Ok, so a little bit back I posted about how excited I was to be doing a December Daily book this year. And a ton of you responded and helped me out and gave me ideas and well, were just generally the kind and wonderful peas that you normally are.
Well, I have a confession to make.
I have YET to actually start my album.
I think I have cold feet. Or something. It's been so long since I've actually scrapped, I guess I'm afraid to actually glue stuff down. I have the book. I have all the goodies. I even have each and every day (so far) planned out. I've taken some pictures for each day (when I remembered to) and actually planned out the days on graph paper but I just can't commit.
What the heck is wrong with me?

I agree with Vicki - tomorrow just start. Cut up paper and start gluing things together. It's only paper and sparkly stuff! Use it and enjoy it.

Are you taking the pics? Jotting down any journaling? I haven't finished my album yet either, and it's a tiny one, but I am snapping pics here and there, and making little notes. If it gets done in January or February, that's fine too. | |

I completely know where you are coming from! I actually built my DD in 2009 and then just didn't end up doing it... for THREE YEARS! I was determined that I was going to use it this year, but still I only started it about 2 days ago. I am almost caught up, but getting that first page done was the hardest. Once I broke the "ice" and got started, the rest was easy. Just sit down and do it!! Can't wait to see what you put together!  | |

This is my first year of DD/JYC and I don't think there's anything *wrong* with you! I just did 3 pages last night. It's taking me longer than I thought it would--mostly b/c I am not a scrapbooker and I'm doing a scrappy style, and I have particular ideas of what my pages will include.
I also had "technical difficulties", i.e., a computer that got a virus that affected my printer. So I could not print photos for a couple of days.
Also, I wanted to include a family recipe, and had to type it in a text box in Adobe InDesign to get it on the paper I wanted to use...stuff like that.
I think you will be OK. I keep reading all over the place about people who finish their DDs a year later. You're normal!

Don't feel bad. I spent $100 on the darn SC DD kit and I haven't started my album either. I have been taking pictures so hopefully this week I can catch up. | |

Check out Jen Gallacher's DD (I saw it on another post). It's not your traditional daily - I like her concept.

You can still do a DD and not plan ahead. I never do mine ahead, because I don't want to be limited on my pictures. It can take you a year to do it, no rules, ok? | |

I just dove in on December 1st with a DD book using what I had on hand. It hasn't been daily but there is a lot of good stuff in it I know my kids will enjoy looking through in the years to come. The crazy thing that also came about - I worked backwards to when school started in August, through my youngest DD's birthday, Halloween, Thanksgiving, up to today.
I can actually say I have caught up with my scrapbooking due to December Daily. The kids don't have clean clothes, but by gosh my year in pictures is done!!!
Another thing I discovered along the way is our family has more traditions in place between Halloween and New Years than I even realized.
In a nutshell - dive in a do what you can do. Enjoy it along the way. Make it a single page - make it five. Have fun with it and do DD for you. | |

I didn't start my DD until the new year. I had photos and a rough journaling. But did nothing until January. I am planning on doing one for each of my 3 daughters. Have I started yet....nope, lol. You have time | |

Well, guess what?
Today I have officially started!! I have a full two days off from work, it's ice & cold outside and the hubs is at work, where he will be tied up, so I can have some scrappy time!
