Kerri Bradford is teaching a year-long class in 2013 focusing on story telling called The History Project and it's very interesting to me.

Has this been discussed here? Anyone taking it?

I'm totally thinking of signing up for this one--it sounds interesting and I like things where I can be introspective. There are so many good classes starting in Jan that I am really having trouble deciding!

Right now I am leaning towards this class and OLW. I am just not sure if I will follow through with something weekly. If I knew I could do it I would also sign up for Tangie Baxter's Art Journal Caravan at Scrapbook Graphics.

Right now I'm running through KB's Cameo classes and I want to get through those too! I'm going to finish buying them before the end of the year so I can get the discount.

@liannallama do you like the cameo classes? I had an sd and upgraded to a cameo. I also bought the designer edition software. I was thinking of take the classes. Any pros/cons??

I am on the first class and it's pretty basic, but I like the way she shows everything. I didn't want to miss anything, so I figured I'd better start at the beginning. I am following along with each lesson and I feel it gives a good base on how to do everything.

I'm really looking forward to the designer class.

I took Kerri's Just Add Color and I loved it! It really helps you get used to the software. I recommend it, and she also told me the basic Cameo class covers some stuff that isn't covered in the Color class. You might want to post a message on her blog to make sure you pick the best class for where you are now and where you want to be.

Her classes are really good and you get a lot of files too.

I am very tech-savvy and not afraid to jump in and play and learn stuff. I had my cameo for a few months and had used it quite a bit and I still learned some good stuff in the basic class.

I am intrigued by her History Project. I've been thinking a long time of doing something like this, but wasn't sure how to start. I think this could be a help.

I thought about taking her History Project class but I hate to write. Hate it with a passion. That may be all the more reason to take the class though! Maybe I'll get better at it!

I have taken her first three Silhouette classes and loved them all. I bought the SD back when they advertised it on tv. Like another poster, I upgraded to the Cameo and designer software. I'm so glad I took the basics class even though I'd had (and used) my Sil for years. I learned a lot. I've been toying with the idea of the Just Add Color class.

On a total side note, I just got why they named it the Cameo. I never connected Silhouette with Cameo before. Lol. The Portrait goes right along with it!

I am thinking about doing this! I am also wanting to do OLW.

I want to do KB's class because my grandmother and great-aunt died this last year and there are so many stories from their lives that I wish I knew but did not think to ask them about until too late.

I actually enjoy writing, but it's a hard discipline to master.

I thought her prompts might force, er, I mean encourage , me to write down things that I remember. Whether or not any of these ever turn into scrappy LO's is not the point, per se, but I do want to write some of my stories....

Thanks everyone for the feedback. $47 isn't too bad of a price. And I have a gift card I can use for it. It's the living with it all year that I fail miserably with. But, I think, "Hey - Rome wasn't built in a day!" The prompts will keep and at the end of the year, whatever I've accomplished can be for the good.

I signed up last week. Journalling weekly about me is a little out of my comfort zone....figured it is always good to challenge myself. I have taken Kerri's Cameo classes and enjoyed them so I am sure this will be fun too...she's such a good teacher!

Thank you for sharing this Penny. This year I took Ali's 31 Things class which was about writing stories. I have never taken a class with Kerri but this looks like it might be a great next step for me!

I am seriously considering taking this class. The only thing stopping me from signing up right now is the year long commitment. I'm not entirely sure I will last. Feels kind of like being back in school again... and I haven't been in school for many many years. DD might get a kick out of ME actually having "homework"...

With respect to Kerri's other classes, I took the Designer Edition class and absolutely LOVED it. Very informative and I've had to watch the videos a couple of times to have what she taught sink ink!

I am going to take it. I think even if I don't do all 52 weeks (I tend to fizzle out on year long classes), several stories are better than none. I really want my MIL and mom (they are both 80ish) to take it too, I think it would be good to get them to write from prompts to get some of their stories down.

I signed up. I really could use the help in journaling and the class sounds interesting. I bought one of those "Creative Chaos" smash-type book from Michaels and was thinking if it would be a good idea to use it for this class.

I'm signing up.

My goal at this point is just to get some of the stories down. I plan to use a composition book and keep.it.simple.

If I go back and make pages from the memories, great. If not, that is fine too. I really want to get some of these memories down and hoping the prompts will spark more. Getting old here, ya know?

I am REALLY interested in this class. I wish there was just one example of a prompt. I don't feel comfortable shelling out $50 sight unseen, you know?

It sounds like a great class though. Something I've been thinking about doing for a long time now.

I hadn't heard of this class, so thank you for mentioning it! It looks fabulous!

I agree that it would be great to get at least a small example of the types of prompts that will be used. I have a tendency to fall behind and lose momentum in long classes so it would be nice to make sure this would be a good fit before registering.

I have only taken the Cameo Classes at Jessica Sprague with Kerri Bradford so I haven't seen examples of her PDFs. But... I think $1 a week is a good deal for a PDF and prompt with examples of her work. Kerri is awesome about throwing in cut files too. I'm all signed up and ready to go!

I have taken one of her Silhouette classes, simply due to my own time constraints. I do like her teaching method. I think I am going to sign up for this, too. I just really, really like her and this class seems right up my alley.

I'm not a fan of writing either, but I look at it as getting one of Kerri's cutting files every week. Anyone familiar with her knows that alone is worth it.

I think I'm going to use that smash book I bought and never used.

I'll sign up tomorrow morning - I am too busy watching football tonight!

Also, I am not clear that each week includes a cut file. Does it really??

Hey - here's what I think I am doing with my assignments: I am going to type them up as I am a big typist vs. handwriter and put them in a page protector in a 3 ring binder. I may put them into my WRMK One Little Word binder that never got full - or I may find a fun binder at Target.

And I may or may not add pictures later.

I did get the email right after I signed up. Parents are in town so I don't think I can go peek at anything today. Maybe early tomorrow morning. Excited!!

I'm not one to spend $ on classes. Yesterday, I felt an inner voice say, "Write your memoir". WTH? My life is boring. But, I know if I didn't follow the inner voice I'd regret it. This class will help me get a start on writing my memoir.

I have been working on my family history, so this class seemed like a perfect enhancement to get my stories down and to get me jumpstarted on asking the right questions of my relatives. I received the email tonight and have already finished the first assignment! My journal is just a composition book that I have decorated. I hope that I will really keep up -- right now I am just sad that I have to wait another week for a prompt! Thanks Kerri!!

I absolutely love maps. A store on Etsy makes vintage map-covered composition books but I only write on unlined paper - I requested a sketchbook with blank pages and she made one for me!

Thanks for posting the link to those map books--they are so CUTE!

I'm going to use the Red Fancy Pants Brag Book
HERE

It has enough sections that I can separate them by month if I want or whatever I decide. Then I can combine things in the photo sleeves and pocket pages--kind of like a smash style. And of course I have some awesome washi tapes to coordinate!

I was going to use this for my OLW too, but I don't think there will be enough room to do both. I can always fall back on a notebook I have that fits ATCs for that anyways.

I have completed my first entry! I think I am going to type my journaling(faster, helps me organize my thoughts, easily edited)first. I will at some point hand write the journaling and "foo foo" the pages a little as Kerri says.

I think handwriting is just so important. I have a cookbook that my grandmother made her notes in that I just adore. I know what my mom's favorite dishes were from that cookbook. I also have my grandmother's bible that she made notes in of her favorite verses and her handwritten thoughts are a treasure. As much as I don't like handwriting, I'm going to make myself do it!

I finally signed up (a day after the discount; that's what I get for taking too long to decide!). I'm excited to get my first prompt and get going!

I ordered an Avery Comfort mini binder from Amazon that should be here Friday. I like the thought of being able to handwrite or just insert typed notes or scrapbooked pint-size pages.

I have to say I just finished my first assignment and I think I'm in love!

I bought a Martha Stewart red 3-ring binder today from Staples and I just loaded it with 26 page protectors and my first assignment is slipped in.

I stopped by Michael's and picked up a big pad of graph paper and I am printing my assignments out on it. I used Pharmacy and Honey Script fonts and ran a piece of washi tape down the right margin. And I totes have the little documented date office stamp and slapped it on there in aqua ink.

I how it looks. It is totally me and I think it's going to be a great way to accumulate and corral my story.
