the person returns the item they can't get the money back, only the amount on a giftcard (even if I paid cash in the store) --I hate when stores force you to buy stuff at their store, especially if you are returning something you didn't like. SO guess I'll use my credit card then send a money order to pay the bill.
So guess I should finish my online shopping so everything gets here on time.

Barbara - Wow! That would have scared me senseless but so glad it turned out all right. DH sounds like an amazing guy going up again to make sure everyone is okay. Keeper! Glad the day was fun up till that point.
Sherri - Welcome back! I hear you on the time-constraints. I need a few 36hour days... can I put it on my wish-list for Santa? (Along with Heinrich's 'world domination' one, lol)
Monica - I'm so glad you are recovering so well. I know you were dreading it but it really seems to have gone off without a hitch. Just take it easy(er) for a few more days
Nylene - Sorry to hear Steve is still struggling. Prayers for you both.
Now I need to go to the bank - for some reason my credit card isn't linked on internet banking anymore and I NEED it to be. Ugh! Hate dealing with banks at the best of times...
Have a great day! | |

Well Jeremy showed up right when I was posting last night so I just turned off the computer and never got back on 2Ps. Danny (guy across the street), his Mom (it was her Dad) and his Grandmother were shocked but so very thrilled that he drove all the way to come to the funeral. The man had been sick for a few weeks but just died late Saturday and Jeremy actually found out before I did. He luckily had today off from work and just left immediately after work last night to get here in time. He has to go back home before I get off work tonight so he can work tomorrow. Yep, may fuss about him not giving me the same courtesy occasionally but I've raised a fine young man when it comes to thoughtfulness for others.
Worked my butt off yesterday. The didn't call me all day Friday (I went to the outlying clinic) and I was thrilled but it was because they just left everything for me to do when I got back yesterday. I spent the whole day playing catch up for stuff that they could have done Friday themselves. SO annoying. Thankfully we weren't too busy yesterday and BD was in a good mood which makes things run smoothly for everyone.
Diana, I sure had hoped to make those tags! They're all so cute. Even drug out the stuff the other day, just didn't get it done.
Well I've written a book and need to get with it. Have a great Tuesday all.

Welcome back Sherri!
Barbara- how scary. Angels were around holding that up while everyone got off safely for sure.
Theresa- ugh- don't you hate coming back to a pile of work?! That was sweet of Jeremy to drive home for the funeral. He is a good kid.
Nylene- praying for Steve. So hard on you too, I'm sure.
Monica B- good luck at the job fair. The right one wil come along.
I've been super busy and it's not ending anytime soon (like everyone else I'm sure!). Gotta drop off the 6 dozen cookies I baked for the teacher cookie swap, have my annual gyn appt, dog to groomer, meeting girlfriends for our monthly lunch, then this afternoon a research study and basketball game. all today. whew. Need coffee in a bad way but I'm fasting so I can get labs done.

Seems our days are getting fuller and fuller especially as the Holidays draw closer. I've got a bunch on my plate too, but in the middle of it all, I have to take the boys' in to the dentist for checkups and cleaning...braces next week...oooh!
Body still hurting today but i'm going to have to push through the pain and get the house in order. Looks like we're living in one of those shows featured on Hoarders right now, and really, I'm not a hoarder...well not at that level anyway.
DIANA your link to Tim Holtz's blog didn't work, so here's the link if anyone wants to preview his tags of prior years. They are pretty impressive...hard to pick only one to lift.
Tim Holtz's blog
Was going to make my tag but may have to wait on that today, in lieu of getting some higher priority things done.
Way to jump in there SHERRI with the tags.

Debi, I'm still around but not for long. Headed to bed.
Evening everyone else that seems to be missing. Just popping on to say hi. ROUGH day at work, came home chilled and watched TV before making 9 Grinch ornaments. Well glittering and painting, they're not actually finished yet because I still need to add the black marker details. It really is fun to swirl that floor cleaner around and then add glitter. Would be really pretty in any color glitter without even painting the outside. May have to stop at HL tomorrow and buy more clear ornaments, LOL.

Good morning!
It's a kinda historic day today - 12/12/12. Remember to take some photos and scrap them!
I'm still rushing around too. It's just Kyle and myself this morning as the 2 older boys slept over at a neighbour's house last night. It's so quiet, lol I'm going to use the oppertunity to get to the shops - it's easier with only one i still haven't started gift shopping but am just totally uninspired this year. It's been such a tough one on all levels that I'm just drained. Really need a proper holiday, but will have to be satisfied with taking things a little easier with the kids off school.
Need to do the tags for day 10 and 11 and post the others, but first need to get to the shops. I THINK I have my priorities straight, lol.

Michelle, sounds like you've got your priorities straight to me!
Happy 12/12/12 Day, last day like that in your lifetime. Good day to scrap a page about yourself and what your goals are in life!!!! Actually if you think about it, every day is the last day like it in your lifetime. You'll never have a 12/11/12 again either. Make every day count.

I finished the tags!
Here they are: 12 tags of Christmas
The Tim Holtz inspired one was tag#5 of 2011. I also didn't have a Grinch, but used the sketch instead (as Diana said we could).
Theresa - I think that's a brilliant idea to take stock of life right now. Yeah, we won't ever have it again but 13/13/13 isn't possible, so that's it for another 100 years DON'T see myself around for the next one

Good morning!!!
ON THE TWELFTH DAY OF CHRISTMAS MY TRUE LOVE GAVE TO ME.........
It's a bittersweet day, I've had so much fun seeing all the cards everyone has created.
Remember you have until Midnight your time tomorrow December 13th, to post your card to enter the drawing for the $20 gift certificate to the scrapbook store of your choice. I'm going to put all the names from here and ScrapNchat together and Natalie will pick one on Friday!!
I love Santa, I collect them and I love vintage images of him, so for our last tag let's do a Santa Image, any style in any form. Have fun.
Thank you ladies for playing along, it was fun and now you have 12 beautiful tags.

Hi ladies,
I'm off to work soon, I'm so tired this house looks like a hurricane hit it, but I'm almost done with the decorating. Then it's just putting all these boxes away.
Here are Day 7 to 12 of my 12 Days of Christmas tags
Thanks to all who participated.

Hi there all,
I can tell everyone is busy...I'm just coming by to post my next 4 tags for Diana's challenge. (Days 6, 7, 8 & 9).
I am not ready for Christmas. Not even close. And today I realized that I have to GET ready by the 22nd because we leave for Tahoe that day. And I have to bring Christmas with us!! Blaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah! It's going to be a little crazy around here for the next week or so.
We do have some fun social engagements this weekend and my niece is coming to stay a few nights, too. I'm excited for the fun part of the Holidays to start.
NYLENE: I hope Steve is feeling better. I'm sorry to hear that he's struggling. I'm thinking of you both.
THERESA: Some things never change...coming back to an over-loaded desk of work---figures, right?! If only you could 'train' your co workers like you raised your son!! Clearly you know what you're doing!
MONICA: yikes, back to the dentist already!? bummer. sorry.
Here are my tags. I hope everyone is finding time to enjoy themselves!

Good evening, ladies.
Is 2Ps not working outside of California?? I know it's a busy time of year, but WOW no one on our little chat ALL afternoon?!
I hope you are all having a pleasant evening. I am in scrap room making the last of my 12 tags. It really has been a lot of fun.
I'll try to post them tonight, but I might go to bed early instead.
'Nite 'nite!!

Hello - yes, it is busy for everyone isn't it! Really, I can't believe how fast December has gone.
Don't think I'll get any tags made, but I've enjoyed looking at everyone elses. I have made some fun 8x8 pages for our cat's album. Totally no stress pages - the best kind.
Take care all! | |

well it's nearly 11 pm but I think I'll try to do the last tag as tomorrow is super busy.
I have to take kids to school as usual,
I have an appointment at 9 (hopefully won't take more than 1 hr)
need to finish decorating house, except the tree (Noah wants to help me do that. we put lights on tonight but ran out of time for the ornaments)
go to the grocery store
locate the kids' Santa hats (for their last song at tonight's concert)
find all their concert wear
make sure the camera is charged
If I have time and can locate my hairdresser (she doesn't keep regular hours) I'd love to get my hair cut
then I need to pick up boys
get their homework done
decorate the tree
take them to the basket ball game
start dinner
pick them up from the game
have dinner
get dressed for concert
go to the concert
come home an collapse
so I'd better get this tag done now. LOL
Hope everyone's day is going well.
Debi

Morning all. I typed evening first, LOL, so guess that tells you how I slept! Randy is coming down with a bug and he tossed and turned all night. Elbowed me several times, got up, went back to bed, etc. He's off today so he'll sleep all day. Yay him. Me, I'll be a zombie.
Had low air tire pressure light on in the Prius yesterday and after having a flat last week I didn't want to chance it but I won't even go into the story on trying to get it checked before I drove the hour to work. Ended up just bringing it back home and switching out to the RAV. Was a half hour late for work which started the day downhill and it just never got better. Randy took it in, nothing wrong with the tires, not sure what triggered the light. We don't have a Toyota place here, it's in Owensboro. If it does it again, I'll take it there. Still under warranty. Anyway came in, finished my Grinch ornaments and crashed.
Still haven't finished a single Christmas card so will be doing those tonight.
Debi, I'm tired reading your list. Hope you get it done.
Diana posted her Christmas decorations on FB so I know she's worn out!
Michelle, how about you and I start a petition to get Christmas moved back a month!
Waving hi to everyone else, just realized it's 6:15 and I've not even showered. Need to leave in 30 minutes! Oh yeah, going to be another fun day!

Good morning. Been up since 4:30 listening to the bear next to me sleeping. I need to get the guest bed cleaned off (full of Xmas stuff) so I have an escape. Going to be a long day- wonder if I can nap when Charley goes down. Been wrapping presents and seeing what else is on my list to buy. Took a time out to meet a friend last night at a cute cafe and had strawberry rhubarb cake. yum. Now back to the craziness. Sitting here working on a list of to-get done today.
Theresa- hope you make it to work on time! gary's tire lights go on when it's super cold outside. not sure why, but the something about the temperature.
Monica B- oh no! not another tooth. hopes its just sensitive from surgery.
Debi- did you get a haircut? I did yesterday, feels so much lighter since she thinned out my incredibly thick hair. bet I lost a pound
Michelle & Barbara- I'm with you, lets postpone Christmas another month or two or twelve.
Nylene- how's Steve? thinking of you and praying for your family.
OK, I've made myself notes for the last 4 tags. Going to work on them today. Thanks again for the fun challenge, Diana. Nothing I would have done on my own!

Good morning,
I too am sitting her writing down my unbelievably long to-do list for today. *sigh* But I'm doing in in the silence of two sleeping girls, husband left for work, sun's not up and the Christmas tree is lit. So it's really quite nice! The silence won't last long, though.
I finished my last tags for Diana's challenge but will have to come back later to post them.
THERESA, glad nothing is actually wrong with the car, but it sucks to be late for work. Good thing you have that extra auto!
DEBI, wow what a day you're going to have. I'll be thinking of you...sending you a calm moment every once in a while so you don't show up that concert with your freshly cut hair on fire! Take care of you!!
MICHELLE, yep. I could use another month all right! Who do we talk to about that?
I'm off to finish up my list and enjoy my tea while I can. Have a lovely day, ladies!!
