I have been resisting the mists craze but caved and picked up some Dylusions for my DD, then didn't use them.

I got my first pack of wood veneers for Christmas.

I used both for the first time last night and OMG!!! Those tiny little stars are so perfect especially for cards. And I could have used then raw but wanted to color them. The most made it so easy (and market or ink would have been tough since they are so small). Why did I wait so long!?

Did you get good coverage on the veneers with the mists? I played a little bit with them, and I didn't think they covered well, and I added several layers of mist. I was using the Mister Huey's mists.

Devildog - I did!

Granted, the stars are teeny and I sprayed pretty close up. I was also using the Ranger Dylusions spray which I understand is more saturated with pigment. Let me see if I can upload and link a pic with my iPad.

Ok I can't find the edit button on the website, or the insert URL button on the app. Technologically challenged over here.

Thank you card with veneers

Sorry for the not stellar photos - DH has the "real" camera and I didn't edit it or anything so that is a straight up iPad shot. I also included a pic of the box I used to mist into so you can see how concentrated it is.
I have some Mister Huey's on the way and I would like less pigment for some applications, but these were great for coloring the veneers.

WOW--those look great! Mine most definitely did NOT look like that after using the Mister Huey's.

I did buy the gold and silver Heidi Swapp sprays, so I want to play with those. I thought the silver might look great on the snowflake veneers. I'm also going to look into the Ranger mists, I've never heard of them.

Thanks for sharing-your card is great!

Thanks! I am thanking people who gave me crafty things, using the their gifts.

This spray came in a pack with purple and I got it at Hobby Lobby, regular price $10 for the pack. You can get them individually at SSS- can I say that?

Also they apparently look great with alcohol markers if you have them. Jennifer McGuire with copics

devildog - Have you tried painting with the mists? I've done it on the wood veneers, and I get better coverage and less waste this way.

I have painted my veneers with mists and it works great!

I'll just take the sprayer out of the bottle and spread it around with the end of the sprayer.

I haven't tried painting, so maybe that would make a difference.

Adding that to my "Things to Try" list.

Were I to use HS tinsel on the veneer snowflakes, I would paint them white first.

What is everyone using to adhere their wood veneers to their pages, especially the tiny stars? I used some mixed in with some cofetti in a small pocket in my Simple Stories album and it looks really cute.

But I'm wondering what adhesive people are using on the tiny wood shapes?

Thanks!

OP, nice job on the card you made. I haven't tried using sprays on wood yet. I love the colors of the Dylusion sprays.

I use Glossy Accents on all embellishments including wood veneers. Works amazing!

Another Glossy Accent user here. I use that stuff on everything. I use it in scrapping, have had the kids grab it to stick stuff down for school projects, my DH just used it for something.

I just looked up the Dylusions sprays; they've got some fun colors! I really like the lime, crushed grape, bubblegum pink.

Is this a new product or have they been around a while?

TeamSteve, thanks!

I used Glossy Accents too. I know they won't fall off this way. I tend to squirt a little under a lot of things that I adhere with glue dots too (buttons and flowers). That stuff is really sticky!

I am not sure how long these sprays have been around. I just happened to see them at HL. I didn't realize they were a lot different from Mr Huey's at the time but I like them!
