Anyone purchased a 16 gb and wished they had purchased a 32 gb instead. Buying one for a 17 year old and don't want to spend the extra if i don't have too.

My DH got a 16 at first and returned it for the 32. You'd be surprised at how much space gets used up quickly. | |

Definitely go for the most you can afford. I started with 16, went up to 32, and wish now I had 64. My teen DD has a 64GB iPad 2, and it's about 3/4 full right now.

I bought a 64 and have plenty of room left on mine. My DH bought the 16 and hates it-it is always full, can't update properly and has to be reformatted to add/delete and is a royal PITA. If can afford the 32 that would be my choice. I am assuming a 17 year old will want music, movies, and apps the 16 is tough to live with. I wouldn't waste money on the 16- it's better to have one that functions well for the little difference in cost. I'd rather get a mini with 32 than the full size at 16 KWIM? | |

Thanks everyone for the replies. I think I will go with the 32.
It's for my daughter and I think she would be tickled to death even if I chose to buy her the original ipad.

I'm glad you are getting her the 32.
I filled my 32 with Kahn Academy's Chemistry & Algebra II series for DD last year. It doesn't take much to fill up. | |
