But that is the BEST part of Christmas shopping. You can buy for yourself guilt free.

I laugh at that Target commercial: One for you, and one for me.

I understand the thought. It's the reason I won't allow myself to go into Pier One this time of year.

I just don't see why people think I'm too patronizing (that means I treat them as if they were stupid.)

Yup, especially for online shopping. When items NEEDED are on sale and just a little more is needed so shipping is free too. . .

lol I agree with you!!!

I finished my shopping last week. Since then, I have bought 2 more gifts for DH, one more for DD and one more for DH. I also bought a couple more stocking stuffers for DD and her BF. I swear that, even though I'm finished my shopping, I'll be buying more stuff until the stores close on Christmas Eve!!

LOL Too late!
Today was my DD's 18th bday, and I stopped by CC to pick up a couple of the scarves they had on sale. I walked out with several things for her and a purse for me. In my defense, I have been actively shopping for a new purse for the past couple of months.

When DD and DH saw the purse, they both said it was boring and not up to my usual style. LOL. I didn't realize I had a style.

So, I'll take it back and find another. Of course, while I'm there....

That is exactly why I think you should splurge. This is my favorite time of year to shop. Unless I need something specific, I don't shop.

Being in the stores so much, I do tend to splurge on myself.

If you can afford it, go for it. As long as money isn't short, it is okay to go by idea that life is short...go for it.

My middle dd and I love Charming Charlies! We could spend hours in there, and lots of $$$ too. I have to say though the last time we were in there I was a little disappointed. It looked like they cut back on their selection of colors. I've never been into TJMaxx. I guess I shouldn't go in.

I'm not allowed to finish early. If there is still stuff on my list, I stick to the list. If I am done, I find more to buy.

I'm running about 10 to 1 on my shopping this year. 10 for me for every one present for someone who is not me. I've got to get a grip on that.

Oh, heavens, I do the same thing. Went Christmas shopping this weekend, bought 6 gifts for others and 3 gifts for myself. Ugh.

Does it help that one purchase (a delicious pair of plum purple flats) I handed over to DH to wrap and put under the tree?)

I'm having the same issue shopping. I started with a few things from White House Black Market, then MAC, then a fun little lost key locator whistle thingy, and chocolates, fun holiday t-shirts, warm socks, etc etc etc.

Must resist the Coach store tomorrow. New goal! lol

But I totally did not realize I needed a separate savings account labelled "For crap you buy for yourself when you are out buying gifts FOR OTHER PEOPLE."

I noticed this same thing when I got packages delivered from my BF shopping that were for me and dh missed teasing me since they were all mixed in my Christmas BF shopping

I totally know what you mean! I went to the mall on Black Friday and ONLY bought for myself. There were such good deals that I could not pass up.

Not one single present for anyone on my list!

Sigh. Lessons are obviously needed here. The proper form is this: One for you, one for me. Two for you, one, two for me. Three for you, One, two, three for me.
