I was just wondering if I'm the only one who isn't doing a lot of scrapping right now. I'm trying to take photos for my december album, but other than that and my design team obligations I feel like I am not making any time to scrapbook for fun...and that I'm neck-deep in other types of creative holiday projects. I kind of miss just scrapping for fun...I know it's only a few more weeks until the holidays are over though, so I'll be ready to do lots of fun pages in January!! Am I the only one?

I've scrapped twice since I found out I was pregnant in August and one of those was Christmas gifts. I look at all my scrappy stuff and so want to get messy and dig in but by the end of the day when my boys are in bed I'm exhausted. I'm hoping to get a bit of scrapping in before lil bean makes his appearance in March but I'm not hopeful.

I am in a real funk right now, so scrapping isn't as appealing as it normally is. This funk, I suspect, could last me a few months. That has happened only once before, in 2003-04, when I did two layouts in eight months. But I took up cardmaking then.
|Posted: 12/11/2012 10:24:55 AM|Well, Jenn, I think you have an awesome excuse for not scrapping right now! Congrats on your soon-to-be addition! I guess the bright side is still finding time to visit Two Peas and storing lots of fun ideas to create later!

Nope, definately not the only one. I have put scrapping, blogging, and other crafty projects on hold to do what needs to be done and enjoy the rest of the holidays. I plan to clean my scraproom out on New Year's Eve, while my husband and daughter do fireworks. That is my tradition.

I'm still writing for my JYC prompts, and taking lots of pictures - and many more to come - but the actual scrapping has to wait.

Me too. Between work, workouts, holiday decorating, holiday baking, Christmas shopping and gift wrapping just have had very little time to scrap. And I need to finish an album for my grandson before Christmas. I am going away for the weekend (dh's Christmas party) so the only hope I have is next week when my vaca starts but going to in-laws over Christmas so have to finish before next weekend..YIKES!
|Posted: 12/11/2012 10:50:11 AM|The only scrapbooking that I have done is buying scrapbook stuff. I started JYC and then stopped, not sure why. My craft room is clean and I am waiting on my order to start PL. Just waiting!

It's a busy time of year...I have been making lots of other things so I feel less like scrapping at the moment. I am off work sick for now and I feel too rubbish to even scrapbook - you know it must be bad!

Fall/winter is when I do most of my scrapping due to weather being crummy for outdoor activities. I rarely scrap during summer
|Posted: 12/11/2012 11:05:13 AM|I feel like I've been on a scrapping hiatus forever. I keep trying to get back into a regular rhythm but i don' think life is allowing it right now I made a couple pages over the Thanksgiving Break, and hoping to make a couple more during my Christmas/New Year's vacation. For those working full -time, when do you find time to scrap???

Not on total hold because I find it to be my best stress reducer. But I have alot of other crafty type projects this time of year (gift tags, cards, decorations, cookies etc) so I still get my creative fix in!

I have been working a ton but on DT projects that I am trying to get ahead on. I want to clear my calendar for 2 weeks and enjoy the holidays without having to worry about my deadlines. Now with that being said- have I scrapped for just the fun of it--no but that is ok with me because i really want some down time!
|Posted: 12/11/2012 11:39:32 AM|
Yep, all my craft time has shifted toward holiday crafts. The bad part is that I had just gotten into a roll with my scrapping before I had to put it on hold...I am hoping it comes back quickly in January.

My guest room (which is also my craft room) is full of Christmas stuff - boxes, gifts, wrapping paper. I usually do a lot of scrapping in January once all the Christmas stuff is put away.

I think I've actually been doing more than usual, for the same reason as Dancingfish - it's great stress relief! Giving myself an hour or two to scrap or make cards every day makes me want to power through my to-do list.

No.... You aren't the only one. It's hard this time of year with all of the holiday stuff going on to find the time and/or energy to scrap. I haven't scrapped since thanksgiving weekend!

I am on a hold too. Between hurricane Sandy, subsequent ongoing repairs, relatives coming on T-giving, holiday shopping, work, massive amounts of dental appointments, birthdays and a ton of other stuff, scrapbooking is on the back burner. I got my DD album core put together, but I have taken maybe 2 photos so far and did not journal anything for JYC. It's my favorite project that I look forward to all year, and this year it's not going so well, it's not going at all =( I am hoping this weekend to try and do something while I'm recovering from wisdom teeth removal.

I scrap in my dining room...so right now I'm packing all my stash up so I can decorate the room and get it ready for Christmas Eve dinner. It will all come back the week after Christmas and I'll start putting my Dec Daily together. Right now all I'm doing is taking a photo a day and keeping notes about what we are doing each day.

I kind of have. I stopped for a couple of years, and started getting back into it around August this year, but it seems to be on hold right now due to holidays, moving, cheer practice for DD, one child at home and now its competition time, so the last couple of months have been crazy. I say kind of because right now I'm creating Christmas cards, or trying to lol (I'm not much of a card maker I'm afraid)

Mine's actually a bit opposite. Our big holiday traveling was for Thanksgiving this year (we were gone 2 weeks), plus family in town and another trip in October. So autumn was my scrappy-hiatus, and now I'm getting back into it!
Sueg - Could you put together a small amount of supplies (like a 12x12 Iris box with a few photos and kits, plus a handful of embellies and basic tools, and keep that in your room while you have guests?
I share my scraproom with the guestroom too, and sometimes I do that if we have extended guests and I know I'll want the stres-relief of scrapping! Just a thought - I know kits aren't for everyone.

|Posted: 12/11/2012 3:34:17 PM|I'm chomping at the bit! We moved at the end of October & my scrap space is going to be in the basement - we're still hanging things on the walls and I'm busy with work and school. At any rate...I'm DYING to scrap. I just make a $65 TwoPeas purchase today & spent $194 at A's last Friday.

|Posted: 12/11/2012 4:34:28 PM|Add me to the "dying to scrap" list. I haven't scrapped since September!!!!
For me, it definitely wasn't a planned break. I went to CKC in mid-September and have a rule - no scrapping until I put away my new purchases. Well, shortly after that, I started up my own business and it was a LOT more successful than I anticipated. So all my "free time" that I was going to use to put things away was eaten up by work. And then, when I wasn't working, I was trying to catch up on PL!
I'm now caught up to week 47 in PL at least and THEN I can get back to putting away scrap stuff and THEN hopefully I can scrap again!
|Posted: 12/11/2012 4:39:45 PM|
Yes, I have DD 1-5 complete, but that's all the scrapping I've done in about two weeks. I have photos printed for 6-10, but baking, shopping, cards and wrapping are going be first in line before scrapping. I may get a little time on Thursday or over the weekend. We'll see. I miss my paper, glue and embellies!

got Christmas cards and supplies ALL OVER the place
need to make 20 gift card holders for DH's work and a couple more card sets....yep, definitely on hold til January

Cameel- I work full time and I squeeze it in when I can. For December I am really only working on DD and my pages have been coming together pretty quickly, so if I get 1/2 to an hour a night in...I stay pretty caught up.

I'm on a scrapping hold too. Haven't finished a page since July. But then I've been on bedrest for the past year. Cannot sit up more than two hours at a time three times a day. I'm hoping this will be the last month. Haven't figured out a way to scrap while on my side in bed.

No scrapping here since I found out I was pregnant. Morning sickness has been really bad and with two kids to care for nothing has been getting done. Hoping to get some done in 2013. Need to catch up on baby albums before the new arrival in July.

Nope. It might slow down a bit with all the busyness of the season, but it's not on hold. I'm actually just getting to scrap some swim team pictures from summer. And I'm all excited about that!

Yes!! First it was morning sickness then it was just plain old exhaustion. Between working full time and getting ready for my baby I have just been overwhelmed. I did start cleaning my disaster of a studio today so maybe I will find something scrappy to do and jump in again

I just took the past 2 years off! lol! Not totally intentional...life just got crazy. Now things have seemed to settle down and I have a few pages on my desk. I have so missed it! I have felt a bit rusty but have been checking out the gallery and the videos here at 2Ps and seem to be getting back into the groove.

I had a small bedroom all set up for scrapping...and I used it nearly every day....then on Dec. 22, 2009, my FIL was diagnosed with stage 3 Lung Cancer. He lives in East Texas 2 hours away from Dallas and we live just south of Dallas so I cleared out that bedroom for him, packed up all my scrap stuff and haven't really gotten it back out since.
Now, my DD finished college and has moved out permanently so I have 2 bedrooms I can play with. I'm going to make the first one a real guest room (it has nothing but Christmas gifts in it now) and the back bedroom will be for my crafts & projects.
I seem to have forgotten how to make time for scrapping, though. And my photos are a mess in my computer, need to spend time organizing them. And I haven't printed pics to put in my plain photo albums in years. And I have years of scrapbooks for my DD and now my DS is expressing interest so I need to start on one for him....he's 29!
I need to pull myself together and get back into it.

It isn't entirely on hold, but I don't get much done. My parents need a lot of help at their age and are not well. So that takes precedence over scrapping. So far this year I think I have completed 3 layouts and one card.

|Posted: 12/12/2012 11:17:49 PM|I'm in a bit of a funk too. Aside from my design team assignments I'm not really doing much of anything. It's kinda weird, but I think it's because I feel guilty about falling so far behind in my PL. Or, my attempt at PL. It didn't work out so good. And now I'm just like "should I scrap something else? am I ever going to finish this or just crap out like with everything else?" It's pretty depressing.

i had a long period of "on hold", i was just overwhelmed with the scrapping world, and believed my work wasnt "good enough"
so i just stopped,
in the last 6 months or so, i have joined a kit club, and started scrapping again, and am loving it again
i work full time and have 6 adults living in my house (kids and partners), so it is hectic, but i try to spend a few hours every weekend, or at least every 2nd,
i no longer bother with making gifts, and cards - cause that stuff stressed me out, so it is just for me, and my immediate family, and i am very happy again

I had an opportunity to do a paid scrapbook album for someone else! But, haven't worked on my own since July. I really want to complete this album in 2013! It's time!

I too feel like you do, Wendy. I haven't done much scrapping for me actually for most of this year. I have made about a third of the amount of LO's I usually make in a year. It has been mainly DT assignments. I am finding it hard to do with wanting to spend time with my kids and all that we have going on here.
