So my cousins daughter mentioned it a few times on FB and I finally saw it. I lasted 5 minutes and had to change the channel. During the Thanksgiving holiday, my son in law watched it so we were a captive audience. OMG - we were hooked! We ended up staying up all night to watch the Duck Dynasty marathon!
I know exactly where they live (as far as the town goes) as it wasn't "that" far from where we lived in La. The father is in fact not only a college graduate, but has his Masters in Education and taught for several years. He was drafted in to the NFL but it interfered with his hunting so it goes so he started a business. All of the boys are college graduates and one of them is a Preacher.
As hysterical as it is, I love the fact that it starts and ends with family and it always ends with them around the dinner table.
I'm not sure if my IQ went down or up after watching this! LOL |

I love Duck Dynasty...I had heard about the boys but didn't know the father had been a teacher. It doesn't suprise me...they all *sound* very educated.
Jase is my favorite. But Uncle Si makes me laugh the hardest. |

OMG it's my guilty pleasure! You can tell a few of them are as sharp as tacks and and the humour just makes me ROTFLMAO but then I realize that no matter how educated men are, they are still boys!
I die laughing at the shit they pull. The first episode I saw, one wife was flipping out on her Duck CEO because he was burning leaves on the front lawn (think bonfire) and she said the HOA was gonna be down on them in 2 seconds just like the time he skinned the deer on the front lawn. LMAO! |

I agree Kiki! I live Jase. Just the way he talks and his facial expressions crack me up!
My friend and I decided to give this one a try after we kept seeing commercials during Storage Wars. Now it is one of our shows. I DVR all of them and we watch it together!
I do love Si too. Him and that tea glass!!! |

MY DH says that Si reminds him of my cousin that still lives in Louisiana. I think Jase does.
One of the sons is a Preacher at the Church of Christ and Phil is an Elder in the Church. I love it. Love Ms. Kay. Very southern....the old saying "if mama ain't happy then nobody's happy" certainly fits her.
Every time I think "this is my favorite episode" - I see another one I like just as well. |

What I find funny and endearing is how Phil sees the youth of the times. We were watching a dvr'd episode where Willie's son, John Luke I think, came over to take a girlfriend out on the boat.
Phil knew what was up. So he went on the boat WITH them. LOL
Phil said he remembers what he was after when he took a girl fishing and it wasn't fishing. ...then something about a lifetime of crabs to which my 10 yo dd said she'd LOVE to have!!!

Their page is called Bringing Home the Browns. At 34 weeks pregnant while her husband was in Afghanistan, Heather slipped into a coma and the baby was taken by c-section.
That's what's in the info page. So far the baby has gotten to go home and they have gotten Heather to respond by squeezing her husbands hand.

I had not heard about the Brown family. After reading it, it doesn't surprise me at all that they went there.
Si is a Vietnam Veteran and retired from the Army in the 90's. He is happily married and according to a post I read of Jase "thinks all women love him - he is delusional but we still love him." LOL
I loved the episode that one of the grandsons was going to take his girlfriend fishing. Phil remembers what that mean't so he went with them!

The 4th son Alan, is a Church of Christ preacher. I heard that he may be on next season. Not sure of the others but Willie majored in business.

I loved that one Sarah. Also liked the one that Miss Kay wanted an old trailer out of her yard and Phil decided it would make an excellent duck blind. LOL I remember thinking, now how are they going to get that rv up in that tree. About that time Phil said something to the effect of this is when it comes in handy to be rich and he had just rented or bought a big old tractor to raise it up there. LOL |
