Happy Monday! It is another cold and clear day so I am bundled up. I had fun this weekend finishing my first crochet project. I made a scarf and figured out how to add some fringe. It looks cute. Also, I enjoyed working on my Anna griffin card kit. The cards are sooo feminine and full of Spring. I will be sharing pics soon.
Plus, I enjoying CHA. Have you all been joining the fun?
Nylene- I am happy to be on the taller branch of the family! Hope your dh is feeling better these days. Also how is the scout business going?
Cindy- You pl looks good. Is this your first time?
Angie- I can totally relate to that sharing the computer business. Good you had that ipad. I hope we can become a two computer family at some point.
Leslie- Yes, I have being in the CHA chats. I still gotta see all the videos of the new stuff. I do love seeing it all.
Maribeth- Were you able to participate in the CHA stuff? It was been fun chatting and seeing some of the new stuff. I want to look at the challenges again. Not sure if I will do any of those but just like to see them
Val- Are you moved? How are you???
Jen- Great to see you!
Waving hi to Leslie, Anne, Linda, Amy, Diana, Debi, Pam, Janna and all you peas! |

Jen, long time no see...and it's so nice to see your smiling face. Hope you can drop by often.
Debi, I'm sorry your RA is flaring up. It's 5 degrees here today, so I know you wouldn't want to be here. I hope your doctor can find something to give you some relief. Stay warm and let those boys do things for you.
Kelly, I'd love to see a photo of your scarf with the fringe. You are becoming Little Miss Creative lately. So glad you are feeling well enough to do that. Love seeing your pages.
This is just a quick check in to let you know I'm still here. We are still working on the Tues. scout event and the Thurs scout event, and then we plan to take a short rest!?!
Can't believe we made it to 3 pages! Wow, what a chatty bunch. So nice to see everyone chatting and posting. Hope you all have a chance to do a challenge or 2 for CHA. I think we have til Sat. night to finish. I plan to do some cards for card club, and make them fit one of the challenges if I have time.
Later 'gators! |

Survived Monday!
I hope to scrap tomorrow night....wish me luck!
Let me update life briefly.
We had a wonderful holiday season! The kids had a great Christmas.
DH finally pased his kidney stone last week, that was a month of pain for him.
My grandfather's health is failing quickly. So my heart Is a little heavy and have been trying to keep myself occupied. In addition to emphezemia and heart failure, he now has kidney failure. I am planning to go see him Sunday, for probably the last time. If you could spare a prayer for his comfort, I would appreciate it!
The icing on the cake for me the past few days was running into a couple of ladies I have scrapped with three or four times and having them act like they didn't know me. Then when they are an aisle away, I hear them start to talk about my lack of scrapping talent. That crushed me! I am doing my best to move on and not worry about their opinions. It just stings to thing that my "art" is being attacked.
Ok....sorry! Now that i've been a total downer.... I am going to look on the bright side of things.
I hope you all have a great week! |

Wow Jenn you have a had a month of woes!!!! So sorry to hear about your grandfather. Hugs and prayers sent for all of you. Glad your DH's month of misery is over and hope he's feeling a lot better. Am very happy to hear you had a great Christmas!
Sorry those fellow scrappers have no civility! In a way you are lucky to find out what they are really like but I know you were crushed by their harsh words. We do not feel that way about your scrapping as you know! We are always glad to see what you create and can't wait to see what you do next. I do not know who made them judge & jury-especially when there are no rules in scrapping! So scrap away girl friend!!!!
I hope things start to turn around for you in this new year! (((HUGS)))
to you! |

Good morning Pokey Peas!
Kelly - I was able to do one, having problems with the others as I am having trouble fitting them in to my style of scapping. Hoping my photos are in today so I can finish up those layouts I did on New Years Day. Couldn't get to the mailbox yesterday, snow, and I don't drive in snow. Either way I will be scrapping tonight so I will look at challenges again and see what photos I have on hand and see what happens.
Everyone - have a wonderful day.

Hope everyone is doing well and staying fresh and creative in this cold January month!
Nylene-wow you are a lot colder then we are. So far we are in the twenties. I am sure it is coming our way though.
Maribeth-Can't wait to see what you scrap tonight! I know you will be having fun!
Kelly-definitely post a pic of your scarf so we can see it!
Waving a big HI to everyone! Need to get off of here and get some things done so I can scrap later! Here's the link to my page

Hey all! Just got off the winter social chat. I always enjoy it. The last one is tonight. It is always a little sad when it all ends. Yes, I am going craft crazy over here. Yesterday I watched a youtube video and learned to make a crochet flower. Oh, how fun! So I made a bunch and will be sharing them. ALso, I will be sharing some of the AG cards. They are so easy and fun to make. I really like that I don't have to figure the cards out. They give you everything but the adhesive and a guide with pics of the various ways to make them. They are so pretty I haven't even added any K.Simone Designss magic!
Jen- I am sending you a big ole hug! How terrible for those ladies to be like that but Cindy said it best. I agree with everything Cindy said. Hang in there and we miss seeing you around.
Linda- Girl, you have been on a card "roll". Isn't it fun? Go girl!
Maribeth- Glad you are having fun with these cha challenges but that snow does sound icky. I would stay home too. Stay warm!
Cindy- How are your Browns doing? I don't usually get into the weekly football games but I did enjoy 3 or the 4 games last weekend. Wow, they were exciting. I wonder how is going to the Superbowl? Seems like the Patriots vs ????? Since I am a westcoaster, I am pulling for the 49ers.
Nylene- Boy, you have been busy but I am glad it is with fun stuff. Keep it going! |

I can't believe this is the Pokey Peas thread - there are so many comments and projects posted! Just finished leaving praise for everyone.
Nylene - I laughed when I saw your comment about Kelly's height. I'm 5'2" too. It says so on my driver's license so it must be true! I've always said I was 5'1 3/4" so I just rounded up. A couple years ago when dh and I were at the dr's office, he insisted on measuring me and said I was 5'1" spot on. I don't think so.
Cindy - I just loved your Christmas layout and your dolphin page. AMAZING!!
Debi - Sorry to hear your RA is acting up. I have a dr's follow-up appt on Thursday myself. I have been feeling tired so I took today off. I worked 57 hrs last week. Nuts, I know. With all the work, surgery, and scrapping, something had to give.
Jen - so sorry to hear about your father. And to overhear those rude remarks from those ladies. How horrible. Ignore them and surround yourself with those that appreciate you and your work. Ditto what Cindy said. And I'll just add that I've never thought scrapping was a talent competition or about who does what better. I've always thought it was a creative and personal expression of our art. Do what you love and scrap on!
Linda - great job getting so many cards done! I especially love the one with the torn edge. I'll need to remember to use that technique.
Angie - sorry to hear you have to share the computer. Don't they know it's CHA social time at 2peas? I don't have an ipad but I hate going on to 2peas on my Kindle Fire. It's sluggish (although I have gateway issues when I'm on my computer too) and I refuse to use it on my iphone. The screen is too small!
Kelly - I would love to see your crochet scarf too! I don't know how to crochet. Would love to learn but don't have the time to add another craft.
Maribeth - how do you like Persnickety Prints? I've been hearing a lot about them. I don't have any of my iphone photos printed yet.
Amy - wow, you have been busy and so creative! I think I'm the only true Pokey around here.
Val - Hope you're getting settled in to your new home. We've been in our home for almost 10 years and I just found some boxes we never unpacked. Guess I didn't need those books or sweaters.
Leslie - glad to hear you're enjoying your mattress. What did you get? We have a Tempurpedic. Dh and I love it. It's the one thing we always miss when we're away from home.
Ok, I'm sure I missed some of the Pokey Peas. My apologies. My original post was longer and had more folks but it's tough re-typing it all. Hope you'll forgive me.

Sassiescrapper - I have been happy with Persnickty Prints. There are very fast usually just a couple days. I use to use Scrapbookphotos.com before he went out of business at the beginning of 2012. I like them just as well.
Well, my photos came in and I am ready to scrap and watch Tennis. Yay, what a great evening. And I took another look at the CHA challenges and I do think I can participate in a few more.

Woohoo!!!! We are well into our third page and everyone is creating quite a bit! We may have to change our name to the Partially Pokey Peas!
Jen-Those girls need to take their noses out of the air! Your scrapping style is your own and you are recording your memories-that is what is important! Next time you see those girls you should tell them you have a whole crew of cyberbuddies who LOVE your style! As Dr. Suess says, "Be who you are. Those who matter don't mind and those who mind don't matter!"
Nylene-Good luck with your scouting events!
Val-You who? All moved in?
Anne-I love your Magic Mike layout! I have to guiltily admit that I went to that movie, too! I never have crushes on movie stars because I have a wonderful cutie of my own, but Channing Tatum is a different story!!!! I fell in love with him in Dear John!
sassiescrapper-I love Persnickety Prints, too! They have excellent customer service. I had personalized 12x12 albums printed and I messed up on the second one and didn't check slow upload (for larger files). One of the owners called me personally and said they had printed the album, but it wasn't crystal clear. As we talked, we figured out that it was indeed my mistake, but they reprinted it at no charge and I had it 3 days later!!! I do pretty much all my printing with them now.
Waving hi to everyone else! Here's my crop of layouts so far this week:

I don't know why but posting projects takes me a while.
Here's one: a lovely time
It's actually a companion page to one I made last year and the event is from 2011. I would say I'm pokey but that may imply I'm caught up to everything before 2011, which I'm not.
I'll have to post the other one later. I feel like working on another challenge.

Hello ladies! Hope you are all doing well today. I watched Shimelle's video and a few CHA ones. I want to try to see some of these classes more often. Great resources here and fun too.
Maribeth- I like tennis too. I don't see it much but when I do it is cool. Glad you are scrapping away, too. I am wanting to jump in the scrapping pool again. So the wheels are turning!
Anne- The hexagon lo is so fabulous. You have been busy and having fun, too.
Debi- Hope you feel better! Hang in there! We are patience to see your work when you are able!
Cindy- You are really getting artsy with your layouts. Wow! They llok so amazing!

I have been busy! I finally got over being ill and feel much better. Work has been really busy and I am currently on a much deserved vacation! I am off for 8 days and going to St. Louis this weekend for a crop with friends.
Cindy, I have been to SG lately! I always try to attend the super saver scrapbooking and one sketch session a month. There are a few people that always go and it is fun to catch up with them too. They have lots of new stuff out and I need to go back again!
Nylene, I hope you and your husband are feeling better! We are seeing flu cases in the hospital now. We have to be careful when they are sending up new patients because the ER will often not know that the admitting doctor has ordered for a flu swab. The hospital has been so full that it can cause problems if we have no private rooms. I am ready for Spring!!
Val, I didn't order a PL kit. I am just planning to make my cards as I go. I have yet to put any of my ideas to paper! I am hoping to work on that this weekend at my crop. I have lots of files saved for my Cameo and PL printables saved that I need to use. I do love Simple Stories and have bought some of their papers thinking of PL! I have also been using PInterest as inspiration also.
Anne, I had the intention to do PL last year and never got started. I need to get in a better grove of taking pictures! I am not going to give up this year and plan to get it completed! I will hopefully have time to go through my class on SC being on vacation.
DianaRita, I look forward to seeing you PL pages! I have printed out Marcy Penner PL planning pages and I need to start documenting on them to help.
I really need to get to bed. I have been catching up on Amazing Race tonight. I am wanting to wake up early and workout. I hope everyone is doing good!

Hello everyone!
I've been working on a two page layout for too long. I got half way through and hated it and redid it and now it's kind of ok but.... Losing the mojo mid project is the worst!
This week, I went into organization mode--BIG TIME . I have some big closets that hold most of our belongings. They were stuffed to the point that things fell out every time I opened the doors. It took nearly two days but now...you wouldn't believe the transformation. I wish I had taken a "before" photo. Everything is in labeled boxes and nothing falling out! There is even a little space to spare.
Now I'm playing catch up on emails and bills and those scrapbook pages that I left unfinished. But it was worth it.
Debi-Sorry to hear about the RA. Sometimes I wrap myself in a blanket and lay down too--but that's just cause I'm lazy! I hope the pain subsides soon so you can get back to the things you love.
Jen-Those scrapper ladies make me so mad! My kindergartener knows better than to treat people that way. Scrappers should know better. Hang in there and keep posting.
Sorry, I was going to attempt to respond to everyone. But I'm worn out. I love you all!
Goodnight!

Angie, your closets sound like mine...maybe it's hereditary!! Congrats on getting things organized and labeled. (Tori would be proud of you!) I know how you feel about a layout you work on too long. I finished one of Sam that I don't really like, but will probably not tear it apart now. Grrr..
Jen, I am just mad at your ?friends? who said such rude things about your scrapping! I love your work. Don't they know that we don't all do things the same way...and that's a good thing. How rude!! Come here and we'll tell you what we LIKE about your layouts. I'm so sorry about your grandfather. Prayers for both of you and some hugs too.
Kelly, your crocheting looks great! I know you will enjoy that scarf even if it's not as cold there as it is here. Your flowers look so professional. Can't wait to see you put some on a card or page.
Maribeth, how's the scrapping coming with the photos you ordered?
Debi, you have really been doing some good scrapping. I'm so sorry you are struggling with health issues right now. Keep wrapped up warm. Those big boys can make their own lunch (and dinner too, if necessary) and can certainly do dishes for you. Hope your Dr. appt went well.
Jana, I'm glad you are feeling better. We are well here and that's a good thing. It was 13 degrees this morning when DH ran an errand. Yesterday in the middle of a sunny day, it was 19. That's just too cold. No wonder everyone is sick.
Val, is the move completed? Where did you end up having your scraproom?
Drop by when you get a moment.
Linda, what's new in your neck of the woods? Is it super cold there, too.
How's Wanda? Tell her hello from me.
Leslie, I guess you are back in the swing of school again. Stop by when you can. We need your humor.
Cindy, I'm amazed at the fun things you are learning in your digi classes.
You have taken some wonderful photos of your Maggie. What kind of camera do you have?
Barb, your layouts are wonderful. You have such cute children.
Anne, it's great to see you scrapping. I love that beekeeping layout. My dh's family was in the honey business, so that really caught my eye...and besides, the layout is gorgeous. It needs to be published!
Our Eagle Recognition went well last night. We had record attendance and everyone seemed to have a good time. I'm glad it's over and that we are no longer on the committee for it for next year!! I'm ready for a break.
Waving to all those I missed!
If you are still reading this L-O-N-G post, I have done some layouts between working on Scout stuff.

Not for any challenge and I don't really like this. The apple paper has lots of blue in it, but it's glittery and didn't even show up.
I have finished some cards and one more page, but haven't scanned them.
Have a great weekend! I hope you all get at least one layout done for CHA.

Hi everyone! boy everyone has been so busy and sound so tired! I am glad the weekend is here and you gals get some rest! I know you poor mom's still have to keep moving but I can hope you get a little extra rest while dad is home to help. I have had the grands overnight and all day today. They have played checkers, the wii and had plenty to eat! LOL They keep me busy! I did get a page scrapped though!
Nylene- I have point & shoot camera-it's a Fuji Finepix 1500. It has a 10 mega pixels with a 12x zoom. I like it alot I usually have it set on P_whatever that is, so I can change the white balance. Bob liked mine so well he bought one only with more pixels and zoom.
Deb-sure hope you get to feeling better soon.
Barb-I do not know how you get any scrapping done with your wonderful large family. Of course I was from one and the older kids usually help with the younger ones. You do a great job though! Loving your pages.
Jana-good to see you and glad to know you are feeling better! Wish I could go to SG with you! I think they know what they are doing cuz most LSS are closing and they are flourishing!
Well I forget what else I was going to say so I will close for now. Here's the link to a page I did today while referring the grands!
Gotta Love You!

Sounds like everyone has had a busy week! Thank you for your kind words and support! I love you gals!
So glad it's Friday. I lost a dear co-worker and friend on Tuesday. Her funeral was today. She will be missed dearly!
I am going to visit my grandparents on Sunday.
What is everyone up to this weekend? I have to work tomorrow, a visit to be made, some housekeeping and hoping to scrap some.
Hugs and have a great weekend! |

It is a lovely day here! Wish I could send this sunny Cali weather to you all. It is going to be warm for some reason but I'll take it. I hope to work on some Valentine's cards and a few more layouts this weekend. Yes, the lo bug has bitten me and I want to make more! Also, I have made some cards with my AG card kit and will be sharing those soon. Soooo pretty! Glad the dh has Monday off so we hope to have a nice weekend.
Angie- Getting things organized always feels good. I need to do some of that around here, too. Too much stuff and not enough room. Looks like we are both in the scrapbook groove. But I understand it takes me a while to get a page done too.
Nylene- Thanks for the cheers on my crocheting. I don't know when I will be able to wear my scarf it but it is nice to have just in case. Yippy, you made it through the scout event. I know it must turned out great and the committee will miss you.
Debi- You have been busy with your layouts. Go girl!
Cindy- Glad your grandmother duty was fun! Those kids are so lucky! Who are you taking you digi classes through. You are so talented at it.
Jen- I hope life brings you some sunshine after all these cloudy, difficult days. Hang in there.
Waving hi to everyone else. Take care all! |

Hi Nylene - thanks for asking - it is going slower than I had hoped, but I guess I should focus on my successes and not dwell on the fact that I didn't get to get as much done as I had wanted. I got 10 pages complete, an I was hoping to post them this weekend but I am all out of good day light in my room for today (I had a Scentsy party I had to give), and tomorrow hubby and I are going to scope out some nearby campgrounds (2-3 hours away) hoping to find some good locations for the comping camping season. If I don't get photos taken of the layouts this weekend I'll have to wait until next weekend as I work from sun up to sun down and therefore I am out of light once again .
But I am getting so much inspiration for future pages from all of the posts here on Two Peas, I am sure enjoying this.

That Anna Griffin card kit has been so much fun. I have made several of the cards so far and hope to make them all. I have made them just like the guide and maybe I will free style with the leftovers. Nice not having to creating and just enjoy someone elses creativity. Plus, they are so lovely I haven't even had to add my "K Simone Designs" touch to them. Here are some of the ones I have done. Floral Cards
Aren't they pretty? I really like her style. So ultra feminine. |

Boy, we haven't been very Pokey lately! Everyone is busy creating lovely work. I have enjoyed seeing it all. Hope your Sunday is going well. I am watching football and online. Didn't get enough sleep but hope I get my motor going today. I was working on a layout and can't figure out what or how to pull it together. So I will let it sit and see what ideas pop up soon.
Jessie- Oh, I hope you try again.
Cindy- Hey, are you watching football today? I am pulling for the 49rs just because of the quaterback. I like to see the young fella do well. But really don't have any steak in any of these teams. Just wanna see some good games.
Debi- You are really rolling with the challenges. Great job!
Padni- Good to see you! You have such a beautiful style on your layouts. So feminine and soft. |

I am home from my crop and I had a great time! I do believe I earned my title of Pokey Pea! I did complete a mini album Friday night without pictures. Saturday, I got 4 LO's done. Today I attempted to start a couple of LO's and was getting frustrated. Then it was time to pack up! I just wasn't as organized for this crop as I had hoped to be. I need to work on getting pictures with kits for Scrap-a-palooza on March 2!
Angie, I was getting in organization mode before I left for my crop. I made a visit to the Container Store in St. Louis before going home. It made me want to buy stuff to organize! I hope that my mojo is there to continue this week.
Cindy, the gals at SG are all nice and have good customer service. I am glad they continue to do well! I love you PL pages! I have yet to get one week done but I am not giving up! I had brought my Cameo to my crop so I could cut PL cards. I couldn't get it to connect to my computer or another girls computer with the software! I get home and now it won't power on. It is only a year old! I am calling customer service tomorrow.
Kelly, I hope you have a Happy Anniversary!
I am hanging out at my fave coffee shop and then heading home to get in my PJ's! I didn't sleep very good at the hotel and my roommate didn't help in the situation. I am in need of some sleep! |

Hello girls! I think we might make FOUR pages this month! Woohoo! Cindy is gonna be so proud of us all!
Nylene-I'm glad the scouting event went well. I hope you two get some much needed rest now.
Debi-How did your doctor's appt. go? I hope you are feeling better. Thanks for the link to the kit in support of the baby. I will definitely buy that!
Angie-I went through my whole house purging and organizing in the past couple of weeks. I ended up having my husband build three different shelving units. I think he is glad the phase seems to have passed!
I have been scrapping up a storm with all the CHA challenges here and the Scrap Orchard daily challenges! I have always been going back to OLD pics that I missed when I was so much slower. Lovin diggin out the old pics and reading in the kids' journals to see exactly what happened. I'm only gonna link you girls to a few of them--don't want to overload you!

Ok, first off since you asked, my doctor's appointment didn't go as well as I hoped. I did get the paperwork in for my meds to be authorized but with the holiday on Monday, I may not hear until late this week and if authorized won't get them til early next week. Another long wait while hurting...
I found out I am B12 deficient. Quite low, so I need to start taking supplements for that. Dr wanted me to do injections but at $94/shot and 11 shots the first month, I can't wrangle that kind of money out of pocket so we'll be doing the slower, less expensive route of pills.
However while I'm waiting for meds, a friend sent me a heated throw and it has been wonderful. I sit with it on me all day and night and it's allowed me to relax more, get more and better sleep. In fact enough, that I was able to scrap 8 pages today. Not bad for a "tin man".
I am definitely tired now though. So I'm going to post the last LOs none of which were for any challenge. Never did get the 10th challenge done. Oh well.
EVERYDAY AS A TEEN
AQUAFEST PARADE
BUSY BUSY PUPPY
RAINY DAY PICNIC
