Tyrese is from the comic, he is Rick's kind of new best friend and right hand man. He is at the prison with Rick most of the time in the comic, not sure how they will handle their relationship. The people with him are also a bit different.

Anyone notice they only have one african american guy at a time? First, t dog was killed to make room for the AA prisoner, then he was killed to make room for the new guy with that new group. Hope they don't do this with the women, too, or Michone (sp?) might be in trouble. LOL

It looked like in the preview after the show that Daryl makes it out, but I didn't see Meryl. Hopefully Andrea will put it all together. The heads, Penny, Michonne, her group coming to Woodbury, Daryl. She has to right? February is to long to wait!
I thought the interaction between Carol and Axel was funny too. Poor Axel doesn't have any swag.
I heard the woman in the beginning call him Tyrese too. |

After the opening scene with Tyrese and the new people I turned to my DH and said "guess AA prisoner is going to die tonight".
Andrea is starting to make me miss Lori.
When Herschel told Carl not to go investigate the noise I turned to DH and pointed put the extreme irony of the fact that the one and ONLY time that child has been told to stay put throughout the whole show and it wasn't either one of his parents who told him!

If Daryl dies I will stop watching.
I cheered when Michonne killed Penny and then gouged out the Governor's eye. I have a feeling Rick & Co. will go after Daryl, he is too valuable. Merle will be left in the dust.
I was so relieved that Carl was talking about one of the women in the other group. I can't bare to think of Judith, Carol or Beth dying right now. | |

Ok, here is what I think is going to happen based on last night.
The Governor is going to make Merle and Darryl fight each other, which is the reason they are in the arena. Merle is either going to die or turn to the other side because the Governor just threw him to the wolves.
I believe the Governor is most pissed about Penny and will be going after Michonne. The music and singing to her shows he was hopeful that she would eventually return to normal. |

After watching the previews for Feb, I think that Rick sends Maggie and Glenn back to the prison, he and Michonne go back for Darryl and set off smoke bombs then make it back with Merle to the prison and in the preview's some one says "What is he doing here" I think it was Glenn saying it about Merle (or at least it sounded that way). I could be totally off but this is my thought on how it will play out. Then Andrea tells the Gov that she should go talk to them at the prison and he then says she was compromised, etc.... that was all what I got from the really fast preview for Feb. I cannot wait for it to get here! lol |

If they kill off Daryl, I know I won't be the faithful viewer I am now. Can't say I wouldn't eventually see the show, but it will be like most other T.V I watch, in re-runs. It doesn't look like it from the pre-views, & I suspect there would be a pretty harsh viewer backlash if Daryl was killed.
My DD's boyfriend has only just watched the 1st season but watched the last 2 episodes with me. He was all happy Glen makes it & becomes such a badass. Zombie Bones as killer weapon, gotta love it!
I didn't see the "evil" in the Governor until last night. I couldn't get past him as the character he played in Doctor Who, & I know he was considered for the role after David Tennant. He was a little too wussy for me, but awesome acting by him last night, cause I saw the evil finally.

Oh my goodness...was just watching the AMC.com previews (with spoilers) and realized that not only is our beloved sheriff a Brit, but so is Maggie and also the Governor!
I mentioned this ages ago, but I read somewhere that the US southern accent is the easiest accent to mimic by the Brits, because they are similar in many ways. |

FYI- they announced that starting in feb. the talking dead will be at 10:00 right after walking dead episode and it'll be extended to 1 hour. I'm so glad. 30 mins is not enough to get everything in.

I was very nervous for Daryl at the end and then I saw him running through the woods in a preview, so at least he gets out of that mess.

Love the show and just started reading the graphic novels. It is kind of confusing to start reading the books this late into the show because they are different. I heard on the Talking Dead that Daryl and Merle aren't in the novel. Daryl is becoming my favorite and it was painful to watch last night's show and know I have to wait until Febuary to see his fate.
Anyone else have trouble reconciling the novels and the show? |

Anyone else have trouble reconciling the novels and the show?
I started reading the comics after I got into Season 1 and have been hooked ever since. There were a few differences here and there that I liked or didn't like from comic to show.
This season, while really good, has produced the biggest issues for me, mainly:
1. In the comic, Michonne definitely has a reason to hate the Governor. I just don't get that from the show. He sent Merle to kill her, but it just doesn't explain that rage enough for me.
2. It's weird to see Tyrese coming in now. Rick and Tyrese are together from the camp on the road near Atlanta. They are great friends. I'm guessing they have different plans for Tyrese's life expectancy because the way things are lining up, he wouldn't be around long lol.
3. Their time at the prison just never seems comfortable. They are there a pretty good while in the comic and there IS some breaths of relaxation. It seems like there is no relief, even in the prison.
4. The Governor hasn't been evil enough, but they remedied that in the last episode and he might just be on track!
Maybe the rest of the season will satisfy some of my angst, lol. |

So is Tyrese the guy Rick kept trying to reach via radio (or whatever)? Either way, I liked him & the woman with the shovel at the beginning.
I loved the fight scene between Michonne & the Governor. I want to be her when I grow up!! I was rooting for her to use a glass shard somehow when she couldn't reach her BAMF sword... but screamed like crazy when I saw what she did with it. I was hoping it would go all the way through to his twisted little brain.
And yeah, when they brought Daryl out at the end, I yelled some more--NOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!! My son thought I was in trouble  |

No, Morgan is who Rick is trying to reach on the walking talkie.. He's the guy who Rick met in the very beginning. In the graphic novels, Tyrese is at the camp along with Dale, Andrea, Carol, etc. For some reason the show writers decided not to introduce him until now. I'm pretty sure he will last longer on the show than he did in the novels.
I'm thinking that Merle will turn against the Governor, since he threw him under the bus. Andrea will help the Dixon brothers escape and she'll be captured by the Governor.
I don't like that Oscar died, he seemed to be very loyal to Rick even in that short amount of time, but I guess they had to lose someone in that rescue and I'm glad it wasn't Glenn or Daryl. |

Thanks for the explaination. I had forgotten it was Merle's bike. I agree that the governor came across a lot differently in the books, but it made more sense the way he is portrayed in the series. I can't imagine a whole town full of people following the one in the books. He just didn't seem to have the charm this guy does. | |

Me too! He seemed like he was so ready to become a part of the group and was so willing to risk his life for the common good. I hate they killed him off.
