What ink does everyone think is best for clear stamps? I am looking to get a black ink that I can use just to stamp and for embossing.
Thanks! | |

For embossing you are generally want want a thick ink, like pigment, versamark or embossing. I haven't had a problem with any of these.
It's the dye inks that have given me issues with my clear stamps. My favorite inks come from the Memento line by Tsukineko. I've also had good results with Ranger's Archival line.
Chalk inks are really nice but I don't have a lot of them.

Versafine! Best black ink for clear stamps ever! I promise you will love it and you can get it at M's or HL.

Chalk inks are good but because of the way they soak into the paper I sometimes have a less than clear image if it is detailed.
I used versafine for the first time yesterday and it was amazing!!! It did stain my stamp, but that doesn't bother me.

@TexGirl -
Where is the best place to get the Memento inks and refills? I am having a hard time finding one place that carries all colors, and has fair prices for shipping.
Thanks! | |

The majority of my inks and acrylic stamps are from CTMH. I think they are great and have a good selection of colors.

I honestly didn't think a certain ink could really be THAT much beter than another ink once you reached a certain brand/price/reliance category. I've always purchased Colorbox inks and I absolutely love them (though I find that the pinwheel inks dry up sort of quickly).
THAT SAID.
I got a versafine black ink a few months ago and I will never, ever look back. I plan to buy all the colors they have (which is an unfortunately small collection).
