I am trying to craft as many of the "family" gifts this year as I can in order to save on money.
My brother is a minister and I would like to make something nice for he and his wife that has a Christian tone to it. I have a Cricut and can cut most files. I also dabble in painting.
Any ideas? |

I am doing the same thing! I'm cutting out my s-I-l's favorite bible verse and putting it on a 6x6 tile that you can get at Lowes or HD. | |

If you cut vinyl and apply it to tile, it looks nice and is very inexpensive. Here are a few samples of ones I've done:

You can apply the vinyl to glass vases and do glass etching, too. I've been doing that with vases from the dollar store, but I haven't taken photos of them yet. |

How about putting different names of Jesus on plain glass ornaments? You can use vinyl or self-adhesive sheets with glitter/ flock. Try looking at google images - lots of things under "names of Jesus". This is on my to-do list. | |

I have Winter Wonderland cart and am making books (PAPER) for preschoolers of the Birth story. That cart is perfect. Don't know if there are any preschoolers in the family that need gifts. You could also make a felt flannel board activity.
The Glass Blocks make nice gifts and are only $4 at our Local Hardware Store. I have one but am stumped regarding what verse or quote I want to use. I even have the lights to place inside. |

Lots of great ideas here! I, too, want to create gifts this year. One gift I'm making is using the Artist Printers Tray by 7 Gypsies. I intend to use the 4 slot one, with 4 photos, one slot of scripture and one for embellishments of some sort. Now to find the time to do so!  |
