This thread is moving quickly today. Must be because it is Friday

I got my flu shot. There's been so much media attention on the health emergency here that I had to call 5 pharmacies to find one that still had the shots.

DianaRita - sorry to hear about all your daughter's school issues! My mom is in education, so I hear about problems like that alll the time.

Debi - looking forward to seeing your LOs! I have an unfinished one from earlier this week that I need to finish and upload.

Bluna - Well said re: your thanks to the ladies who are working so hard to raise their kids! ITA.

MaryJo - love your OLW page! I have a couple mists but have barely touched them, so this page is inspiring.

Okay, I've got to get some work done (I'm in grad school)! I feel like I've had such an unproductive day because I've been jumping from task to task, trying to deal with getting a flu shot, etc.

Thanks so much, Debi and KBPea
I guess it is a 2ps glitch. Oh well.

Blunt, I always say parenting has been one of the toughest jobs for me ever. Trying to be consistent, stick to your guns and letting them learn from consequences is exhausting! But it is a must!!

Evening! Hurray for the weekend!!!!

Got off early and spent a wonderful hour in Hobby Lobby. Had two gift certificates to use too. Have decided to change my clear stamp storage to a 3 ring binder style. I bought a 12x12 album and some page dividers that you would normally just put in 4x6 photos in and putting them in their sorting with category. Seems to be working so far. Hoping to get more organized so I can actually use the stuff I have. Also bought an 8-1/2x11 album to make a scrapbook for my friend Lori's new adopted baby. That should prompt me to scrap. Of course, first I have to find my desk in the mess that is in there.

Flu is bad here. Austin (8 year old nephew) was diagnosed today. He got the flu shot too. Has a different strand. He's in isolation (at home) for a week.

Flu and three viruses making rounds in my area. No wonder everyone is sick, it's 66 degrees right now and should be 70 tomorrow. Back to 30's on Monday. Expecting storms tomorrow. We're staying home just in case.

Diana, sorry Natalie's had such a rough time. Glad she likes her new school and hurray for less expensive too.

Barb, you preach it gal!!!!

Morning all. CHA Winter Social starts today. New challenges and a new board set up for all things CHA. Just in case you need something else to keep you on the computer all day instead of doing anything else.

morning girls -

I have a bunch of pages opened to praise, and I'm leaving them up 'til I get home from work.

I didn't work at J's last night. I'm sure they weren't happy, but my head was exploding. It started Thursday, and even though I took my medicine for it, I just couldn't get it to stop. So I slept a lot, and just hung out, and watched a movie on TV I hadn't seen before. Feeling much better this morning.

Michelle - I find all books predictable...if that makes sense. I usually can figure them out as I go, but I try not to. I didn't find the book atrocious in its writing per se...but the depraved society it lends itself to makes me sad. I remember seeing a movie a long time ago that was somewhat similar, and it was just all so sad. But it's a love story fundamentally, and that's what keeps me reading it. I hope Carmen left me the second book to start, LOL.

Diana - hugs, girl. Education is so hit or miss it seems. One year we focus on the lower kids and they do great, make a lot of progress, but the higher end kids don't make much progress. So then we turn the tables and focus on the higher end kids (and not by giving them more hw, but by challenging them) and then the lower end kids fall behind. There really is no happy medium. It is really, really hard. I, myself, focus on the lower end kids because that's my job, but there are some of the higher end kids who ask for my help on occasion when soemthing has them stumped, and I gladly help them as much as possible. And because they've taken the years and moved them back so that what once was 7th grade math is now 6th grade math, etc. Their minds are not necessarily mature enough sometimes to take in the concepts. A lot of learning is maturity. Unfortunately we have a lot of parents who pamper their kids and do not make them do their work, or anything else for that matter. But anyway, good luck.

Well, I've got to get running....

have a great day.

Good morning, it's a full pack Saturday for me.
Natalie's piano, then Monica's ortho and then off to buy new uniforms for Natalie and a regular backpack because she has a rolling one and they don't let them use those at the new school.

Toni..I know that the ones who learn slower should get a little more help, but at her school they have different levels and the principal could of just as easily place Natalie in a more advanced class, instead she added additional homework when so many kids are still struggling with the homework they have now. I'm glad we went to the new school and spoke with the principal Natalie is going into a more advance 2nd grade class where all the kids are advanced. Plus it's in my backyard. If she has to read more oh well life is not easy, she can start learning now.

Barbara...I so agree with you, last night my friend was attacking Natalie because I was moving her in the middle of the year. Here questions where, are you ok with this, you are not afraid to move?. I had a few drinks in me so I said to her.Shes fine, is not her choice is mine and her fathers, she will do great plus Change is good, even when is bad so enjoy it an move on. I don't think my kids are "entitled kids" they are bit spoil and sometimes Monica and Natalie have attitudes, but that's part of being a teen and a little girl who see her big sister with attitude however, when I say NO is a no they can cry beg what ever I don't care it is still a no. Monica for the first time went to what they call a "getty" a big party for you and me, I told her I will be at the door at midnight I'm not calling you to tell you I'm there be out. I get there a little before midnight and I see all the kids running out, the party is getting rated because some kids brought beer. Guess what she not going to anymore of these so call "Gettys". She did not even try to fight that one. Like I have said my home is a dictatorship, I'm the dictator and Stan is the enforcer. They are happy kids, they excel in school, they have friends who love me (they have the same rules) their friend mom and dad love me. I have yet to put any of them down I always praise and love them more than my life. But yes they have rights, the right to be loved, to have food on the table, to have a roof over their heads and sit for hours and have conversation with their parents. Dinner time is sacred we have dinner together every night. And talk about everything. They don't do drugs, the older boys even now come home by 1 and if they are not coming home by midnight I get a call saying just that. Monica talks to me about everything and even Daniel has surprised me in the last couple of month the things he has talked to me about. Tyler is an open book with me. So you know I'll stick to my guns and continue with my dictatorship. At night it's hug time for everyone.

wrote another book. LOL.

Got to go shower and get ready for my day. have a great day.

Good Morning Ladies!

Today has not started out the way I planned, sleeping in and enjoying belgium waffles. Woke up with Noah at 3:00 am with his flu. Of course everyone else got up as well. At least the kids took a nap for a bit. Lanie now has the same thing Noah has and it looks like Devon is right behind them. Devon has a basketball tournament 2 hrs away so the two of us are about to head out for that, and we won't be home until 8:00pm.

I will be checking the CHA thread in between games to stay excited for the new stuff!!

Hope you all enjoy your weekend!!

Sherri - good luck with all the sick kiddos. Will Devon be okay playing even though he is ill? Hope he doesn't make it worse.

Diana - There is nothing like someone attacking our kids to bring out the momma tiger! And I agree with you. The rules are the rules. I'm your parent, not your friend and you don't have to like every decision I make. BUT I love you unconditionally and will be there for you no matter what.

Barbara & Mary Jo - Parenting really is the hardest job in the world. I once asked my mom how you know if you are a good parent, are teaching your kids everything they need to know and equiping then for real life, how to make the right decisions, etc. She said you can only do your best BUT the fact that you worry about being a good parent means you probably are. Those that don't worry don't care. It makes sense.

I've been over on the CHA board and it's fun, but Theresa, I'm also so disappointed about the badges not showing. That was one of my favourite things about summer CHA. Oh well, at least 2peas is making an event of CHA and not letting it just go by the wayside. I'm going to try to do at least a few of the challenges.

Happy Saturday Chatty Peas!

Life here is going swell, but busy. My sister got here from Seattle on Thursday. She's staying with us until Tuesday and then will be back next weekend from Mom & Dad's. She hadn't been home in 3 years, so we are really happy to see her.

I'm still trying to get used to the new job and am trying to get around to all 15 offices to meet all of the staff. It involves a LOT of travelling around the state, so I am packed out for the rest of the month. I'm also still trying to lend some help to my friends at my former employer...they are struggling. They really should have started working on replacing me when I told them I was leaving instead of waiting over a month, they are burying the poor girls who are trying to do my old job.

I have one LO started for CHA...I'm hoping to squeeze time in some time this week to get some more done.

I hope you are all well! It's also AWESOME to see so many new faces here chatting along with us.

Take care ladies!

Diana - you're on a roll. Hope you are actually sleeping now! It's 9am here, which is about 1 am in 2peas world, so it's about time. I haven't actually started a challenge yet. Just chatting. I can't seem to make up my mind which one to start with.

It was 70 degrees yesterday but it's dropping fast. Temp dropped 20 degrees while I was in church this morning from 59 to 39. Raining like crazy and the streets are flooded. Sure hope it stops soon or it'll turn to ice/snow.

Was going to go scrap but still haven't cleaned off my desk so I think I'll head for a nap instead. Need energy to clean that desk, LOL.

Good Morning Ladies!

Well, the kids are all still sick . They have gathered into my bedroom and are lying on the bed watching tv. Noah seems to be doing better today, so hopefully Lanie and Devon will only have a few more days!

Michelle Sorry to hear about your assistant. Sending hugs to you! I was actually suprised by Devon's play yesterday. He wanted to go and play and didn't say anything to his coach, because he wanted to play. Of course he was coughing the whole way home, but I was haping to see his dedication and determination to play and help his team get 2nd place!

Off to praise and to chat some more (with another window open, that sure does help)!

Praisemark

Rick went out and bought the front loaders and had them ready for me when I got home from jury duty on Thursday! I have to say so far I love them!! I can't believe how much faster I can get everything done! I will remember to keep the washer door ajar when I am not using it.

Speaking of jury duty, still not done. I have to go back tomorrow and hoping the lawyers will be done with closing arguements rather quickly and that it won't take to long to make our decision.

I printed off the challenge cheat sheet Monica made and hope to work on some of those today.

Hope you all enjoy the rest of your weekend!!

***Praise Mark***

I lost my post
I'd go back or comment the things I remember, but girls, it is so cold, my hands are freezing. We are under a freeze warning, our high for today is 49, and that is COLD for us! LOL Danny and Seth get very bad headaches when we turn the heater on, so we bought a couple of space heaters, but for me is not enough, but I prefer being a little cold, than they having headaches.

Loving all the layouts you have been posting. I need to wait a few day to post mine, since some of them are for challenges in other places and I haven't posted them yet.

Stay warm, and I'll see you soon.

This cold is all the news channels are talking about, they say it has been more than 30 years since AZ experience this kind of cold, specially here in the valley of Phoenix.

Hi there Pea Friends!

I hope you all had a really nice day today. I'm just hanging out with my sister tonight, we went to dinner wtih our Grandpa and Aunt, she hadn't seen him in about 10 years, so it was really good.

Sherri - I have front loaders and I love them. As long as you remember to leave the washer door open, they are great. My favorite part is that my husband likes to use them, so he does a lot of the laundry for me.

Teri - That is a cool photo! You all are getting some really cold weather. It cold & rainy here today, we have flooding going on, but at least it did melt all of the snow. I hope that things warm up for you all soon.

Hope you all find time to do some of the CHA challenges. I think I'm going to go look at some of the new scrappy goodies from the show.

It's unseasonably cold here too...about 22 in a.m., never made it pass 35 all weekend. My mom's yard looked like it snowed, the frost was so white and thick and never went away. The only one who liked it was her dog who absolutely loves the cold weather. He was all spunky and playful.

I'm in the throes of my RA. I've been in so much pain that it brings tears to my eyes to move. I spent the weekend at Mom's. But this mornign I couldn't get off the couch (it's low). I tried for over an hour before asking for help. I hope I can turn this around soon as this is no way to live.

I'm home now, back to the world of internet. Not that I felt like doing anything but sleep this weekend. I barely even ate. I have yet to check out the CHA challenges but if they are giving us the week to do them (I'm assuming) I'll try to do some. I didn't chat or even do my Saturday speedscrap. Oh well, I can do that another time.

staying in one position is very uncomfortable but having to keep moving isn't a picnic either. I'm headed upstairs, if I can climb them. to take a hot hot shower to take the edge off. Glad to see everyone is doing well. Where is Monica's Cha cheat sheet?

take care.

CHA Challenge Cheat Sheet

Tere that is a great photo! It has been 28 in the mornings with a high of 40. That is pretty cold for us.

Didn't get any scrapping done today, got sucked into watching the football games and then started watching basketball. Trying to get the kids in the shower, which is hard enough when they are not sick, so this may not go as planned. At least Noah took one, so only Lanie and Devon to go.

Theresa - I use the three ring binders for my stamps too, I am really happy with it so far. At least, it's the best system I've tried. I hope everyone in your household is feeling better soon.

DianaRita - I am tired just reading about your Saturday! I don't know how my parents did it all when I was growing up.

I had a few drinks in me so I said to her.

I know your story isn't meant to be funny, but this made me smile. You sound like my mom and dad - they used to tell my sister and I that our house was a "benevolent dictatorship"

Sherri - sorry to hear there are so many sick folks in your neck of the woods too!

Tere - that is a cool photo! (I guess literally, ha ha).

Debi - hope you feel better soon too! Monica's CHA cheat sheet is linked on the CHA chat forum.

I finished 3 challenge LOs for CHA, but I am feeling too lazy to link them now so I'll do that later

Good evening Ladies!

Debi Sending you warm thoughts. This cold weather is crazy. We had a high of 36 today and we are normally in the 50's. It's so cold I've just sat under a blanket the last 2 days.

Teri That's a really cool photo. I should have ventured out of my cocoon of blankets this weekend, there were probably some really neat frozen water features here too. You guys were warmer than us though here in Vegas too.

Tina Enjoy your time with your sister.

Sherri I think you'll like your front loaders. Put a clothes pin on the door latch to keep it from accidentally being shut.

Well I guess I should go back to planning dinner for this week so I can go grocery shopping tomorrow. Good night ladies!

Good morning, All!
Very, very cold here, too! Was so mild until Saturday night when a front blew through with a little wintery mix.
Now it's in the 20's!

Tere - that is wild that it is so cold there!
Theresa - here in Missouri the weather is exactly the same! Always changing!!
Debi - I am so sorry your RA is causing you that much pain I hope it eases up on you soon!

It was fun checking in on all of the CHA social events this weekend. I did get one layout done, but not even related to the challenges here All praised up to here

Hi ladies,
Today was Natalie's first day at the new school and she is so happy. Just the re-enforcement I need, because I sure felt lousy about changing her in the middle of the school year.

Debi...I sure hope your RA is doing better today. Put that heater on woman, it will make you feel so much better.

Tera..That's cold, we need a little of the cold here, it's been hot everyday. I hope we get a least a little cool weather sometime soon.

I'm going to Praise and head to bed I'm to tired.
Have a great evening.

Diana, I wish I could send you a little of our 2 degree weather! It's so cold that the snow crunches under your feet. Bitter!

Debi, turn on the heat and get into your electric blanket. Let those big boys wait on you hand and foot. That will do them more good than you! They need to learn to appreciate what you do for them. And years from now they will thank you...I promise!

Just a quick run-by. I'm sick of doing scout stuff and thought I'd catch up for a minute.

Praised to here!
See you all later.

Something must be wrong?! No posts since YESTERDAY?!

I know I haven't been around much, but did I miss some sort of announcement? Did you all ditch me?!

We are experiencing the crazy cold, like so many of you. But today it finally got up to 50! Hooray! It feels down right balmy, too.

I am almost (*almost) finished with these wedding invites. Should have them in the mail tomorrow. So glad.

On Friday we leave for Anaheim. Our big run is finally here. On Sunday Stuart and I (DH, for the new folks) are running the Tinker Bell Half Marathon. I am so excited to go to Disneyland, too.

DIANA, so glad to hear that Nat's change is going well. I know transition is hard, but she's young and she can handle it. (I cracked up reading what you said to your friend...who ever thought raising children meant letting them vote on things?!)

MICHELLE, sorry about your assistant. Very sad.

TERE, I have a friend who moved to your Valley of the Sun a few years back...from Connecticut. This week it is colder in Phoenix than in New Haven! She's pretty bummed. That picture was cool, though.

THERESA, how are you? It's a pretty rare day that there is no post from you??? What's going on with that new baby...the one being adopted? Do they have the baby now? Is it all settled??? I can't find the post where you said what their status is. And you know I have a soft spot for this particular topic.!!

OK, I'm off to make some soup for dinner.

hello!
Sorry I haven't been around much. Lots of stuff I've been having to deal with, but trying to keep a positive attitude. I think I will be so much happier when spring finally gets here!

Sure sounds like everyone is battling the cold weather. I'm usually hot, and the last few days I just can't seem to warm up! I keep cranking up the heat. Brrr!

Debi- I hope your RA improves I'm with everyone else - turn up your heat and get under the electric blanket!

Barbara- I missed it, who were you making wedding invites for? Do we get to see a pic? Have fun on your trip to Anaheim & good luck with the run!

Sherri- Curious to hear about your jury duty! I've never done jury duty before... I used to get out of it because I was in college and couldn't miss class.

Diana- I'm sorry to hear about all the trouble you've had to go through with Natalie's school stuff. It really is frustrating... exactly why I decided NOT to go into teaching after all. I just don't think I could have handled the bureaucracy. I'm glad that Natalie is adjusting to her new school already!

Mary Jo- uh oh, you guys got stuck with the snow, didn't you? I thought it was funny when I saw on the news that the snow line just barely missed KC. We got lucky!

Theresa- I just reorganized all of my clear stamps into these dvd-type of cases. I really like them. I can organize them by category, fit a whole bunch in one case, and they stay stuck really well. Plus, I like that they take up less space on my shelf. I got them for a super deal online, too, which is always nice!

Tina- Did you get a chance to look at the new goodies from CHA? What's catching your eye?

Tere- Wow! This weather is crazy. I have to say, though, that is a really cool photo and you should scrap it!

Michelle- I'm so sorry that your friend's health is declining so fast Tumors are bad news. I was really lucky that mine was benign and that the surgery and radiation took care of it. I hear other people's stories about tumors and feel so lucky... somebody always has it worse off than you. Anyway, I am going to be keeping your friend in my prayers

Tammy- How's it going? I seriously miss you lately! I hope that wrist heals up quick so you can get back to scrappin'!

Toni- How is your headache? Did it ever go away? Hope everything is going okay!

hello to whoever I might have missed!

Hi Ladies,

Finally got internet back for my laptop. Every other computer, tablet and phone was hooked up through the router but mine.

Jury Duty was an eye opening experience. The 1st day they ended up splitting us up into groups, for two different jury trials. The group I was in had to fill out a 6 page questionaire about our opinions related to the particular case. The next day they excused some people and the rest of us, 70 in all went to the court house to be questioned by the two attorney's. They asked us why we answered the way we did and if we could be fair in determining the outcome of the trial. At this point people were still able to give reasons on why they could not serve on the jury. Some of the reasons/excuses would amaze you. We ended up going through 68 out of the 70 before the 13 jurors were selected. I am sure you are wondering what the case was. It was considered a civil case and not a criminal case. We had to determine if the defendant was to be considered a Sexually Violent Predator and the he needed to be in a locked facility in order to not harm anyone in the community. They gave us the 4 pieces of criteria in order to determine whether or not this was true. So for the next 3 days we listened to 3 different pychologists talk about the defendent and what is means to be an SVP. Of course we heard the opening and closing arguements from each of the lawyers. We decided that he met all 4 criteria and had to remain in a locked facility.

The things I was suprised with, since this was the first time being called in and getting picked for a jury is how slow it goes. There are lots of breaks and you never start on time. I understand the lawyers have other cases they are working on and must attend to those as well, I guess I didn't think they would be doing that at the same time as this case. You have to pay close attention to detail because sometimes a witness will say something and then get cross examined and you learn more of the details and get the bigger picture. I was okay until this weekend when I knew that on Monday we had to make a decision. You have the defendants life in your hands and you have to make the right decision for all involved, it's a much bigger thing than I imagined. All in all, I am glad I had the experience and would actually like to do it again.

Off to make homemade pizza with the kids and hopefully an early bedtime, as they are going to school no matter what! (if they feel ok to argue and not listen then they are ready to go back to school )

hey girls -

things are ok here...except for the rain. omgosh, it has rained for like four days straight...we even got tomorrow off from school because of flooding (of course I'm ok with that, and if I can get off from J's,
I will be even happier. ) I like to be home reading a book when it's raining. I'm hoping to get something done tomorrow then. Other than reading, I haven't done much of anything but work, LOL. The other night at J's they let us out really early (we were so under budget that day because of the rain). I'm going to call tomorrow, and if it's the same thing, then I'll stay home. Not worth it to drive 30 minutes both ways for three hours.

Tina - glad things are going well, even if it is busy. Sorry there is so much traveling though. Enjoy your visit with your sister.

Sherri - Actually, the lawyers and the judge are probably going through a lot of behind-the-scenes stuff on your case. There is always a lot of law that has to be considered, exhibits that they argue over, even whether or not a witness can testify. Just lots of stuff goes on behind the actual jury room procedures. Yes, sometimes other cases come up, but usually when lawyers are in trial, that is their primary concern at the time. Sometimes judges are called for emergency hearings on other cases, too. But, yeah, the jury themselves are pretty much left in the dark from all that stuff. Sounds like you all made a true and correct verdict. Good for you all. It does weigh heavily on you when you are deciding someone else's life. I felt exactly the same way when I served. Kudos to you.

Monica B - Hugs, girl. Hope everything is going ok. My headache is ok. I don't get migraines all that often, but when I do, they're blinding and painful.

Tammy- how is the wrist doing?

Theresa - Are you all getting the rain too?

Barb - how fun that you're off to race at Disney! That sounds like a really fun thing to do.

Michelle - I'm so sorry to hear about your assistant. Hugs to you, girl.

Tere - wow, that picture is amazing! Hard to believe it's that cold there, huh? I think they said it's the coldest its been since like 1930something - and here we had 70 degree weather on Sunday! Go figure. And now it's back to 38...yep, like Theresa said, no wonder there is so much flu/stomach viruses going around.

Diana - How is our little Natalie doing at the school? I bet she's loving it. The first thing Kevin and Meagan enjoyed when we moved here and they went to public school was that they could wear whatever they wanted, LOL. Especially Meagan I don't think there would have been any way I could have gotten her in a uniform again...but, oh, the expense of kids' clothing Looks like you're knocking out the pages, girl! Can't wait to see what you've done with the challenges.

Nylene - sorry it's soooo cold there, hon.

Well, I'm off to watch NCIS and fold some laundry. I sure wish I could get the scrappy itch back again.

See you all later.

Nice to be missed! I couldn't log on this morning, kept getting errors. Figured the site crashed with all the CHA chatter over the weekend.

Getting sleet right now, may end up with an icy ride to work in the morning.

Barb, have fun at Disney and good luck at the race. As an orthopaedic nurse I cringe at the thought of running marathons but have several friends that love them. Jeremy (my DS) actually mentioned something today that he and his wife have talked about starting to train for a 5K run.

Sherri, how interesting about jury duty. I've never been called to go. Randy's sister is the assistant county prosecutor so I figure that has something to do with it. Not looking a gift horse in the mouth, I'd go stir crazy cooped up in a jury room. Way to antsy for that and since I know everyone in the county that won't help either.

Sending prayers for all those hurting. Off to watch NCIS.

Another quick hello. The boys leave for their dad's in less than 1/2 hour. I dread having to get up and go retrieve them...1 hr drive and I have to stop for gas. Self-serve sucks when you can't move. If I had enough gas to pick up the boys first, I'd let them do it, but unfortunately I don't. All I need to do is get stranded on the road feeling like I do, in the freezing cold. No thank you.

I've slept most of the day. I don't have an electric blanket but I've been wrapped in fleece blankets to keep warm. the icy cold still manages to come through the windows. They have blinds but perhaps adding curtains would be a good future task.

I had a nice surprise today though. My old roommate from Japan, emailed me in response to me emailing her. I'm so glad to be reconnected. It's been nearly 5 years since we talked, with one brief email after the big tsunami hit Japan to make sure she was ok. She's been married 2 years now...she sent a couple photos from her wedding. She looks so pretty and happy. I'm thrilled to be back in contact with her.

I spent the last hour up but it drains my energy something fierce so I'm back in bed for a bit, til I have to go out in that cold. Did manage to get one piece of business resolved though so that was good.

Maybe I'll scrap to pass some time. Can't say any of the CHA challenges grab me but we'll see what I might be able to manage.

Here's to warmer days, and more comfortable times.

Wow, I didn't realize it had been so long since I've been here to check in. looks like a have a bit of reading and praising to to.... LOVE it

I have made some progress since I last checked in. My scrap room is 80% cleaned up. I can scrap on my desk and reach most of my supplies but still need some work. I have a LO half finished too.

Sherri Ithink being on a jury COULD be really intresting. I would just hope not to get a major scandle type case. Don't know that I could handle the stress that would go along with it. Congrats to Devon and his team for taking 2nd place!

Dannielle Welcome to the group. Jump on in and make yourself at home, lol

Diana good for you and Stan going with your gut and moving Natalie to a new school. Sometime teachers can be pushy about one thing then too passive about another. It sounds to me like her original teacher needs a Teachers aid to help the one student she is spending so much time with. I think that would benifit the whole class. I am glad Natalie had such a great start at her new school.

I am caught up and found Lost Girl on netflex so I am going to go watch the first couple seasons again

Stay warm everyone.

Tere, I know you were cold on the weekend but that picture of the fountain is beautful. I hope things have warmed up for you.

Toni..Thanks Natalie Loves the new school. There is a lot more homework but she goes straight to her room does it and does not complain much. Most of the Public schools here have uniforms, thanks to a few high school girls who wanted to go to school in mini skirts and the parent who allowed it. So each school had a vote and now we have uniforms I love a democracy, I don't know what I would do if I had to buy clothes for Monica and Natalie, and they are both so picky I'm so glad I have never had to deal with that.

Lori..The biggest reason I have not played with paper is a while is because I can't find my desk. But after I finish with Daniel's room, need to convert it into a room for Tyler and Daniel I will work on this room. And I will be donating a lot of this stuff that I will never us.
and play with paper again. Although I need to do a travel journal for my sister who is going to Europe for 3 weeks in April.

Tammy..Glad you are feeling better, If I lived closed your can be certain I would be helping you. Continue prayers for a speedy recovery.

Debi..Hope your RA is better today. Glad you were able to communicate with your old room mate.

Sherri..I have had to go to Jury duty 6 times, got chosen twice as a juror it was a DUI and some stupid federal case where the county bought palm trees on a hand shake and the county did not want to pay for them. The process is the same here for civil and if I remember correctly other than the fact that you have to call everyday the federal is the same, but so much slower and longer.

Barb..Have fun with Mickey.

K need to put this child to sleep, before I loose it.

Here is one more for CHA.

Hey you all! So glad to be seeing familiar faces and new faces here!

I've been scrapping lots lately. I got one of those photo storage kit doowhoppies where you put the photos in little boxes, and then the little boxes fit into a bigger box that has handles that lock.

It's been AMAZING to use, because I don't have to shuffle through photos, I can just grab box labeled with an event or a person and scrap away.

I've been posting my layouts on my blog and will do one or two here for our challenges, but my New Years intention was to blog more frequently ( than 2x a year).

Good morning Chatty Scrappers!

I'm going to have to send some of out heat your way. It has been hovering around 100F for the last few days. I can feel the droplets running down my back and it's only 9am!

The kids started the new school year today. Just in time as I was ready to commit murder after a 7 week holiday. Kyle was looking forward to it so much but the reality of a new school hit when he saw all these kids he doesn't know. When I left he was sitting on a chair in the corner, just watching it all. He just wanted to know that I'd be back to fetch him. I know from experience not to linger, but it is hard leaving them when they aren't 100% happy.

Ruan is with the same teacher Sean was with in Grade 3, so that's nice. She is super and we got along well. I'm sure he is going to be happy. Don't know who Sean is with as they were in their classes already by the time I got to go check.

Diana - I'm glad Natalie is happy. And I'm with you on the uniforms! It would cost a fortune to keep them in trendy yet decent clothes that they are willing to wear if it were civvies every day.

Theresa, Barbara - I also got the error message on Sunday evening and yesterday the forums just wouldn't load. Not CHA or GS. I suppose it's server overload again...

Sherri - Jury duty sounds interseting though not nearly as fast-paced as the TV shows we see Maybe that's why you were surprised. We create expectaions based on the very warped and edited process we see on TV and in movies. It must have been a difficult case to hear. SVP are scary.

I've done a few challenges but need to upload them.

Right now I need to go have a shower. I walked the kids to school, so left it till now as I knew I'd be sticky again when I got back.

So, what are you offering for some heat, lol? I offer 20F to the highest bidder

MICHELLE I'll take that 20 degrees or even 30. If we could just swap locales we'd both be happily in the upper 6os or lower 70's.

Glad the boys are back in school. So much easier when there is a routine.

We don't have uniforms in our school. SOmetimes I wish we did, although having boys isn't too bad. But girls? A whole different story.

Just as you are getting up, I'm heading off to bed. Kids get out 2 hrs early tomorrow for a professional day and they have Monday off to boot due to Martin Luther King Jr Day. SO they will be a round a bit.

Hope you get some scrapping time in.

As much as I hate the cold, I'm hoping that the cold will kill out the flu and other viruses that are taking over the area. We got a nice coating of ice last night. Our local schools are on a one hour delay, Randy said the roads to McDonalds were fine when he went in at 3 a.m. The two other counties that I have to travel through to get to work have both closed their schools totally. Road reports that I'm seeing so far are just to be careful and watch the overpasses. Thinking the schools took the ice as a way to close to let the flu get over as well. LOTS out Monday and Tuesday. Still am going to go in a little late to let the traffic dry the roads up a bit more. Haven't decided if I'll take the RAV4 or the Prius yet though. RAV4 has 4 wheel drive but it doesn't make any difference on ice.

Diana, glad Natalie had a good start in the school.

Michelle, hope both of your boys do too!

Off to hit the shower and try to warm up. It's actually not as cold this morning, it's 35 instead of 21 like it was yesterday.

Good morning!
Well, I had my son home sick four days last week. Congestion, cough, achy, etc...and now it's his little sister's turn.
Although she doesn't seem quite as bad. Just a cough, runny nose and some congestion. I did expect her to be sick a bit more with it being her Kindergarten year and first time going all day.
But she has been sick A LOT!

And it is so cold here! In the 20's maybe hitting 30 during the day.

Monica - we actually didn't get much snow, but the freezing drizzle was a bit of a pain! Thankfully we didn't have to go anywhere

Sherri - I had jury duty for the first time on my 40th birthday. Not the best way to pass that particular milestone. But I actually started to get a little excited about seeing how the process worked when I was finally called. And then the next day they dismissed us because the defendant decided he didn't want a trial by jury.

Debi - that is fun about your roommate from Japan contacting you! One of the things I love about Facebook is how it helped me reconnect with a friend from high school who now lives up by Vancouver!

Michelle - you are so lucky to have warm weather right now! I am and never have been a cold weather person! Winter is my least favorite season.
Although Theresa makes a good point about needing the cold to hopefully kill the viruses. We had temps in the 50's and low 60's last week and then one day later it was in the 20's. We are all over the place here in the Midwest!

I have a layout to share today. It is the CHA #8 challenge

Good morning, chatty scrappers. I see everyone is able to get 'on' again.

TAMMY - "just" your praise marker? I think the fact that you can keep up with praise is close to super-human.

THERESA -- Good for Jeremy & DW for taking on a goal! Running does have it's draw backs (those you worry about as an ortho nurse ), but 5ks are very manageable and I think most people's knees can more than handle that kind of training/distance. I don't feel that same way about a marathon, which is why I am running a HALF marathon. I think it would take too much of my time (away from my family) and put too much stress on my (formerly very out of shape) body. So no 26.2 for me...not this year.

I sure hope you were safe today, driving on all that ice!!!

Ironically, having trained very conservatively and having not injured myself in anyway, last night I started getting shooting pains originating behind my right knee and shooting up AND down my right leg while I was SITTING IN A CHAIR watching television. Needless to say it was very upsetting. I went to bed and was fine this morning. Sat back down in that same chair about 1/2 an hour ago, and the pain started again. Clearly I won't be sitting in that chair for a while!! Now I am paying excruciatingly close attention to my body to make sure I have no issues before this run. I can't even begin to describe how disappointed I will be if I can't run on Sunday.

TINA -- So glad you are enjoying your new job. I'm sure the traveling is going to be hard (for your whole family). Hopefully it won't always be that way and you can settle down after this month.

SHERRI -- You reminded me that I got a jury summons before Christmas! I was going to try to be excused (stay at home mom, no alternative child care) but now I think I want to go...I may not get picked, but I was reminded (by your description) that I have a civic duty. So, thanks for serving. I imagine it's a challenging thing...the responsibility of making that decision. But it is important...so I am gonna try to find some child care!

MONICA -- I know things are gonna get happier for you. I just hope you're not staying away because of the *small*, shallow, jealous, stalker-type people who read our thread, don't comment, then gossip other places.

TONI -- it's been nice having you around a little more. I do hope you get the scrapping itch again...maybe that's what all this cold weather and storming is about...Maybe God wants us all to SCRAP MORE!!!

DEBI -- how was the drive last night?

LORI - HI THERE! Nice to see you. Good for you getting rolling again!!

DIANA -- I so know what you mean about the scrap room mess. My scrap room is still buried from Christmas and before. Now I've added a layer of wedding invite debris. I feel like I'll never get it back to the way I like it. We are half way through January and I have not even started a CHATTY challenge

KATY -- hello to you too! Nice to see you. "Doowhoppies" are great aren't they?! New tools that motivate...love that!!

MICHELLE -- I would take that 20 degrees, but Debi needs it more. so g'head and send it to her. Hope Kyle's day got better. I'm sure he was fine, but I hope he could smile about it by the end of the day. It's a 'middle' school? New school because of age, yes? Which means he must be approaching or wallowing in puberty now? (oh lucky YOU!! )

MARY JO -- sorry you have another sick little one.

Ok, I have to get Charlotte down for a nap. I hope everyone stays as warm as possible (except you, MICHELLE ) and healthy, too!

I will definitely post pics of the invites I'm making. I reeeeeally like them so I'll show off a little when I finally get them in the mail.
