Something DD pointed out to me, most all of the younger men on this island have shaped eyebrows.

Is that the correct term for plucking them? To be honest, except for some that would otherwise have unibrows, I'd never heard of men having plucked brows at all.

What do the peas think?

Every so often I wax the middle of my DH's brows so he doesn't have the Frieda Kahlo unibrow. Lol. Nothing shaped though.

Shaping - no, grooming - yes.

There's a difference. Grooming to avoid the uni-brow is great as is trimming stragglers etc but altering the overall shape is too far for me. I don't like a man to look too groomed - it becomes feminine to look at IMO.

Today, I will be colouring outside the lines.

For me - nay. I like a little grooming on a man, but not too, too tidy.

There is a gentleman who works at our bank as a teller who has nicely shaped eyebrows. While I am occasionally tempted to ask him who does them as they are quite nice, I also find it a little distracting. It's very "done" and I honestly am not a fan of the "done" look on either men or women, although it seems to be very trendy right now.

*shrug* I've never really given it much thought. But I would think if their doing it right you would never really notice it.

Getting rid of the unibrow, yes.
Specifically "shaping" the brow? Lord, no.

um...no. getting rid of a unibrow? absolutely!!! My husband runs his beard trimmer over his to catch any stragglers which I thought was pretty ingenious! But no brow shaping. That guy on say yes to the dress has shaped brows and it just screams "I'm GAY!!" (not that there is anything wrong with that...) Just not very masculine!

Grooming - yay
Shaping - nay
But I live in the land of "guido juiceheads" and pretty boys so I am used to it. I don't like it though

Why not, if they like the way it looks on them?

Though personally, I agree with this:

if their doing it right you would never really notice it.

Nay. DH doesn't have his shaped, I like them more natural...BUT he has a couple long strands that the hairstylist trims when she cuts his hair.

I think a little"manscaping" is in order, but not to the point where it looks like a traditionally shaped woman's brow. Unless, of course, the man sidelines as a drag queen. In that case, I think a shaped brow would be just fine. I say this tongue in check, because while an arched brow isn't high on the list of what I find attractive in men, it is a personal decision, and I am all for men being well-kept and clean. My husband doesn't do anything, the oldest son does some plucking right in the middle, and the youngest doesn't have enough facial hair yet to worry about it.

Nay.

Men with "sculpted" eyebrows look like drag queens on a day off.

Nice grooming, trimming the unibrow? Fine.

Sculpted and perfect looking? Ick.

Speaking of drag queens, I had a dream about older drag queens last night. I know it's off topic, but there it is.

I wish I could link you up to someone that does beauty videos on YouTube, he's a drag queen but you would never know when you look at him. Yes he has a thin eye brow but when he does his drag makeup he actually blanks out his real eyebrows and draws them back in.

Your secret desire is to be a drag queen when you get older. That or you fell asleep watching RuPaul's Drag Race.

Lots of guys shape their eyebrows around here. Is it a South Florida thing? I don't know. But they are not shaped like womens' eyebrows. You can definitely tell they are cleaned up though. My threader has lots of clients who are men.

This. Trimming long hairs. Fine. Getting rid of a uni-brow. Fine. Plucking to shape the brows? Yuck.

It's going to be the same as the flowered shirts, print jeans, long hair, earring then earrings. It may take off or it may not. There was a time when women just accepted they had dark hair and dark hair over the lip. No one would dare say...you should wax. Sex for teens used to be a no no but it happened. One person can't rule the world. I know...I tried...lol.

No. Cleaning them up is one thing. Shaping them is totally different... And not a good look, IMO.

A judicious trim of straggly hairs is one thing, but "shaped" brows on a man? Ewww... no.

I, too, am a fan of taming the excessively wild & wooly, but that super-waxed look is not one I find appealing for men... Kind of like a male manicure. I appreciate the effort, but it's gone too far (for MY personal taste)!

I'm with the majority.

When the eyebrows start getting wild, trim them, but not to shape them. Shaped brows on a guy aren't attractive to me at all.

I think it is like women. Everyone should avoid a uni-brow because Bert from Sesame Street is about the only one who can rock that look. Everyone should also avoid looking like you drew you eyebrows on with a sharpie or any eyebrow shape that gives you the appearance of just having your nipple tweaked.

Other than that it is personal style. Some people really look good with shaped brows and others look ridiculous.
