I like the premade kits. So the Becky Higgins kits seem to be what I am limited to... The only ones i really like are the baby and baby for her kits... i have 2 girls but my youngest turned one 2 wks ago. However the few photos I can find of it show various cards about pregnancy. :/ and those won't work. My project life is mostly about my kids anyways so the cute phrases i really like. but im just not sure since im not preg or w a young baby. So - has anybody bought this kit and in your most honest opinion would this work for somebody that isn't pregnant and doesn't have a baby... |

The core kits have weekly title cards (4x6), but the baby kits have title cards for months 1-12, plus other things relating to a baby's first year (birth, blessing, etc).
I just got the Baby for Him kit, and I've only flipped through it briefly. But I will say that there is a lot more brown in the kit that I realized (I thought it would be just yellow and grey).
The content card says it contains:
80 3x4 prompt cards
400 3x4 journaling cards
12 bi-fold journal cards
40 4x6 prompt cards
25 4x6 pre-labeled title cards
35 4x6 blank title cards
8 front page cards
8 last page cards
As to whether it would work for a regular PL - I think it depends on what you want from it. If you really want 52 matching title cards for each week, then I'm not sure. Otherwise I think you could probably make it work, just knowing that there will be quite a few cards that won't work (although you might be able to cover up journal prompts or something with a sticker or other patterned paper).
Hopefully someone else will chime in who has really opened up their baby kit and has a better idea of exactly what it contains! |

TexasJen - there is a baby kit that is neither him not her (there's 3 total) that is mainly grey/yellow. |

And, TexasJen - are the 80 prompts all different? Or are there multiples? |

Oops...I misspoke earlier. I do have the "neutral" Baby edition. And it's really not yellow and grey so much as yellow and light brown.
A lot of what looked really grey in the online pictures, looks more like a light tan in person - at least to me. And some of the yellow is more of a bright orange-yellow. It's not really the colors I was expecting.
Honestly, now that I pulled it back out to look, I'm considering returning it and trying the For Him version. (I initially didn't want it b/c it looked so orange and aqua online, but now I'm wondering if those colors are off too? ) Anyway, that's probably personal preference.
Let me check the prompts... |

Okay, so there are 80 3x4 prompt cards.
44 are unique and say things like "first bath" - basically a lot of firsts, plus several pregnancy-related things (cravings, announcing the pregnancy, etc), info about mom/dad/heritage stuff, and a lot of time capsule type stuff (like cost of gas when you were born, who was president, etc).
Then there are 12 each of 3 different prompts - "This month's stats", "etc", and "worth mentioning".
FWIW, most of the prompts are just along the horizantal or vertical edge, so you could probably cover them with a strip of paper, or a fairly opaque washi tape. |

I got the her kit and there are a ton of cards, yes some repeats. When I went through the cards I honestly thought "wow there are way more cards then I will use in my album. I can either kit the rest for fillers in another baby album or use them in my girls scrapbook".
I would recommend getting it and if you don't plan on using some of the prompt cards give them to a friend. Some of the prompt cards I could even use in their yearly scrapbooks so I am glad I got the kit. There was way more green than I would like, but plan on covering those cards up so not much is showing.
Overall a great kit and can't wait for the school years kit. |

ok - so i changed my mind yet again - I think I will use the baby girl kit - and the seafoam kit. I like the youngness of the baby kit - and I think it should mesh well w the seafoam. |

I think you'll be fine even if you don't use those 44 cards - like Elizabeth said, there are a ton of cards. (400 other journal ones without a specific prompt).
I did end up returning mine today, but it was totally because of the colors. The number/type of journal cards were good, I thought. It would give you enough 3x4 cards to use one every day for a year, and still have over 100 left! |
