I'm here for the time being. Wrapping things up at work. It's the last day the university is open for a week and a half. So excited to have some much needed time off with the family. I've been on goodreads all day today, off and on while organizing the office for my boss's return. I've picked out several books to begin reading. I'm currently reading When Did I Get Like This; it's very quick/easy read, perfect for women who want to/have children. It's witty, interesting, and I find myself laughing out loud with recognition.
Anyhow... tonight I am wrapping a couple of presents. Hopefully going to join some friends with my hubs tonight if my inlaws decide to keep our daughter for the night. I think my son will just stay with us when we go out. Then I'm going to attempt to clean up the house a bit, and I know there was something else on my to do list... oh yeah, after the next couple holiday weekends, I am going to begin my crazy couponing again. I used to only spend between $200-300 a month when I was couponing on groceries and such for a family of 3-4. Now I'm spending close to $600+ to feed a family of 4. Things have GOT to change.

I am just so excited for the break. I am looking forward to louning in my clean house, making real dinners each evening, spending time with the kids, reading, getting the oven fixed, visiting with friends and family, scrapbooking the nights away, and opening presents with my lovelies!!

Thank you everyone for all the beautiful homemade cards and gifts!! I can't wait to put all this goodness to good use!! I have been so very blessed this year, and I feel like a terrible friend who didn't even send out Xmas cards to ANYONE this year!! I must look like a total scrooge

Happy Christmas/Hanukkah/Kwanzaa/New Year/Birthdays to you all!! Bless you!! And thank goodness no one took the Mayan's seriously

Hello ladies,

I hope you are all well. I'm officially on countdown for Christmas as I finished work yesterday evening. Received a super surprise gift from my boss of a voucher for 2 night b&b in a lovely hotel in Kerry. Myself & a just stayed there for one night this past weekend and had a lovely time so am v excited to be returning sometime soon Really made me feel appreciated for my hard work this past year.

So today will be spent tidying my house and last minute shopping. Wrapped a lot of presents last night...

Sorry I haven't been around much for latter part of this year. As you know, my life has been hectic to say the least!

But I am ever grateful to have found this group of kindred spirits.

Love, joy and peace to you all this Christmas and every best wish for 2013. Will endeavour to pop in to say hello more often...one needs a bright moment in days filled with work, study and housework (of course A is my ever present bright moment but a bit of chatter with YS girls always puts a smile on my face )

Have a great Christmas ladies xx

Hello ladies.

So seems like there is a nasty bug going around the house. First my youngest, then I got it yesterday morning and my oldest got it yesterday night. My husband seems to be the only one surviving it at the moment. Thinking we will have to push Christmas back just until everyone feels good enough to have a great Christmas.

Hope everyone has a great Holiday with friends and family.

Welcome newbie

I am Gabrielle from North Texas. I am 26 married with two babes. My dd is 3 and my DS is 6 months.

Happy Xmas to all of you!! I haven't had much time for scrapping since we've been visiting family, opening presents, and doing a "winter cleaning/purge/organization". It has taken us 4 days to complete the transformation at my house but having two tiny distractions makes it hard to get anything done around here.

We purged old toys to give to others since Santa is
Bringing presents tonight. Also we rearranged my sons room, my daughters room, and installed a new tv in my scraproom. We also picked up paint to paint our kitchen. It is currently a hideous shade of mustard. It will be partridge gray in a week. Blessed be

We start attending a new church on Sunday. Looking forward to that and I have a crop this Saturday. Looking forward to tomorrow morning with the kids.

Hope that all of you fine folks are having a wonderful
time with your loved ones and friends!!

Wow Gabrielle! Sounds like a busy week with Christmas, a crop, and a new church!

One family gathering down. Headed to Christmas Eve Service at church. My favorite.

Two family gatherings tomorrow, then work on Wednesday.

The weekend will consist of unpacking my scrap room and creating an office space down there so that I can work from home. I was offered a school job that was going to allow me to be closer to Millie during the day and my current boss has offered me to work from home up to 3 days a week to keep me there. So blessed.
Now I need a work area to help me be as productive as possible.

Rach: that's great news and shocking. very happy for you and Millie.

Gab: sounds like you've been very busy. I am glad you getting work done in your home and painting sounds fun.

Loni: feel better and enjoy your Christmas!

To the new comer: if you decide to join welcome. We'll have a new thread in January so make sure to keep an eye out for it. I am Elizabeth, mother of two wonderful girls and a little peanut due in July, married for 6.5 years, 27 currently until Jan.9th, and live in Oklahoma momentarily (moving to Houston in June).

Well today like any other was me laid up sick for most. Major chest pains and finding it hard to breathe. Got all the food needed so hopefully no mad dash to the store tomorrow for anything. My little ones are feeling good minus a cough from Lilo so Christmas is back on. Glad because my oldest is so excited and if it snows that would make her day for it to snow on Christmas.

Wrapped all the gifts (not much, but enough for my kids) and placed them under the tree with care. Even had Santa write a note to the family to give it more of a touch. Excited to see their little faces when they wake up to see Santa came to visit. Camera is charging so hoping to get great pictures to scrapbook.

Merry Christmas everyone! With hubby home helping me with get the house cleaned for New Years I might not get on much, but I'll try. Be safe and merry!

Aww I am stuffed, but wanted to chat a bit and say what a wonderful hubby I have. I have been talking about a spa basket while looking for gifts to send and he came through for me and also gave a facial certificate so um yeah will be getting my skin back to glowing soon I hope because me and pregnancy does not do good with my face until I hit about 6 or 7 months. I even have been crying about a bath pillow and he got me a really nice one with all kinds of expensive sensitive soaps and lotions. (Thoughtful since I get migraines from scented products). Was beyond happy this Christmas morning and my oldest was so excited to see that Santa's elf's were able to make a Brave dress. Lol. She nearly cried and it was so precious.

It snowed which mad it nice to have a white Christmas, but nothing to go play in. I am glad my girls enjoyed their Christmas and Lilo was more excited that Santa ate all his cookies. Lol.

I hope everyone had a great Christmas and got to capture the memories one way or another. I am feeling a little better so hoping once the house is organized after New Years I can get back to scrapping.

Joanna I had a friend who was born in Germany (parents were Army). I bet you can't wait to get back. Which is when? Hope you had a good holiday with the family!

Look! I got a few minutes to spend on the computer!!

We are doing better health wise. The girls are sleepy and cranky, but I hope by tomorrow they will be feeling much better. We are all partied out, but have one more party to attend tonight. I have 2 sibs with a birthday today. We'll see if the girls are feeling up to it.

So is anyone going to tell us what they got for Christmas? (Besides Elizabeth?)

I got a new camera!! Yay!

Loni, I got PJs from Jonny, 2 bathing suits from my parents for the trip, some stocking items (socks, lotions, chocolates) and money. Again my family didn't do gifts really since we spent most of the money on the "foster" family.

Hope everyone had a great Christmas! I'm back to work today

Merry late Christmas ladies!

I've been busy this past week - 2 weeks getting everything ready for Christmas and whatnot!

Christmas was good to me Hubbie got me 4 new heavy duty cookie sheets and scrappy goodies! My parents got me scrappy goodies too! My sister gave me a $50 giftcard to a scrapbooking store that is in Calgary but you can buy stuff online from them! And then I got a drafting table from my father-in-law and then a ton of smaller goodies! I got spoiled

And then I went boxing day shopping today and bought 3 packs of thicker sets! They each had 10 sets of thickers in a plastic wrap thing for $20! So I got 30 single packs of thickers for $60! SUPER excited. And then I got a Recollections black D ring album and the Jetmax Recollections carasol thing for the desk for $35! Super happy with what I found today! I also bought myself a new camera for $140. It is a Canon Powershot A400 IS HD, and it came with a case. I have been wanting a new simple point and shoot camera for a while, as mine was a Canon previously but only had 4x Optical Zoom and 7.1 Mega Pixels whereas this new one is 8x Optical Zoom and 16 Mega Pixels. BIG jump!

I'm off to play some video games and relax before heading back to work tomorrow. Atleast I only have to work 2 days! Can't believe the new year is almost here! Hope Christmas was good to all you wonderful ladies!

Sadly now I'm bitten by the nasty bug as well Have acute bronchitis, so my chest is hurting real bad Have been switching between (a) hanging over a bowl of hot water and ( drinking hot tea with honey all day Anything that soothes my pour chest

Dee, I'm glad you had fun with your family! I hope you feel better soon. Isn't it awful being sick when you're supposed to be on vacation!?

We are getting better slowly here. The girls have been extra sleepy and feeling still a little icky. I have been too, I got the Harry Potter video set for Christmas and I keep falling asleep. Two nights and I still haven't finished the first movie!

I'm doing my homework on PL so I can start next week! I'm bummed the kit I want won't be here by then, but I was going to coordinate the Seafoam kit with the MME Miss Caroline paper stack I have - so I'm not completely empty handed.

Camille, and anyone who is sick - Feel better!!

Rachel, I'm jealous about the purses. haha, I need a new bag!

Lisa, that sounds so awesome what a thickers score!

UPCOMING CHALLENGE HOMEWORK!!

Hey Girls, we have been talking about a new inpsired to scrap challenge based on what we've been pinning and bookmarking for 2013. So, what we need you to do first is think of 4-5 challenges of your own to add to our master list. Email or Pmail your ideas to Monica as soon as you can.

To give you an idea of what we have in mind here is mine:

Page Source
Challenge: Use your Silhouette to make a large background piece for a page.

Page Source

Challenge: Use Bright Colors and Bold Patterns on a page.

Page Source

Challenge: Use an impressive amount of photos on one LO.

Page Source

Challenge: Use the negative image or cut on a page title.

Easy Peasy? I don't think you need to share the image, this was just my way of showing you where I got my challenge ideas from. I hope it makes sense!

It's crazy! I've been home all week with the kids and they are running me ragged! LOL. I have my crop tomorrow I am so excited! Merry Belated Christmas to everyone! Can't believe that it is nearly 2013!! I am not ready! That means another year older, and my kids are older, ugh... starting to not feel so young anymore.

My week has been spent not scrapping like I envisioned, but maintaining laundry, taking kids to the doctor, getting a few groceries, making homemade dinners for once, keeping the house clean, reading before bedtime, and getting caught up on Game of Thrones, Boardwalk Empire, and finally watching Mildred Pierce. I have no ink in my printer and I am getting so behind in my scrapbooking I just don't know where to begin. Tomorrow is my crop, so I plan to get scrap happy, but I am just not sure where to begin. I really wish I had a Canon Selphy so I could print photos from my phone or I have ink in my printer at home so I could print a few pictures. There are so many pictures that I want to scrap but I don't have copies of them!! Yikes..

Joanne - you're in Germany I was born at Ramstein Air Base in Landstuhl, Germany. Lived there till I was 4ish with my folks.

For Christmas I got a Dutch Oven, new grill, new robe, and a lot of stocking stuffer type items We kept it small this year because the day after Thanksgiving we got a TV, Roku, and 2 bluray players. Also my parents surprised my husband and I with a new washer and dryer!! We were so spoiled this year by everyone! It pays to have several huge life events all in one year!! We were just happy to get the kids things they wanted and needed.

Gabrielle! Get yourself some ink girl! or hit the 1 hr printer!! Have fun at your crop! Last one I did I forgot all my pics. Lol!

Steph, I'm excited to see what everyone comes up with. I got the idea when I was seeing common trends in my pins. Do you see the bold colors trend in all mine?

Rach, I'll see if I can visit the chat sometime today!

Loni: I sure do see the bold color trend in the LOs you picked! I am loving it because I am so into bold, bright colors right now...they make me happy!

Don't forget to send me your challenges for 2013! I've only gotten them from one person so far, and the new thread will go up day after tomorrow!
