Good morning, PEAps! I COULD NOT log in this morning to the MB's. Guess Santa's elves were dusting off the shelves.
Today it's beautiful here in Big D! Doesn't seem like winter at all.
Not sure what my photo will be. Maybe my freshly cleaned house - a shot of the living room with all it's stuff up?? I am thinking I have never actually shot the whole room. I've done close-ups of some of my fave stuff....
So, think outside the box today! Try to grab a shot that is new and undocumented!
I love comparing these pictures year over year - and have even used them to figure out just WHERE that some little Christmas deco something goes, when my memory fails me!
What's your shot today? Old or new or tried and true?

I have to go to work soon so I may just take a pic of the forecast...it's going to be 70 today. For Illinois that's awesome on Dec. 3rd!

I already have an update to my photo of the day! Just got my *first* Cyber Monday package delivered to me here at work. So, I'm guessing I may use that as a Photo of the Day - in some way so as not to give away the gifts inside!
Plus, that will be a fun way to pull Cyber Monday into the story telling.

Today my topic is the weather. I screen captured the 7 day forecast. It's going to be 70 in Cincinnati! Wow! That rarely happens so I had to make it apart of my DD.

My photo of the day is the awesome amount of Angel Tree gifts that were purchased by most of the employees I work with. Every year my employer requests tags for the angel gifts from our local public assistance office, employees and their families can choose as many names as they like if they wish to participate. We're a pretty small organization, so the response was heartwarming. My dh had a blast shopping for his "angel" gifts because he got to shop for (and play with)action figures, skateboards and army figures...

The Lights of December: DD just started driving on her own to school. It is rainy and chilly here today. She texted me that the car was beeping at her even though she had taken the keys out!
She left the lights on & couldn't leave class to turn them off. I drove there & turned them off & took a picture of course!
Tomorrow's picture will be right across from it & of our new outside lights- LED & we dont really like them.
Although Ms did have a sample of LED light that looked/glowed exactly like traditional lights...another trip to a craft store is in my future!

I'm hoping to take a picture of our finish tree and a few close ups of the kids favorite ornaments (thinking outside the box) my room still has along way to go. That can be an other picture. I also have to start my dd. All I have are photos in my camera. This week is going to my craziest time for the holidays. I will have plenty photos to prove it.
Thanks Penny | |

We are doing Elf on a Shelf for the first time this year and he was supposed to arrive yesterday. Then I read the book, and there are cute ideas I thought were included which aren't. I don't like the book! So I swapped advent activities real quick and he is arriving today instead, along with a letter from the big SC. I took some pics of the letter and box he traveled in and hope to get one of DS with him.

I was at the post office and some handwriting on a lost dog flyer took my breath away ... it looked just like my Dad's handwriting (which was quite unusual).
So I took a photo of that and the journaling will be that even after him being gone for 19 years, I still "see him" places and think of him every day.

I have been freezing cold INSIDE my home today! It's just 14 degrees outside (-10 degrees Celsius) and so it's chilly inside as well.
They "adjusted" the central heating in our house last year (to save money on heating, I guess) and the ventilation doesn't work properly. I found some ice below one of our windows, on the inside! Didn't think to take a photo of that because I was too upset. But I regret that now, that would have been an awesome picture. lol! Hubby had to fix it with some insulation.
It didn't help much because we have huge windows with a lot of ice cold glass in them, lowering the temperature inside. So DH and I (he's working from home right now) had to put on layer upon layer of warm clothes.
Still, it's nice with the snow outside.
Today's pic: A warming one.
Title: Baby, it's cold inside!

I just took a photo of my daughter and the cat in front of the Christmas tree. And my daughter just said, "Why does Marmalade DO this so often?" as she was hanging a bulb back up that the cat knocked down. LOL!
Tomorrow, I think I will take a photo of my gradebook and some assessments (of course with the names not showing), since I will be doing report cards most nights for a week and a half. It is a regular part of my Decembers!

Thanks Susan That's one thing I love about this project is that it doesn't have to be a "Christmas" memory per se, just whatever is going on in your life ... like Project Life.

12-3-12: My photo was of 3 bottle brush trees I made from an idea on Pinterest. Interesting little things - I drilled holes in old wooden thread spools for the bases. Hot glued some little ornaments on them. I embellished the page with colorful bits of the cardboard packaging from the bottle brushes and some twine.
Thanks for the thread! | |

Day 1-My DH and I rode to coast because weather was in low 70's.
Took pic of him with 2 glasses of wine on the beach(he was
holding mine too).
Day 2-Undecorated tree
Day 3-Tree decorated
Erika, that is so sweet about your dad-neat way to incorporate his memory into album.

The idea of the forecast would be a great idea!! I'll have to remember that one tomorrow
For today's picture, I took a great shot of DS and our Pokeman card game after supper. One of our rare "non Christmas-y" shots I'm sure as this is one of our last easy weeks with not much going on ... I'm going to enjoy the calm while it lasts

3 - Went back to the gym. Didn't get any pictures but will tell a story about it. Just need to remember to snap a couple of pictures on another day.
Thanks for starting these threads. It was a big help last year, because if I ever forgot to take good notes, or if I couldn't remember what happened which day, my notes on these threads reminded me of what I wanted to do.

This is my first year doing a Dec Daily so I wanted to keep it super simple. I'm not doing an album, just a 12x12 page layout. Last month I created a digital calendar page with photo spots for each day of the month. All I have to do is add a photo each day. I'm just doing one brief line for journaling.
12/1 - Photo of decorations at a Christmas dinner dh and I attended
12/2 - Photo of our decorations spread out all over and ready to be put out
12/3 - Photo of dd's lost tooth
For the 3rd I was going to use a screen shot of our high for the day - 80 degrees. Looks like it was warmer than normal in lots of places. But when my dd got home from school, she showed me her tooth she lost at lunchtime. So that's my photo of the day.

This is my first year doing DD. I don't have a digital camera, so for now I just have journaling down, and the photos will get printed as the film gets full. My day just started here, so I haven't quite figured out what I am going to take a pic of.
Maybe, I will talk about the project that I am working on for my DS's class. I am doing LO's of their class activities, and then will be with the teacher in class assisting them with their journaling. By the end of the year they will have a scrapbook of all their activities.
Or, maybe I will document my trip preparations to attend the 12-12-12 event being done by Big Picture Classes.
Well, I have a few ideas. Thanks for the ideas on the thread. I appreciate them.
