Can any of the peas tell me how the tinsel color compares to the gold lame? I love the look of the lame, but really tend to prefer silver. Does the tinsel have the same sheen, and have as good of coverage as the gold? Thanks in advance!

In my opinion, the tinsel isn't as great as the gold. Instead of being a transparent sheen like the gold, it's more of a gray with some metallic. Kind of a bummer, because it would be awesome if it were like the gold!

I also prefer silver to gold. I really like tinsel, but I don't have gold to compare it to.

I'm embarrassed to admit that I own both and have never tried them.

I prefer the gold to the tinsel. Like was said, the tinsel is a sort of gray/green color. I don't like it as much.

For me, Tinsel is more of a pewter than a silver, and not nearly as shiny as Gold Lame.

I'm a tinsel girl. the gold lame is lovely but the tinsel is such a pretty color. I'm actually pretty obsessed with all of the HS Color Shine Colors.

I just bought about 8 bottles of HS colorshine. Now I need to find time to use it.

Here is a comparison for you. I double sprayed both of them. The Tinsel dries to a nice shiny silver, wet it does look grey/green. The Gold Lame is more muted, but still as pretty. Takes much longer to dry when double sprayed. The silver dried to the touch in 5 minutes, the gold after 15 still is not dry. Hope this helps you

Thanks, Polly! I haven't tried the tinsel yet, but now I'm curious. I think it's the only one I don't have yet. I stress YET.

Oooooh, thanks for the show and tell Polly...I think this pushes me over and I'll be getting tinsel! I love how the lame looks, but don't see myself using it very much, but the tinsel...could make its way onto lots of projects!

Thanks for the pics!

It's too bad they didn't make it sparkly like the gold. What was Heidi thinking?!

The tinsel is more sparkly than it looks. I have all of the HS Color Shine colors and I love the tinsel.

I prefer the Tinsel! I'm more into the vintagy-pewter look, so it is something I was drawn to, over the gold.
