She called me at 10:30 last night bawling. Apparently she left her friend's apartment Saturday night by a side door that locks after you and the gate was for some reason locked so she was trapped Her phone was dead so she couldn't call so she hopped the fence and fell 7 ft. Thought is was a sprain and hobbled home. She went in yesterday to get it looked at, I'm asuming because it swelled?? She is freaking out because she has no idea if the cast is on right and she tends to be a klutz so she figures she'll make it worse (they told her this was possible) She can't work for 2 months and her CC is maxed. It is only $500, but still.
Sigh. I have been nagging her to get it paid off and leave it alone unless necessary because of things just like this happening . I hope this is a wake up for her.
I also hope it heals properly.
I want to go visit but my mm sounded kind of frazzled at my coming and told me it was not needed. I know it isn't but I feel so bad. I'm 4 hours away from my 'baby' and I hate that she is sad.
There is very little worse than answering the phone to your DD's sobs at 10:30 at night, not knowing what the hell is going to come out of her mouth.
Just rambling my stress out, but could you send good thoughts her way?

Is she in an Aircast or some other type of removable cast? Have her go back where she got it and have them show her how to use if properly. When I got mine (and I've had a couple), they fitted it and had me put it on and take it off to be sure I knew what I was doing.

Is she in college? That sounds painful so I guess I am like you because I would take a drive up this weekend and check on her.

She is 20 but she isn't in college right now. She is / was working at a catering company. I guess she'll get EI while she is off, but it will take a bit I think to kick in. She has to do all the paperwork and stuff still first.
I'd love to go down, but if I went down I'd have to take greyhound and unless my mom is okay with having me stay there we just can't afford a bus ticket plus a hotel room in the city centre area and all the transportation / food costs that would incur right now. If it were more serious I would but I do know she is okay.

Awww poor baby. Hard on her and you but I bet after a good night's sleep and some cast experience she'll be feeling more capable.
Maybe send some cookies, Advil and lots of love?
