A friend from church, her 15 year old daughter has been fighting a brain tumor for the last year and a half. Yesterday, they found out that it has taken over 2/3 of her brain and is bleeding inside. They have discontinued all treatment and brought her home.
The doctors say anywhere from 2-4 weeks is all she has left.
The outpouring of love and prayers on facebook is phenomenal.
I'd like to put together some kind of a memory book, printing out each person's posts with their names, of course.
My problem is how do I do this? I don't think there is really enough for a 12x12. I don't want it to be an 8 1/2 x 11 notebook with page protectors. I want it a little artsier than that.
I thought about using a couple of chipboard albums, but I'm not sold on that idea.
I honestly don't know how big this may or may not get. And I'm not positive it won't include photos either.
Suggestions? We are just all broken hearted and my brain isn't working all that well.
Thanks. | |

First, I am so sorry for your friend and her family and loved ones. They're in my thoughts.
Second, what do you mean when you say "print out each person's posts"? Depending on how large these are I might use simple PPs in a timeless color scheme and just mount each one to a page. Maybe embellish with some flower stamps or die cuts, but keep it pretty simple. I'd probably use the smallest album size I could just because not everyone has the space to store a 12*12 album (they don't fit all book shelves, and you'd need a pretty large box to store it in)

You might consider a 8x8 album. It is a easier to add to than a chipboard album and not too large for a shelf. I don't do facebook but if it is possible to 'copy/paste' the posts I would then print them on a light colored paper (does she have a favorite color?) and use them on the pages with whatever feels right to you. Flowers? Gems? Butterflies? Ribbon? And yes to pictures if you have access to some that would be meaningful.
My daughter has passed and I would have loved this so I felt I should reply. I am doing her wedding pages (25 yrs later) and I am finding flowers and butterflies are setting a peaceful mood. |

I'm sorry for you and your friends. I can't even imagine this without tearing up.
There are programs that allow you to download or print the contents of Facebook pages. Unfortunately, I don't know them.
Perhaps you should change the post title to be more specific and Peas in the Know will make suggestions?
For example:
Facebook Memorial Album - Help Needed
This will be a beautiful gift, you are a sweet friend!

Thank you, ladies. After I posted, I remembered an 8x8 that I already had. It is a turquoise color. Her favorite colors are pink and purple. I was thinking I would print out the things people have written onto pink and purple copy paper that I already have (to keep the pages as thin as possible so there can be as many as possible).
Flowers and butterflies are a great idea for embellishments. I was thinking some words like "love" and "peace" and "blessings" would be good to add, too. I have stamps from SU that I can use for that.
Duchess, thank you for telling me you'd love to have one for your daughter. I wasn't sure this would be a good thing or not. I don't want to cause more pain for the family, but I thought knowing that others are praying for them a lot would help.
I'll add to the book as time goes on.
Thank you again.
And please keep praying for Kelsey and her family.

I'm so sorry to hear this about your friends daughter. I have a 15 yo daughter and can't even imagine going thru something like that. Hugs, thoughts, and prayers.
You can check out PrintWorthy at Walgreens.com. It's a special program that lets you print a photo along with the comments. There's an example at the very bottom of the photo tab page. I'm not sure if that's what you had in mind but wanted to share that option.
