I am interested to know the 2peas opinion on anyone taking this class.

This is the first class I've taken from SC, and it is very different than anything I am used to. Is this a normal format for SC classes. It feels like something from pinterest and/or like a bunch of blog posts (not that they are).

I would say this isn't the norm for Studio Calico. Usually it's a series of really well put together PDFs, some challenges and a scheduled live chat. For this one, the content feels like a bit of a hodge podge to me.

I'm still really happy with the class overall though. The value of products received (both physical and digital) are worth the cost of the class alone, the class lessons are just a bonus for me

I wasn't necessarily posting a negative comment, just trying to compare it's structure to other types of classes they offer. We did get a TON of STUFF!

I havent been super impressed with any of the SC classes I have taken. I get sucked in by the class kits, haha. I also hope each time that the class will actually do something for me. Hasnt happened yet

This is my 1st SC class so I have nothing to compare it too. But for the money I feel so far it is worth it.

I loved the mini kit and printables. I wish there were more printables vs cut files only because the cut files are so beautiful but we aren't all lucky enough to own a silhouette.

But other than that, I love that there is content from several ladies.

It's my first class, and while I loved the stuff involved (the journaling cards, etc), I think some of the pdfs should have been given sooner (like the one for preparing for DD and the Amy Tan one about memorabilia). I love the printable elements, but am doing JYC, so I just expected to be able to use the pieces before DD started.
I might have done DD if I had a 'here's how to get prepared' BEFORE the 5th or 6th of December.

Overall, I love the talents of the class, but things may have been done differently.

Laura I too have had questions about SC classes. I am not in this one but did take the Cut It Out class and was quite disappointed in it. Value wise is was worth the money with the kit and download card but as far as content or how it was presented it felt lacking. I have taken classes from Kerri Bradford and also the classes from Shimelle are the best on the web. I just think it was the high standards of these classes that I am used to that I felt that SC was just a class to sell product more than inform. Just not my cup of tea!

I have been totally uninspired by this class. I doubt I will take another from them. I want more like Nichol M's classes.

I've taken the stamp class, pop it up class and the cameo class and absolutely loved them! but this one, while I like it, it would have been a million times better if it was in November (the collecting things, base pages etc) and then in december we got to see how each design team member put it all together.

I totally agree with ladybug27. I have signed up for the PL class in January as well. Hoping they have great cuts for that too (more than what they've listed).

Oops!! Funny - not sure how that "slidy thing" got on my reply post. I'm still trying to figure out all the ins and outs with posting. Still not sure how people copy and paste a previous posters reponse. I tried - but it wasn't correct.

I took POP OFF THE PAGE and CUT IT OUT, both of which were a good deal. I sold both stamp sets, bringing the cost down to $14 each. That got me the pdfs and both product kits, plus lots of digital content and, for CUT IT OUT, a $10 download card. I wasn't interested in the DD class, but I almost signed up for the PL class for the digital content.

So it seems the consensus is the addons are worth the class price but the actual teaching side is lacking?

That's what I think. I didn't sign up for this class, but I've signed up for a few past ones basically for the class kits. I've usually glanced at the PDF's, but honestly, I don't think they've interested me all that much to follow along and take it as a true "class."

I really enjoy the 2Peas classes. Even though they don't come with class kits, I think the videos are so well put together, and I get so much more out of them.

I wouldn't say lacking really, just good in a different way. For instance the Cut it Out class would have been great if you were just starting out with your Silhouette. I've had mine a while so it wasn't really new content for me, though I did learn how to make a speech bubble shape. That class was far more thought out than the 25 days class. I didn't go in with high hopes for this one because of the negative comments I've seen regarding Maggie's classes.

The class contents are what make it for me, I go in for that if I get a great class out of it that's a bonus. I know it should be the other way around but I'm okay with it.

I agree there could be more content. I think the daily PDFs are short but I am enjoying the class. I liked the little kit and the add on files.

Is that the class starting in January? If so, it came with a kit, I think. So maybe look at it as getting some nice supplies??

Sorry you're disappointed though.

There classes are not wonderful, in my opinion. I only take them if I like the kit enough to justify the cost. This one doesn't even make sense to me, they should have this be the class for last month, especially since none of the digital content was available until the first of
December.

Well one thing about this class being in December it is good for those of us who are doing our albums AFTER the holidays. I am not on board with this frenzied idea of DAILY. So I am going to put my album together in the new year with the kit, the class stuff, and my favorite photos. No stress and it makes the class very relevant for me.

I have not enjoyed either of the classes I took there. I got this one for the kit and the printables, but also can't figure out why they were not available until the first. I realize some people do their Dd after the holidays, but the original intent of a DD is to have everything ready to go before hand,s o all you have to do is journal and pop your pictures in every day.
I like the printables and the class kit, but the content is lacking.

Whosthischick, thanks for asking! I've been on the fence about a class, even though I love their kits!

I've been disappointed in classes by other companies and it makes me hesitant to purchase any without broad feedback.

I would have to agree that the teaching side of their classes is lacking but a great value when they come with a mini kit and all of the digital content. The best class I have taken from SC this year was Kelly Purkey's Sketchbook class. It never got boring so I never forgot about going to the SC site daily to go to the classroom. I really miss KP being around over there...I just love her! Miss her stamp designs being a part of SC too.

I definately signed up for the class to complete my December Daily right now..as it is happening. This is the first year I am doing it and am planning to start Project Life in January. So I wanted to start the new year with a clean slate (so to speak).

Its sad now, I have, to remind myself to go to the class site and see what is up.

I took Kelly Purkeys sketchbook (taken all of them but one) and they r jan packed I think. The only other one I've take. Is Cut it out and I was able to get the free kit aptitude the download card. PLUs, I am a rewards member so I get 25% off classes. Makes almost any class worth it.

I've taken the stamp, silhouette, and now the DD class. I'm signed up for the PL class next month too.

The stamp and silhouette classes were a disappointment, but I signed up 100% for the class kit.
I signed up 50/50 for the DD class because of the kit, but I haven't found it inspiring yet..I do love the cuts and the other pieces I got.
I love the stamp with the PL class, but I'm thinking of doing the project in a modified format next year and I'm hoping to get some ideas and structured for starting.

I don't even remember to look

That's me, as well. I've only been remembering to log in about twice a week. I have to say though, I did get a couple of things out of the class content.

This first was a tutorial from Kinsey Wilson on how to do hand-stitching on the album cover. Loved that since it was not something I had ever thought to do before, nor would I ever had tried it on my own for fear of ruining an album! Definitely something I want to try now.

The second thing was a photography tutorial from Marcy Penner. I'm more of a point and shoot photographer, so to get some tips from her was awesome. And her pdf was the most detailed and well put together of all the class pdf's so far.

Marcy - if you are reading this - if you ever decide to do a class on your own here at 2peas, you can count on me to sign up!

This is my 2nd SC class and I am pretty underwhelmed by it. But it was like $17 with my discount - so the class kit and cutting files mAke it worth it IMHO. But the class content is pretty dismal.

I took the Silhouette class last month and I loved it- I learned a lot! That one was around $26 after subscriber discount - and I received a $10 Sil download card, several great cutting files, and a great class kit with pow glitter paper, washi paper, sticker paper, stamps etc - plus I loved the class!

I'm also signed up for the PL "day by day" class in January- it wAs also I think $26 with discount? Not sure- I just received the stamp set for this class today - the rest of the content is digital - cutting files and printables, PDFs, etc - so hopefully it's good.

I've taken three of the SC classes. the first was Kelly Purkey's Sketch book - and I loved that class. I still go back to the sketches! Then I did the stamp class, and was disappointed; and I did the Cut it out and was disappointed. Even though the kits look nice, I have decided that I probably won't take anymore SC classes.

on the other hand I took the December Daily Bootcamp from Goassamer Blue and loved it - good content, presented well, good interaction with instructors on the forum. I will do more classes from GB.
