Hello Christmas PEAps! The month is marching right along - whether or NOT we are getting our to do lists done!
Got a neat mail catalog yesterday from Shutterfly - has me rethinking my Christmas card angle. So overwhelmed by ALL that is NOT getting done. Gah! I think if today had a song it would be "I'm getting nuthin' for Christmas" - and I feel that way because I am so behind on my shopping. And baking. And making merry!
So, perhaps today's photo will be the very bare under the Christmas tree tree skirt!
How are YOU doing?? Someone please tell me they have this year under wraps, so I can live vicariously through YOU!
Make it a memorable day! And then snap that picture!

Sorry, I can't be the gold standard on this one. I've done no shopping, baking, and just the tree and a few touches of decorating. I'm usually against gift cards and have my shopping done in October. But it's a weird year for us, so I'm taking it easy on myself and my schedule and plan a trip down the giftcard aisle at the grocery store. Done and done.
Today's topic: I broke out one of my Christmas purses. I'll take pics to go with the journaling I want to write about where they came from, why I keep using them, how we had to build a whole cabinet in my closet to house all my purses , etc.

Well...we have our 2 trees up with lights, but no ornaments yet. Indoor decor started...but not finished. Outdoor decor postponed as we're supposed to have our house painted this week (it keeps getting pushed back - grr!). No gifts wrapped here yet. Christmas cards ordered, but not here yet.
BUT...All the gifts for DH's side of the family (his parents, and the 6 neices/nephews) are purchased, wrapped, and have been residing at MIL's house since Thanksgiving. (We traveled down to Dallas for Tgiving, but won't be able to return for Christmas, and I really wanted to avoid mailing all the kiddos toys this year.)
The only downside is that since I have that part done, I'm feeling like I can slack off on the rest!

I bought snowman donuts this morning. That's probably my photo today. Yummy and full of calories, I'm sure!
As far as Christmas shopping goes...I'm in the home stretch. Thank goodness!

Thx for getting me to think about it first thing in the morning! We have special dated ornaments for the tree & I purchased the 2012 yesterday, but I am not a date purist!
Todays photos will be the ornament, it's special packaging and a Macy's gift card that I picked up at the register that was very vintage looking.
I AM SO EXCITED: My target does mini-prints, so I can put two photos on a 4x 6 & get two 3 x 4s in an hour! Woohoo! I tried online, but couldn't do it that way, but I could using the Kodak picture maker in store. Not instant prints ... One hour. EZ- pea-Z! Check your target.

I stopped the stress train. I love sending Christmas cards and I always did really creative ones with our dogs doing funny things. If you knew me, you'd know I'm absolutely dog crazy, so the thought of not doing cards with them was unheard of. A few years I didn't send any. Recently I just started sending them to a few people.
Baking is the same way. I asked my guys what do you absolutely have to have in order for it to be Christmas and then that's what I baked. It's amazing how many things you do because 'its christmas' but others don't value them the way you think they do.
Stress is killing this country, either through our mental health or physical health. Then there's the self imposed stressors.....aye yi yi
We scaled back gifts (number of people) as well.
This is the first year I am actually looking forward to the holidays in a long, long time. And I think this is why. I'm certainly not lying in bed worrying about what I'm buying folks, that's for sure.
I'm using my DD to record 25 Things of Christmas and those things are the ones that cause me to smile when I think about them or evoke memories of past Christmas.
So....cut the stress ladies and ENJOY!!

All my decor has been up since the day before Thanksgiving. Had an extra day of vacation, so just got it done! My shopping is more than half done. But nothing has been wrapped and put under the tree yet, maybe this weekend. No Christmas cards this year. I only have a few people who really appreciate them, I may make a few this weekend to send out to them. And my December Daily is on schedule so far! Yay! I'm happy with the way things are going this Holiday season.

Well, after spending three hours getting my ds's broken hand casted yesterday, making appointments for tomorrow for my dd's non-healing ankle, and my ds e-mailing me that he feels terrible with a sore throat and stuffed up nose, I have no idea what I'm going to do.
I was hoping to decorate the tree and photo that but now I'm not sure. I guess I'll play it by ear.

I think I am going to move my Monday and Tuesday pictures to Tuesday and today. I want to insert a picture of William and Kate for announcing their pregnancy (because it is history and I am such a Royal nut).
I so agree about the stress thing. My DH and I both come from big families so we draw names on both sides-once we started doing that a few years ago, the stress of shopping went way down. Everyone still buys for little kids but there are only 4. We also rotate holidays at each families homes in DH family. Everyone always wants Christmas breakfast and dinner so I volunteer for Thanksgiving. This, to me, makes our family have a relaxing Christmas without me trying to get the house ready for company. I do send out Christmas cards because I enjoy doing that (I haven't done those yet) and I really don't bake to give away so I pretty much make a batch of cookies (old recipe) that I make for my family.
I was actually thinking I should have done DD a few years ago when my kids were still in high school. It seemed like we had something going on almost every day. They'll both be home from college next week so maybe things will liven up a bit.

I printed my pictures yesterday for my DD from Thanksgiving until now, and can't wait to put them in my book! Also picked up some cute flair buttons at JCP today, and can't wait to incorporate them too. Glad I have a few base pages done so I can get going quickly.

I don't know what my page will feature yet today. But here you go, Penny....live vicariously:
1. Shopping complete and wrapped under the tree
2. Homemade home decor done and up in the house
3. Tree purchased and decorated
4. Holiday cards printed - finalizing updated addresses for them to go out by next Monday
5. Baking scheduled for 12/15 with family...so that is coming
I wanted to just have my book to work on, outside of actually enjoying this crazy time of year.

In my DD album I've got everything planned out on a calendar grid of stories or things that happen on that day or I have a prompt for each day. I'm using the WRMK 8x8 album from Target. I'm behind, but I'm making notes of all the days- so I'll catch up on the weekends.
Anyway, today's topic for me- is my eldest girl- Velma turned 2! Yes- she's my rat. Her sister passed late October- so I'm celebrating Velma's bday. She's the oldest of my rats.

Not much is getting done here either. I'm having a hard time getting into the Christmas spirit this year, which is very unlike me.
My pic today is of my gingerbread latte from Starbucks.

I cheated! I scrapped photos of my Christmas tree today and journaled about my ornaments. I did take photos of my Christmas lights in the kitchen at 6:30 a.m. though.

2 steps forward one step back seems to be my holiday jig this year. 2 presents purchased none wrapped.trees up and most decorations out. No cards but I have lots of lists going! That should count for something right?
I looked at my pages from last year and they made me smile....so in the end I know it will all be good.

I'm a day late again, this is my only time to check 2 peas everyone is sleeping. My puppy wakes up around 5, I put her back to sleep n I can't fall back to sleep. So I'm on 2p's. My photo is a FedEx notice that I missed my package by a few minutes, I tried to stay n wait but I had to pick up dd at school. I was disappointed .
As for everything else Xmas, sorry penny I'm in the same boat as you. By Monday I will get more in the Xmas mode because the nutcracker is OVER. My dd loves all it, Rehersals, costume fittings, now dress Rehersals for 2-3 1/2 hours. She happy I'm sitting there making my list and wondering how much I can get done in a week

DD 12-5 P'sOTD were of Christmas lights in the city where my conference is. Too many to snap one photo so I took quite a few shots and will make a collage of them. Really, really snazzy ideas for lights - some people are artisans!
Thanks for the thread. | |

I have days 1-4 officially complete. I'm having a terrible time with any sort of interesting photos though. Primarily cuz I'm just not feeling Christmasy. I blame the crazy Texas heat we're having. It's supposed to get chillier this weekend so that should help!
