Come on now-a little fluff to lighten up the mood around here.

We've obssessed over every aspect of gift-giving for others and it's only December 2! So, now, what have you bought to treat/pamper/spoil yourself for Christmas?

Moi? I bought myself a gorgeous cranberry red sweater, some tops, a pair of jeans, and a bunch of Grinch Stuff. (and I still have time) I want (re: need) some new shoes, I've been eyeballing a pair of Doc Marten's boots and I"ve been thinking of buying some cool pens (like I need another hole in my head)from this website out of the UK.

How about you?

I bought a couple of fleece tops and long sleeve shirts so I can add and take off layers as the hot flashes come and go.

I had to buy a new pair of jeans because I had a wardrobe malfunction at work oneday. New socks. dryer has eaten half my socks.

a motion activated LED battery operated light for my pantry so I can have better light in there until dh gets into the attic to run wiring for a light in the pantry. Some skinny shelves for the pantry.

I think that is it. The shelving and the light were total impulse buys online shopping.

My birthday is on Christmas!

I bought myself the FitDesk stationary bike and the Instax Mini -- both on Amazon Lightning Deal.

I told DH he doesn't have to worry about getting me anything this year

3- Nine & Co handbags, per my dh's request. (colors: bubblegum/pink, carrot cake/orange, Iris/dark purple) Gifts to me from each of my dd's.

Stainless steel measuring spoons and cups.

Bath & Body Works lotion

5- 5pc sets of Fiestaware

I've been thinking about buying an artificial white tree just for my snowman ornaments. I would set it up in the family room or our master bedroom. We'll see.

Wow, I'm a lot more silly in my purchases for me.

The Lego Holiday Bakery. I've decided that that will be something I start collecting for Christmas. It's fun AND it's decorative.

I'll also probably buy myself some s'mores ornaments, as I do yearly.

Harvey's seatbelt bags for myself, peplum tops and dresses from Macy's, converse XHi's, Ralph Lauren Jodhpurs.

OK. Newbie. This is how it works. If your post consists of 80% sanity, 10% stupidity and 10% all kinds of crazy, we immediately focus on the 20% b/c it discredits the 80%.

Shhhhh....don't tell anyone, but I bought myself a pair of cute Coach flats. I REALLY needed them. I was ushering at the Opera House during DD's recent play and they recommended that we wear flats since there is a lot of running up and down stairs. And I didn't have a nice pair of black flats. And I've been eye-balling these forever. Santa would understand.

Let's see....I went Christmas shopping for ME on Friday and Saturday.
Friday, I bought myself a new pair of glasses and contact lenses because I hadn't had any in almost 3 yrs. I got a new pair of Dansko clogs that were on sale for a great price!
Then I went to Sephora and got both Urban Decay Naked Palettes AND the Tarte Carried Away holiday set, a new BE original loose mineral foundation.
Saturday, we took our son on a Train Ride(not Polar Express). Then we stopped at a mall where I went to the BE Boutique and got the Vision in Velvet, The Royal Treatment and the Ready Light Show Palette!

Oh and I also got a Nook HD+

I bought myself a Cameo and a Workbox!

It was not for Christmas, it was my annual 'end of the year' gift to myself. I always buy myself something nice to celebrate a year of hard work.

I have a very difficult time buying things for myself (crafty items aside), but I'm working on it! Last week, my family was dealt some difficult news regarding a family member's health. Not to mention, at 27 and newly diagnosed with POT Syndrome, I have my own health hurdles. So, after some soul searching (and my cardiologist's encouragement), I decided to buy myself a bike for Christmas. I plan to venture around my neighborhood in hopes of shedding some pounds. My next personal gift will probably be a pedicure or a new outfit.

New SUV tires
New SUV brakes
Alignment for said SUV
Oil changes and inspections for 2 cars

I have SO many people to buy for that there is nothing left to treat myself. I'm totally jealous of all your goodies.

There are several things I would like. To buy myself or to receive.
I won't.
But I can't afford a cameo, a car, a new mattress or the watch I want.
I'd rather spend the money I have for Christmas gifts on my kids and family

ASR70 - I LOVE those boots!!

I bought myself a new Kenneth Cole cross-body bag and a Smashbook kit with some accessories.

Earlier in the month I bought a KitchenAid Artisan stand mixer in Pistachio Green That plus the new skis and bindings I bought on Black Friday (Canadian retailers really stepped up this year!), - everything is going under the tree wrapped to me, from DH even though they were all bought by me ha ha

Nothing. I find "me-gifting" to be incredibly tacky and really outside the spirit of the season, no matter if you celebrate it for secular or religious reasons.

That's not to say I don't buy myself anything during December. But I don't buy stuff I wouldn't buy other times of the year and I certainly don't justify it with "Christmas." I think that's what really gets me, the justification.

I hate to think of kids watching "me-gifting" and learning those lessons that any time you give someone else gifts, you should get gifts too.

THE vase. Seriously, I demanded that dh buy the thing. We were not leaving the mall without it.

Now, there is a back story. There is a local potter who sets up a shop in the mall during the Christmas season. Two seasons ago, he had a few of these large vases on display. I was completely drawn to one of them.

Well, I passed it up because it was pricey. I thought about that darned vase & decided to go back for it after Christmas, because I was going to use the money gifted to me on it. Lo & behold, he was gone.

Now, I absolutely love this guy's pottery. This was the second year I had bought from him. So, I decided if that vase was still available the next season (last Christmas), I was buying it. I swear I thought about that vase all year long.

He never showed up! I was so disappointed.

So, last week, dh & I stop by the mall and there is the potter & his display. OMG! I went looking for that vase & he still had it.

I don't know if dh intended on going back for it as a surprise or not. But, I was not going to walk away from the vase for a 3rd time. No, sir!

I'm actually thinking about what I'm *going* to buy with my Christmas money. FIL and MIL both give cash and/or gift cards. My dad does the same. Last year our tv broke (On Christmas Eve!) so we used the money for that. This year I'm thinking about a new running wind breaker and some luscious Origins beauty products.

You guys have great taste - I should have the Peas make up my Christmas wish list next year

I didn't buy it for myself for Christmas but because it was the best price I'd seen - LowePro Passport Sling Bag (got that idea from Peas too) and a cross body camera strap that has a notch in it for, as the salesman put it, "your boob to fit and not get squished"...lol Didn't NEED it now, but also didn't need to ever have that conversation at any point in the future...lol

I guess the one thing I did buy because I could 'get away' with it with all the other buying was the National Geographic Genographic 2.0 DNA test kit... I did the basic test years ago but I'm a big (boobed) nerd and want the additional info in this newer test... Plus my nerd crush on Dr. Spencer Wells... I'd buy a $200 pineapple if it came with a video of him talking about it

Socks. Oh, and I have to admit I ate some of the chocolate that was supposed to go in stockings. Otherwise I've been a good girl this year. But I have spent much more on family (parents and siblings) than usual this year.
