Wow! Some of those are really amazing. Thanks for posting! Love the birdcage, winter wedding and the beach themed cakes. Those pastry chefs are so creative.

Where were these cakes when I got married? Every time I see one, I'm more embarrassed for my typical, three layer, supermarket made, cake.

I'm sure there were more choices when I was married, but I don't remember them being this many...or as nice as these are.

Man cake decorating has come along way. Remember all the bridges, and layers spread out over 8 foot of table?

Thanks!! I'll be pinning for ages now!!

But seriously - that photo you just posted dalayney??

I kid you not - I delivered a cake this summer that had to go on a tall acrylic stand similar to the one the main cake is on in your photo (but taller) and under it? There was a fountain.

Seriously.

But yet, I remember being a little girl wanting to LIVE on a cake like that. I thought the more walkways, bridges, fountain and plastic people, the better! I had big grande dreams as a 10yr old.

Thanks for sharing. I thought that I could rock the cake decorating but nothing close to these masterpieces.

You and me both!

Honestly, I think it is a rare cake artisan that can make cakes of that caliber look good.

Cake Diva, I thought of you when I saw that board!

WOW!!!!

Delany....I made a cake, just like the one you posted, for a neighbor's daughter's quinceanera, years ago. It was beautiful, but what a nightmare to transport and set up!!!

Wowzers! What beautiful works of art.
So - what do you think is the collective value of all the cakes on that board that Nicole posted? Maybe the economy isn't in such bad shape after all. I can't imagine anyone wanting to go into such a business in such a poor economy. Or are all the bakers represented located in high-end markets?
