Hi everyone. I hope you don't mind me sneaking in on this thread.
My name is Christina and I have been scrapping/cardmaking since 2003. I have 3 kids, a 9 year old girl, 7 year old boy and a 3 year old girl. I work full time outside the home as a pharmacy technician at a store in Andover. I also work part time as an independant consultant for a scrapbook company. I live in Coon Rapids and have been married 8 years.
I would love to meet some MN peas to scrap with. I have been to Pine City. I usually go about 3 times a year to their retreat center. I LOVE it there.
My ususal crop spot is Scrapbooks Too in Bloomington.

I live about an hour west of the cities and if any of the dates work out I may try to show up. I've been to CD in St. Cloud several times to shop and it is sensory overload!

Angel - carpool sounds great for trip to CD,

Closest for me is apple valley and MOA archivers and then probably Woodbury, Roseville, and Eden prairie all about the same. Yeah sad that scrapbooks too closed they had great crops.

I am up for another archivers in jan or feb Barbie, I might even be able to do 2 weekends in jan, its a cold slow month for me with not as many commitments as summer..so you pick the date.

Have a Nice Day!

Hi! Can I sneak on too? My name is Kirsten and I live in Sartell - 20 minutes from Crafts DIrect! I'm a SAHM with 3 boys - 20,17 & 12 and a confirmed CD addict. (I'm trying to make it a week without going there!)

I'll keep an eye on this thread to see if you want to meet in St. Cloud - I can help with the sensory overload part because I know where they keep the good stuff!

TwinkieJo - Thanks for the info regarding Scrappin N Chattin. I checked out the site. It's a cute little place. If others are interested, we could consider it for another scrap in the future.

Lynner - I am glad that you found us. I understand about the hating/loving your job. The ='s of mine still outweigh the -'s but, sometimes - Oh. my!

Christina - Welcome! Just curious - When you live so close to an Archivers, why do you prefer to scrap at Scrapbooks Too? Is it the staff that draw you in or the product? Now, that they will be opening again, we may want to add them to our list of places to meet. BTW - What Scrapbook Co. do you work for?

Just Peaing - I hope the scrap dates work out for you. We would love to have you join us!

Sylvia - Thanks for coming back with an intro! I wish that I was still teaching Preschool. I really miss it!!

Reneee - Thanks for the update on Scrapbooks Too. As I mentioned earlier in the post, maybe, we may add them to our list of places to scrap.

Kirspend - Happy to have you here! With all the time that we both seem to spend at CD, we must have crossed there at some point. I hope that you can join us for the CD scrap.

Here's a thought for the future:
http://www.watersedgeretreats.com/

Rhiansmom and I will be attending our 6th Retreat there early next spring. The accommodations are great and so is the price.

Can someone please tell me how to get my links to work .

I thought I would pop in and try to introduce myself. This will be my 3rd attempt, my laptop keeps freaking out and I lose my post. So here goes. I live in Brooklyn Park, I've been married 24 years, we have 3 grown children and one grandbaby. My two dd and I have been scrapping since 2004. I must confess I have never been to cd or pine city. I would love to meet p for a crop if the dates work. Glad to know there are so many MN Peas.

Patricia -

I am glad that you were persistent. I hope that you can join us for the crops!

Is it your computer that is giving you trouble or just the Peas site? I have had problems with the site before. It used to do really crazy things with my work computer Thankfully that doesn't occur anymore. Although, I have had a few minor issues this past week.

I'm doing a Happy Dance over here! I woke up to the maintenance crew plowing the parking lot this morning. I jumped right out of bed and grabbed my camera (both my iPhone and my Nikon) and started taking photos. Even went out onto the balcony in my pjs. Now I am waiting for breakfast and for Brent to get showered and dressed so we can go outside and play!

Funny, I thought about Barbie right away when I was shoveling. Now that I had to shovel again because I couldn't get into my driveway when I got home from Target I'm hoping she is really enjoying this snow cause I have had enough. Lol

Barbie - I'm happy to hear that you are enjoying the snow and it's photo ops!

Due to weather conditions, I wasn't able to go to check Crafts Direvt for a hard copy of their Jan. schedule. I will continue to check their site and if I get a chance I will call them to see if they know when they will have availability.

So, it's ONE degree now. And the boiler in our building is on the fritz! It's blowing tepid air at best. Are you freaking kidding me?

Let me know!

Kirsten - Thanks for the offer! I usually get to St. Cloud when I take DGS home after a visit. Due to the weather, DH took him home on Sun. so; I didn't get to stop by CD. It would be wonderful if you could check for the Jan. Calendar while you are there. Then we would know when they would have availability for us to scrap. CD has their class schedules on the wall as you head out the door by the check outs. TIA!

Sorry it took so long for me to get back to this thread. Replying on my phone is a pain.

I prefer to scrap at SB2, because their crops are longer, and less expensive, and the people there are wonderful. The new owners are some of my best friends.

Sarah, wishing you a speedy recovery. I've had 7 hand surgeries, for mine at least I found my ability to scrap came back quickly but my ability to type at work, not so quick. That may have been by personal desire, though!

I am so delighted to see many chiming in on this thread, looking forward to meeting more of you in real life!

And I'm delighted to hear SB2 is coming back also! Saw that on FB a few days ago.

I was just coming to check to see if there was a date for January. I just got an e-mail from a friend about her sb retreat and the date for January. I had to miss the first MN pea gathering and don't want to miss the next one.

Hope everyone is getting everything done for the holidays that they need to get done and still have some time for fun. DH and I went to MOA yesterday and it wasn't as busy as we expected. I am still hoping to get to the Swedish American Institute to look at their Christmas rooms and over to Como to see the poinsettias in the Conservatory. What are your plans?

December has been a very busy month for me. I am looking forward to January and getting together to scrap without having the pressure making cards or gifts. I wish that CD would post their January calendar so; we can get a date set.

Has anyone been working on anything scrappy?

Barbie - Are you still enjoying the great frozen north?

Renee - Plans for Christmas are quiet here. It will just be DH and myself for Christmas Eve. DS, "DIL" & DGS will be here on Christmas Day and then I think that DGS will be staying with us until New Years Day.

What are the holiday plans for everyone else?

I'm still loving it! Though I have been a little bummed that a lot of last week's snow has melted and no more has fallen yet. I really, really want to have beautiful snow next week while Brent's kids are in town. They've never seen that much snow, and they want to go snowboarding and skating and all that.

It looks like we will get a litle more snow. I made to archivers today too some enamel dots, washi tape, thickers, and a few things to make my dd a calendar. Boy did it add up fast even with the discount.

Hi!

What are your plans?

Our plans for the holiday are nothing to huge. My hubby and I both work Christmas eve day then after that we are getting together with my sister and her fiance for dinner at a local chinese resturant. Christmas day we are going to my in-laws house after I get off work. (retail.. gotta love it!)
I am super super excited for my kids to open their gifts this year. I think my kids with me so super happy! I can't wait! DD9 is getting a Nook, DS7 is getting the LEGO millenium falcon and my DD3 is getting a leappad (her very own DS!)

I am hoping we can make a field trip soon to CD. I have never been, but I have heard a TON about it!
SB2 should be opening in January. I know they are painting and redoing things inside. They are also busy ordering new product. If anyone has any ideas on what they would like them to carry, let them know on Facebook.

Yay for more snow!!!

Calhoun isn't even close to being frozen, so we will be skating at Rice Park in St. Paul. Someone mentioned another place for snowboarding other than Buck Hill, but I can't remember the name of it now...It was within an hour's drive.

Anyway, keeping my fingers crossed for that snow!
