Gosh you guys such a wonderful welcome back!!! I have gotten things moved into the house but will take a bit to get settled. It feels wierd and I'm truly scared but will sure take those prayers gals. It will take me awhile to remember all the new gals and to even get scrappin but please don't give up on me. Lots of changes going on and I dont want to sink back into my same old habits either.

I have joined ww and have lost around 12 lbs and several inches trying to get more fit and happy with myself. God has been good to me and has given me so much strength I never new I had. Anyway I love and miss you gals! Will try to get going by the first of the month at least with a bit of chatting and praising.
My love to all!!! Wanda

morning girls -

just on the run....

but:
Wanda -
sooooo happy you're back

Barb -
that is really sooooo super sweet of you doing all that for O.

Tina -
I miss you being around more or maybe it just feels that way.

Ellen -
hey girl...can't believe after all this time you've joined in our group
good to have you.

Tammy -
Thank goodness Kobe is ok...couldn't even imagine the expense that would have been. I had a Sheltie who ate an entire bag of Hershey Kisses one time (and we didn't know until our backyard filled up with foiled wrappers ). I blamed my mom and Larry for getting rid of my then chocolate obsession How is Gary doing, btw? Glad to hear the GS troop event went well even if quite a few of them were sick.
I bet Becca had a great time though.

Nylene -
A concert??? How fun is that, and going on the train. Yea, we should all spend some time with our better halfs like that. Sounds delightful.
Your new little grandbaby is just adorable BTW, not much of MS on clearance at our J's, especially the punches. Only three were marked clearance, and two of them were already gone. The third one was the alphabet one, and not something I would want. I still need to look over the stamps, if there are any good ones left.

Debi -
Thanks for the e-mail. I'll send the sketches out tomorrow. I'm still mulling a couple of them over...decisions, decision, decisions... Yea
for your meds coming!

Diana -
Fifty Shades, hmmmmm - I look at it as a love story, and it is...with a beautiul ending. The last book is my favorite. You can skim over the porno parts, which is what I wound up doing a lot of times.

Anyway, I spent longer on here than needed to....

'til tomorrow.

Good morning. Kobe was barking at the door to go out at 5:15, so an early morning for me, since I normally am up at 5:45. I need to go check to see if he threw up any last night, but I'm optimistic since he didn't yesterday since the vet. Today is Rebecca's neurology appt. She hasn't had a headache since her last one in early December, so who knows what they'll say. And Joey will be home, since he was sick yesterday- already my day to do bookwork is off a bit, but hopefully can make it happen after the appointment.

Debi- hooray for the medication. hope it does it's thing quickly after you've started taking it.

Wanda- good to see you!!!! prayers and prayers go out to you. If you talk to Linda, tell her I miss her on the boards too. You both need to not be strangers.

Barbara- how's the toe doing??

Cathy- hope your trip to VA went well. I see they got some snow, hopefully you're doing OK.

Monica- hooray for good news!!! hopefully it'll spread this way!

Theresa- glad Jeremy made it safely home. scary, scary to be out in the traffic so long.

Welcome Ellen!

OK< I'm sure I skipped some. Racing against time. Just remembered my alarm clock is still on, so need to run upstairs before it goes off!!

Have a super Monday! praisemarker

Happy Monday, chatty girls!

I'm struggling to keep my eyes open as CJ (dd2) was awake numerous times during the night...she didnt need anything. She just lay in her crib shouting "Maaaaaaamma! Maaaaaamma!" Which is the same thing she was shouting from the high chair after she had finished dinner (and we had not). I swear this better be a growth spurt and not a long, drawn-out phase! Poor Stuart left an hour late for work because he couldn't get out of bed this morning!!

TAMMY - how gratifying to have that big badge push behind you! And all the girls so happy with it. Yay! Sorry about Kobe's trauma. Hopefully he's fine now?

WANDA -- what a beautiful photo of Cole & family! Wishing you strength, patience, love, and comfort. XOXOX

DIANA -- you made me with your comments about 50 Shades. I am with you...I couldn't get into the story...took up too much scrap time and I could guess how the whole thing ended. (I asked someone to be sure and when they confirmed the ending, I stopped reading!) But TONI, spicy reading can be beneficial You've been scrapping again, maybe that's not a coincidence!

Welcome, ELLEN and waving hello to EVERYONE.

I started a page last night! It's one of Toni's sketch challenges and it felt soooooo good to be in the scrap room doing things with fun papers and embellishments.

I'm gonna send a bunch of pics to costco for printing so I can scrap this week! I'm thinking this is gonna be a good week...

Good morning ladies!! Busy weekend around here. Devon's basketball team got 1st place! Noah's team lost their game, but he had fun and scored 3 times. Devon had baseball practice yesterday morning and then went to a friends house, while the rest of stayed home and watched Twilight!

Rick, has an exciting day today. He has spent the last few months building an energy efficient refrigeration unit in our garage for a cold storage food distributor. Today is the day the crane came and took it out of the garage and they are bringing it down to the customer and installing it this weekend. Here are pictures I took of the process this morning

Refrig Unit

Barbara It would be great to meet up in Berkeley. We don't have any lss in town any more, so I need to get down there eventually. I am running out of embellishments!!

Tammy Glad Kobe is doing better. Your GS event sounds like a lot of fun!

Wanda Such a beautiful picture of your new grandson & his parents! Will continue to keep you in my prayers!

Debi A few more days for your meds!! Try to take it easy.

Theresa Glad to hear Jeremy made it home safe. Those dogs are beautiful. We are not pet owners & when Rick's sister brings her two puppies there is hair all over!

Nylene Your concert sounds fantastic! I would love to see them both. I am about 45 minutes north from Lafayette.

Tina Are you an AGD? I am one from San Francisco State. Such great memories and friendships!

Hope everyone else is having a great day!

I am taking it easy. Barely move from the couch (usually to hobble to the bathroom or to fix kids food) but I'm bored silly, yet haven't the energy or attention span to even scrap. Even the laptop is too heavy to have sit on my lap right now so i have to do it in very short dosages.

It's raining today and though it's 40 degrees or so, it's the kind of cold that gets in your bones, especially arthritic bones. My right shoulder is just aching today no matter what I do.

The days are long because I'm not doing anything but dosing and staring at an empty wall. I'm so looking forward to becoming a part of the living again.

BARBARA sorry your little one kept you up at night. Right now I wish I could cry out MaaaaMaa! in the middle of the night for some comfort. Hope you all get a better sleep tonight.

Anyone having any good things for dinner? I need some new interesting crock pot recipes. I got a crock pot for Christmas to replace the old one I had from my grandma which finally stopped working. But I don't have many good recipes.

WANDA your dd, her dh and that little grandson Cole are the sweetest. Thanks for sharing a photo. Hoping all goes smoothly with your reentry into the home and KUDOS to you for the weight loss. That's got to make you feel good.

I'm caught up on prasie so come on girls, lay it on me. Get those LOs posted.

I think I've formed an unhealthy attachment to my new heated throw blanket. I don't want to get out from underneath it. LOL

That's all from me right now. Wednesday is coming.

No time to ready..just wanted to post this AMAZING recipe I just did.
ready for the week.

Total Time: 50 minutes
Serves: 6

Ingredients
2 cups gluten-free rolled oats or steel cut oats (I use steel cut)
1/4 cup brown sugar
1 teaspoon baking powder
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 cup walnut pieces
1 cup strawberries (other berries work also)
2 cups vanilla almond milk
1 large egg
3 tablespoons butter, melted
1 ripe banana, peeled, 1/2-inch slices

Instructions

Preheat oven to 375°F and generously spray the inside of a 10-1/2 by 7 inch baking dish with cooking spray and place on a baking sheet.
In a large bowl, mix together the oats, sugar, baking powder, cinnamon, salt, half the walnuts, and half the strawberries (Save the other half of strawberries and walnuts for the top of the oatmeal).
In another large bowl, whisk together the milk, egg, and butter

Add the oat mixture to prepared baking dish. Arrange the remaining strawberries, walnuts on top. Add the banana slices to the top then pour the milk mixture over everything. Gently shake the baking dish to help the milk mixture go throughout the oats.
Bake 35 to 40 minutes or until the top is nicely golden brown and the milk mixture has set.

I took it from pinterest and made a few changes.

Quiet up here today. It's a cold, Monday night and I am cuddled up on the sofa with Julia. It's Stuart's night to stay over the hill (closer to work) and us girls are watching a little TV (or chatting on 2Ps ) and then it's story time, then bed time.

DEBI -- as I type Julia & I are cuddled under an electric throw blanket. I got mine at Costco a few years back. On nights like this, it's a savior. So much better than blasting the furnace to heat the whole house. I'm glad you have one to keep you warm. Hopefully the meds will make it less critical, but it's good you have that to help in the mean time. Only two more days, right?!

SHERRI -- maybe one day next month...I'll Pea Mail you. I can't do any more scrapbook shopping this month, but once February gets here I should be able to rationalize a trip to SBT. Have you shopped there? It's the reason I have this hobby!

DIANA -- thanks for the recipe! I'm surprised you didn't make it a challenge..."scrap the following recipe" or "adventures making oatmeal". I think I'll try it! It's a perfect winter meal (breakfast or dinner!) so it would be perfect for us this week. Did I mention it's coooooold here?

OK, I'm off to read stories then do some scrapping so Debi has something to comment on. G'night everyone!

Tammy, I hope Becca's appt. goes well and that Joey gets to feeling better. How is Kobe doing? Seems like when it rains, it pours at your home. Sending prayers for everyone. Any nibbles on a job yet? Hope you are healing well. It's so easy to overdo. Glad the GS event went well.

Debi, hope the meds come and you get the relief you need.

Barbara, how are the toes?

Wanda, that photo of Tiff and DH and baby Cole is so precious. I'm so glad things are going well for you. Take it easy, take it slowly, but I know things will work out for you. Prayers coming your way. Glad you are working on getting healthy too. DH and I have been dieting since May. It's slow, but it's coming off.

I'm still behind on praise, but hope to catch up tomorrow after Cubs. Seems like Cub day rolls around so quickly!

Here is the page I finished today.

Make A Wish It doesn't fit any challenge, but the photo was calling to me from my scrap table!

Debi- I wouldn't leave the warm blanket either. I think I should look into one for myself. I spend the day cuddled with the cat under a regular blanket on the couch as it is. The cat and I probably would never leave the couch if I had a heated blanket. .

Diana - That recipe looks delish. Too bad someone ate the last of the bananas today or I would throw it in the crockpot tonight for breakfast tomorrow.

Wanda - So happy to see you. That is a beautiful picture of Tiffany, her hubby and Cole.

Tammy - Glad your GS day went well and your wrist is healing. Are your girls Daisies or Brownies? I'm trying to figure out the Brownie Journeys so we can try to finish at least one this year.

Here's a layout I did last night. Splishin' and Splashin'

I'm off to bed. My allergies are really buggin' and I just want to take a steamy shower and go to sleep. Good night all.

XOXO

Off to get the kids ready for school and get myself ready for work, hope you all have a fantastic day!!

Hello Girls!

Phew, miss a few days and it takes HOURS to catch up on the chatter!

Hi Ellen! Welcome!

WANDA!!!! (jumping up and down in excitement) Welcome back! It is so good to see your smiling face again. I happy for you and your husband. Relationships are not easy but I'm so glad you are working on yours. Your grandson is just adorable.

Debi - Oh, I'm so happy for you too. That's great that all the admin paid off and your meds are on their way. Not long now.

Tammy - Glad Kobe is okay too. See, lots of good news going round for a change... Now it's Gary's turn.

Monica - good luck for the interview. And for whatever else is up. Hope that virus leaves you alone soon. Your system seems very run-down right now. The anaesthetic with the teeth didn't help that either. Strenght to you.

Theresa - if that is what the dogs looked like after being stuck in the car, I can only imagine what Jeremy felt like. Poor things. They look clapped. Glad the trip back was better.

Sean has had a hard time adjusting to the new grade and I have spent the last few days trying to come up with creative ways of helping him be more organised, educating teachers and dealing with the difficult mom of the boy sitting next to Sean. Dyspraxia is such an unknown condition here that it takes a few weeks every year before I have managed to explain to everyone what is going on. And this year he has different teachers for dif subjects so there are more people involved. Kids with special needs need us parents to be so much more involved but I feel we also need to do it in a respectful manner that doesn't antagonise the teachers. Not easy.

My internet was down again over the weekend. The kids maxed out our Gigs and our service provider's afterhours helpline was off AND the internet top-up function wasn't working either. Needless to say DH is looking around for someone else.

Hi to everyone else and I'll (hopefully) be back for more chatting tomorrow.

MICHELLE sorry to hear you are still fighting internet problems. Frustrating. As far as informing teachers for "special need" I hear you. My boys each have 6 teachers and this year they have all classes together. Teachers want to lump them into one person yet they are so completely different with their education needs despite being intelligent. Noah needs extra help with comprehension and summarization of information. Owen, with his Azbergers, needs help with socialization, taking instruction, organization, reminding to turn assignments in once completed, and then add that he is colored blind only adds icing to the cake. Every year I go through trying to get the teachers to understand their particular needs to succeed. Some years it's 12 different teachers. NO wonder I'm known around the school.LOL

I believe every child has "unique" needs in learning.

I'm in a tizzy trying to figure out what to do. My boys decided that instead of having a big party this year they wanted to invite only 2 friends over at a time for an all night gaming stint. They invited 2 for Thursday as there is no school on Friday and another 2 for Saturday giving them a days break between. But alas one of the boys coming on Thursday sent us a birthday invite for an all night party at his house on Saturday...(a bit confusing as his birthday was Dec 13th and his younger brother's is today the same as my boys) but here's the catch. I feel badly to not have the boys attend his party if he's coming to their overnight thing. Do I simply decline saying the boys have prior plans for that night, and buy a gift for their friend to give to him when he comes to our house or do I try to rearrange the 2 boys who are schedled for Saturday (not inbited to the other childn's birthday) for Friday and have my kids be up 2 nights in a row which seems a lot to me especially since they have a big concert fieldtrip on Monday. What would you do?

I'll check back to see if anyone has any opinion on this.

Debi

Hi,

It's noon and we've barely done anything today. I am fighting a brutal headache that is threatening to turn into a migraine. I am following a careful but diligent diet of Advil and Tylenol. It seems to be keeping things in check...not getting rid of pain, but not letting it get worse. Very frustrating as I want to be playing with pretty paper.

I did get two LOs done last night:

For Monica's Technique challenge: Dashing Through the Snow (this is a shameless lift-- mentioned in the description)

For Toni's sketch (first one, I think): Charlotte's First Trip

MICHELLE -- glad to see you! I wondered where you were. (At school, apparently ) I hope things get settled with Sean at school. I didn't realize he has dyspraxia. That is big hurdle for a little guy...keep up the good work/fight, mom!!

DEBI -- I would let the boys figure it out. They are old enough to make social decisions, especially as they are the ones who will experience any social consequences. I would not, however, make two nights in a row of all-night gaming an option. YOU would have endure the consequences of THAT! and I'm thinking that would not be pretty! Good luck. Sounds like you're in for this week!

THERESA -- I hope this does not offend you, but when you don't post for a while, it feels similar to when my mom does not return a phone call...I get vaguely worried and hope everything is OK.

OK, lunch time for the Easson girls...I hope everyone is having a lovely day.

Happy Tuesday, everyone!
Where does the time go?

Actually had a wonderfully relaxing weekend! Lots of good family time and projects taken care of.

Ellen - Welcome!

Debi - Glad you got some good news from the drug company!

Monica - Hope you are feeling better!

Nylene - I swear it wasn't me I have done that so many times though. Seen people I swore were someone else. And I am always so tempted to say something but it is never who I thought it was

Tammy - glad your wrist is better. So scary about your dog though! Glad he is going to be alright. My MIL's dog used to eat everything! I don't know how he lived as long as he did!!

Wanda - glad things are going well. You sound like you are in a good place.

Sherri - I couldn't see the Facebook photos, but how cool for Rick

Michelle - I know what you mean. Between 2p's issues, dr. appointments and trying to paint the kitchen and just maintain things I am a little behind. I have been praising as I go on page nine, but I think I need to get back to a few pages in between

And I agree with you about parents needing to be involved. We went the private school route for the kids, and I really have to be on top of things for my son. But luckily his teachers have all been helpful and cooperative so far!

Hope everyone is doing well!

and with the good (Kobe and Joey are both recovering nicely), there is bad- Gary's best friend, our best man at the wedding, passed away this morning. His health was quite bad for a 44 year old. heart attack while on dialysis (he went into a coma about 3 weeks ago and came out of it about 2 weeks ago). While I am glad he is no longer suffering, I'm so afraid this will be a catalyst for Gary †o sink further in depression. Please keep him in your prayers, as well as Flame's family.

Valerie- our girls are Daisies. I basically ditched the journey book which I think is written by a 15 year old crack addict and took on the main themes/goals and made it our own day. Found lots of fun ideas/games/songs/crafts from internet and brought them together on my own. From the sounds of our service unit meetings, most are doing the same thing.

Debi- I think no to 3 sleep overs. But I think the boys are old enough to get some input on it- do they want to go to his party? or readjust their sleepover plans? etc.

Barbara- hope your headache is gone.

Michelle- how is your assistant doing? I think of her often. Hugs.

Oh, TAMMY. That is so sad...I'm so sorry for all of you, but especially Gary. He's in my prayers, as are you. How's that hand today? Hang in there...stay strong.

Both girls are still napping and I am not gonna wake them because my head is pounding and I need to figure out dinner.

I'm a baaaad momma today.

Barb, thanks for missing me! I'm fine, just have a lot on my mind. Crazy weather keeping everyone feeling bad and we've had another local child be diagnosed with cancer. He's 12, diagnosed yesterday with Stage 4 bone cancer and they've found two spots on his lungs. A perfectly healthy child until he had some pain in his femur. Just sad.

Tammy, so sorry about Gary's friend. Will say extra prayers for Gary and the man's family and other friends.

Debi, happy birthday to the boys.

Waving hi to everyone. Off to watch TV.

Tammy, I'm so sorry about your friend. Seems like you have really had more than your share of troubles lately. How was the neuro appt? You and your family and Flame's family are in my prayers. Special prayers for Gary. What a difficult time.

Debi, I'm not much of an advocate for overnighters (except with cousins) but I agree that the boys should have some input. Two in one weekend sounds like a lot of "not sleeping". Good luck with your decisions...you know that's why moms get paid the big bucks!!

Barbara, I hope your headache goes away. Hope it has not developed into a long-lasting migraine. Hang in there.

Welcome Ellen! Sorry I forgot to welcome you with my last post. I feel like I know you well from other threads over many years. Glad to have you join us. Is your DH still acting?

Mary Jo, I knew it wasn't you, but I think you have a Utah twin. Glad you had a nice weekend getting things done. Will you come paint my house? My bedroom needs paint.

Michelle, I hope Sean does well this year. With so much information now available about learning difficulties, you always hope that the teachers can touch these students in a positive way. I think back of students I had 40+ years ago, and now better understand why they acted the way they did. Wish I had been wiser then and more info had been available.

Valerie, what are you allergic to? My allergies are usually better in the winter, but seem bad right now. Maybe I've developed an allergy to sawdust. It's clear through my house. DH has a workshop in the basement and spends all winter down there. Hope you get some relief!

Sherri, sounds like your DH has such an interesting job. I don't do Facebook so couldn't see the photos, but it sounds wonderful.

Theresa, where are you? So glad Jeremy and Granddogs made it safely. We have at least 9 inches of snow today. The freeways are a mess. It has snowed all day and is supposed to snow all night. Our walks have been shoveled 3 times today, and still I had snow tracked in by my Cubs.

Waving hi to everyone!

Wow!! As Michelle said, you miss a few days of Chatty Scrapers and it takes HOURS to catch up!

Wanda - that is such a beautiful pic of your grandbaby and family.

Tammy - glad that Kobe is OK. I'm so sorry about Gary's friend.

Barb - I hope your headache is better.

Ellen - Welcome! I'm new here too!

Debi - did you ever get my email? I'm glad that you will be able to get your meds, I just hope these few days of waiting haven't been TOO hard on you. Happy Birthday to the boys!

It seems that both Debi and Sherri have boys named Noah - glad I figured that out or I might have been forever confused!

Do you guys ever look at the statistics under your name? Some of them are IMPRESSIVE!! There have been well over half a MILLION Peas! Some of you have tens of thousands of posts! As I said - impressive!

Thanks for all the well-wishes about my trip to Virginia. We had a very nice weekend, we made it there JUST before the snow got really bad. Of course, I had to start the weekend off with a BANG - literally. The people we were visiting have 2 dogs and they had a dog gate up to keep the dogs from jumping all over us as we arrived. Being the dog lover that I am I wanted to greet the dogs, so I tried to step over the gate... and fell flat on my face, HARD. I'm a very big woman and I think my fall actually shook the house! I know it scared everyone there. Oh, it was awful - and painful. I didn't really injure myself, nothing is broken, but I did hurt my left wrist and it still hurts a bit. Both knees are bruised and for a couple of days I was pretty sore all over, but I'm feeling better. I sure don't bounce like I used to!

Anyway, after that where could the weekend go but UP? The woman of the house is a marvelous cook and she outdid herself. We ate and ate and ate - and then ate some more! I'm sure I gained at least 10 pounds - we all did!

We got home very late last night (early this morning is more like it) and it's so good to be home! I've been taking it easy today but tomorrow I have to get some things done.

I'm at a standstill with my pet scrapbook because I've decided I have to digitalize all my old photos before I cut them up for the project. Well, not ALL my old photos - that would take a lifetime - but the photos of my old pets that I want to use. Some of them have faded dreadfully and need to be fixed up. So until I get that done, I can't do any more work on my scrapbook. I'll try to get it done quickly because I am ITCHING to do some scrapping!

Debi mentioned that I might give you some weekly hints about organization (I am a professional organizer). I'll be glad to, if you are interested. I think many of you probably know as much as I do!

For tonight I'll just leave you with this, the Golden Rule of Organizing: If you don't have a place to put it - DON'T bring it home!

I'll elaborate on this later - for now, I need to feed the rats and get to bed!

MARYJO...I got the peamail from you but if you sent an actual email, I must have missed it. Likely went into spam. So please resend and add the words CHATTY SCRAPPERS in the title and I won't miss it again. Thanks. And hey, if you need painting practice I have several rooms that could use painting...

NYLENE that's a lot of snow. Glad I'm not trying to navigate that too.
You might be on to something witht he saw "dust"...I know I'm allergic to dust and when I worked in the piano refurbishing store, I was always dealing with my allergies due to the dust of them sanding and refinishing pianos.

TAMMY prayers being sent. SO sad to think someone so young passes away. Heck I was that age when I gave birth to the twins. {{{Hugs}} to your dh as he deals with this loss.

CATHY Ouch! I used to be a preschool director and teacher and I've had my share of tumbles trying to step over baby gates. I don't try that anymore. Glad no serious injuries...don't need any more CHatty Scrappers with metal in their wrists...already have 3. It's a trend I'd prefer to stop in its tracks. And by all means Organization tips are always good. I don't buy a lot of new stuff, but I have a ton of old stuff I need to get rid of.

ELLEN welcome and thanks for finally checking us out. It's about time girl.

Yes I have 2 boys...NOAH and OWEN or as the kids called them when they were small "NOEN" LOL

I decided to go with my gut feeling on the sleepovers...we'll stay with our original plan of having 2 kids over Thursday night and 2 over on Saturday with Friday and Sunday as rest days. We'll skip the party on Saturday and give the kid a birthday gift when he is at our house on Thursday. I just can't imagine getting anything done on the weekend if my boys are up 3 nights in a row and I worry that Owen would end up with a migraine...lack of sleep is one of his triggers. So this will be ok. I guess you can't do everything.

THERESA so sorry another child has been dx with cancer. Scary stuff.

BARBARA sounds like you need to take a nap with the girls ot beat that headache. You know if you don't take care of it it will take care o fyou.So glad I don't get migraines much anymore. As a kid and most of my adult life I had debiliatating migraines but for some reason the last few years I haven't. I'll take the reprieve.

I'm about ready to try to get some sleep. A little peeved at my ex (but what is new?) as he had the boys tonight for their birthday and given it was the last Tuesday of the month I usually pick them up around 10 instead of 8 because of a once a month obligation. On Sunday when he dropped off the boys he asked if he had them for their birthday (confirmed) and I reminded him that it was the last Tuesday of the month. Told him if he was doing something in town with them he could drop them off and he quite clearly said for me to plan on coming and picking them up at his house at 10. Ok fast forward to today...I'm still in pain, (and they are well aware of my health challenges as we had a long discussion about it on Sunday), it's raining and I'm coming some 50 miles away their house. I get to their house (adds an extra hour travel time to/from my house) only to find out that the boys aren't there. They sent them back with the grandparents to drop them off. Well that's not an issue per se, but the fact they didn't see any need to prearrange this with me or inform me that the grandparents were picking them up and dropping them off rather irked me. The "newest wife" said, "Oh I hope you were in the neighborhood..." grrr. My ex and his newest wife can be so insensitive at times. Oh well the boys got home and so did I, just an hour later than I needed to.

Tomorrow is Wednesday! My meds are coming.

morning girls -

I've got a bunch of pages opened in new tabs to praise later, and tomorrow before the new month begins.

Cathy - I'm glad you're back, but so sorry about your fall. I can't count the number of times I've fallen, and my right knee is proof of it, LOL. I've had surgery on my left wrist for carpal, and I'm sure some day the right one will need to be done too. I know what you mean about all the photos. I have to scan a lot of them before I use them, but it will be worse when it comes to the ons I have on discs because they're not organized per se. Sigh. Good Luck.

Tammy - So sorry to hear about Gary's friend. That is devastating. I really hope Gary doesn't go into a really bad state of depression. Larry is still in one, but not as bad as it was after Steven. But the "no job" thing keeps him in one. He is selling lots of our stuff on E-Bay though, LOL.

Nylene - not much news per se about my job...funny though, the math teacher and I were talking about it the other day and he said if I go, he's quitting and although he sounded quite serious I surely doubt he would, but he could get demanding and insist on having only average to higher classes. He admits he doesn't have a lot of compassion for it.
Unfortunately a lot of our 6th grade teachers don't, and I think it comes from one of our main (or he thinks he's "main" teachers, and he is strong enough and old enough to have great influence over our other teachers. That is the only grade where there is so much fricton over it and this is why I chalk it up to him. All the other teachers in the other grades are amazing when it comes to Sp.ed. I also was talking to our V.P. the other day when she saw me and I looked "stressed" and we were talking about some of my 6th graders who cannot read and write and how stressful it is for me, especially when they have three projects going on at the same time plus their homework, etc. Anyway she says she doesn't see how it could happen...but I'm not sure how in the know she would be about the sp.ed. department. So, I'm pretty sure it is going to happen, but may take a couple more years.

Michelle - YOU have to be your son's advocate because no one else will be...simple as that. The more aware you make them, the better off he will be. I'm sure Sean will do well as time goes on because I've found a lot of it is a maturing thing, too. Good luck, hon.

Well, I've got to get moving...

Have a great day all.

Oh, just FYI...MSW (My Sketch World) is having their annual Sketch-a-thon starting Feb. 1st. Usually it's ten LO sketches and 10 card sketches. I'm hoping I'll get to play more in Feb.

LOL I was suppose to post this here last night and it posted on a cha thread instead. ... I'll check back later to catch up some more.

Oh Tammy Sending prayers for Gary and for Flames family he was so young. Thinking of you. Hope your hand is doing better. Glad Kobe and Joey are doing better also.

Debi..I agree with Barb and Tammy I think they are old enough to make their own mind, but definitely I would not have 2 sleep overs in a row. Good luck. They will figure it out. HAPPY BIRTHDAY to your boys.

Wanda...Gorgeous photo of the new family. I can't wait to see you scrapping your beautiful grandson. I have missed you so much.

Michelle...Praying that Sean gets adjusted soon and that the teacher will learn to help him and do what is best for him.

I think I'm coming down with a cold, my throat is killing me and so is my right ear. Hopefully Natalie did not get me sick.

Tomorrow little Monica turns 16 I just don't know where the last 16 years have gone. Time sure does fly. Guess what she want for her sweet 16, a trip to the zoo with 6 of her best friends and a pizza party.

Heading for bed to play on pinterest and get sleepy quick. Have a great evening.

Wanda- Nice to "meet" you. Congrats on your weight loss! That's a great accomplishment. I've been trying to make some small changes in my life to be healthier this year too (my New Year's resolution is to eat 5 servings of fruits/vegetables every day, and so far I've done it!)

JBSMom- sorry to hear about your sick dog. What type of dog do you have? My bf and I want to get one, but we're looking at bigger breeds so we need to move to a more spacious apartment or a house first. I'm really sorry for the loss of your friend too

Barbara- Yay for getting some scrapping done! I cranked out a quick page last night too, and I'm going to get out of here soon so I can get ahead of my work load and free up some time to scrap this weekend.

Sherri - Yay for your son's team! That's great news.

Debi - hope you feel better!

Cathy - good luck with your photos. That sounds like a big undertaking. Almost all of my photos are digital, but I really need to back them all up on a few flash drives or something in case my computer crashes or the websites I have them uploaded to disappear.

Not much going on here, just school work and getting over cold. Looking forward to the weekend. Does anyone have fun plans for the Super Bowl? I'm trying to figure out what I'll be doing, if anything.

Good morning. Thanks for the prayers for Flame's family and Gary. Keep 'em coming. Yesterday was a really rough day. They are going to wait 3-4 weeks for the service so people can make arrangements to be there. We have frequent flyer miles, so Gary will be able to go. Kobe is doing much better (he is a beagle/sheperd mix). about 30 lbs.

I forgot to update you guys on Rebecca's neurology appt.- the MD really feels it's plain ol' migraines. She doesn't have them in a pattern (although he did give me a paper log for them) to call them cyclical vomiting syndrome. He discussed mixing tylenol into advil mixture and really stressed catching them early to prevent them getting so bad that she vomits.

Diana- happy birthday to Monica. Hard to believe she is 16!!

Debi- you have much more patience with your ex than I think I would. sad that they are just so rude. Hope the boys had a good birthday- I think 2 over nighters in one weekend is plenty. do you all have mid winter break over there? hope your meds arrive today.

KBPea- we are just hanging out at a friends for super bowl. nothing too exciting but it'll be fun.

Toni- thanks for the sweet thoughts. We've sold some possessions too- funny thing is I don't really miss them. We could stand to declutter. Hoping things turn around for the job.

Cathy- ouch!!! I hope nothing is broken- but just bruised up. sounds like it was great besides that rough start!

Nylene- I'm hoping that the trials turn into triumphs real soon. I seriously do not know how those without faith cope during rough times because that is about all that is saving me from complete meltdown. You keep your snow there- but hope the sun comes out to melt a bunch!

Theresa- praying for the boy wiht cancer and his family. how devestating.

OK, need to run. have a great day.

Debi - Happy Birthday to the boys! I would have made the same decision. 3 nights in a row is just too much and they already have plans for the Saturday. I'm sure the other kid will understand. Besides, He is seeing them tonight...

Yay for Wednesday, It's meds day! Finally! And it sounds as if the ex and wife are staying true to form

Barbara - Hope the migraine decided to leave. I don't get them often but when I do strong painkillers and sleep is the only solution. It is not bad parenting to look after yourself a bit too. If you aren't in top form you can't be there for them. I'm so glad to hear there is another mom who loves the kids taking a nap as much as I did I used to feel so guilty that I loved nap-time. Now, of course , they have outgrown naps BUT I can have one while they entertain themselves, so it has worked out, lol.

Mary Jo - Oooo, what colour are you painting your kitchen? I'm busy planning my kitchen re-do for mid-year but a paint choice is difficult as my kitchen/lounge/ dining room is all open-plan and double-volume, si it all needs to match. At the moment walls are white but I'd love to go a soft grey. Had to laugh at Sean's speech therapist this week - she was covered in paint - hair, skin, everywhere. They are busy building and also doing a lot themselves. Hope ypu aren't all 'decorated' too.

Tammy - Lol about the 15 year old crack addict comment... sounds as if you are doing the right thing by doing your own thing. So sorry for Gary and Flame's family. Amanda is stable but not improving, thanks for asking. She is just very depressed and her kids aren't being as patient as thay should be. Lots of tension there. She is also feeling useless as she can't work, but the doc's won't put her on anti-depressants as they are worried it will worsen the strokes. Depression is such a a horrible place to be. My heart goes out to everyone that suffers from it, having been there myself.

Nylene - I can imagine it was difficult as a teacher then. We also had kids with us in class that today I can see what was wrong but then they were just labelled 'stupid and difficult' and left to cope as best they could. Though I think teachers today get bombarded with so much information they struggle to keep up with everything.

Cathy - Glad you survived the fall okay. Um, yes, you will still find out us peas are very proud of our stats. And badges. Some of these gals have been around for a while so their post-count is scary. I've posted more than a 1000 in the last year since becoming more active at 2peas (and of course joining this bunch of chatters). It adds up quickly! Good luck with the photos. I had my laptop stolen with my PSE catalog of photos on last year, so I have all my photos nicely backed-up but all my organisation is gone. Slowly adding them back again, but it takes forever. Good luck!

Toni - Knew you of all people would understand. He is settling better this week but adjusting to change just takes him so much longer than other kids. Kyle, on the other hand, wouldn't let me walk him to class this morning! "You can go now, I know where it is." Aaa. Where is my baby?

Diana - Happy Birthday to Monica! That is so sweet she wants a party at the zoo. Cute. Hope she has fun.

KBPea - Well done on the 5 fruit/veg a day. I've tried but only manage 3. Keep up the good work.

Right, off to rope the boys in for homework. Why, o why can't boys seem to motivate themselves to do it?

Hello everyone! I am BEHIND! Lots of posts, lots of new people I have yet to remember the names, old friends Hello Wanda!, and lots of layouts to praise. Glad to see all this activity. We have been busy busy but only a little bit of scrapping being done. Several auctions to try and find new items for the store. Good antiques are still bringing good money and harder to find. I also finally got the new Kindle Fire I've been wanting for over a year so I have been playing with that too.

Well, just wanted to say hello. I'll be checking out what I've been missing.

Cathy, this made me laugh:

the Golden Rule of Organizing: If you don't have a place to put it - DON'T bring it home!
I know it is serious, but that would stop all my scrappy spending! You see, the problem with scrapping is that everything goes into my scraproom and just changes shape. Nothing ever leaves! Just more and more albums!
Sorry about your fall. Glad it was not worse and that you had a great trip.

Who was it that said she's eating 5 fruits and veggies a day. (didn't open another window, sorry!) That's what we have been doing with our diet since May. Dh has lost over 60 and I'm stuck at 43. It's a long process, but I'm loving the veggies.

Tammy, glad they have a DX for Becca. Did I tell you that Em can stop her migraines if she eats some dark chocolate. You can see an actual change in her demeanor within about 10-15 minutes. She keeps choc. chips on hand and in her purse and in her car.

Debi, hope those meds work so you can survive the weekend. You are very brave!

Melanie, wish I could go antiquing with you. It would be fun to see things through your eyes.

Michelle, I'm so sorry about your assistant. I don't know how people live with depression. A few days of it made me totally crazy! Hugs and prayers for her.

Toni, I hope you can keep your job or that another better comes along. I'm sorry Larry is still job hunting. This is such a terrible time in our economy. Hugs and prayers always for you and your family.

I know I'm forgetting things. It's that old age kicking in often!! I'll come back later to chat.

Checking in, had a F2 tornado touch down at my end of the county early this morning (not at my house) but thank God it didn't hurt anyone. Totally destroyed a trailer that the family had recently moved out of (still had a lot of their stuff in it but not them!), tore the roof off one of the churches and damaged several homes. One road was totally impassable but over all the county survived. The winds were 120 mph, had hail, lightning and torrential rains. Needless to say, not a lot of sleeping last night so I'll be in the bed early. The temp went from 72 yesterday to 37 right now. Winds are still really bad and my hands hurt from gripping the wheel on the way home.

Tammy glad you have a diagnosis for Becca. Preservatives in prepackaged cookies cause me to have severe headaches. Not the prepacked cookies that come in big packs, just the little snack sized bags, crazy I know. Hope you can figure out what is triggering hers AND it's not something that she just loves.

MEDS are here! I took my first dose at 1:30 p.m. I'm hopeful. Even though I know it will take a bit of time to build up. And yes, depression is very hard to live with. I've had chronic depression for most of my adult life (probably related to the immense amount of pain I have to endure (physically) and from my ex (emotionally-LOL).

Here's a LO I started earlier this month but I needed to scan in the photos. I was scanning some stuff for the boys' schoolwork project so decided to do these too. This is for the sketch and digi challenge.

NEW YEAR'S EVE getting a few things done around the house but don't want to push it. Have to run out and make some copies in a few for the kid's projects. I hate that they waited til the night before....argh!

hey girls!
I've actually been a bit busy this week. Haven't even had a chance to scrap during the week. Crazy weather here - we were up to 75 & sunny on Monday, then woke up to snow and a high of 24 today Totally messing with my sinuses, so I felt horrible today.

Good news is I had an interview today and I feel like it went really well. I'm one of 12 candidates, but she said that some were no-shows for their interviews, so that improves my chances! She will be calling at the end of the week or beginning of next week for 2nd interviews, so keep your fingers crossed for me!

Hoping to scrap a bit tomorrow, but I have a few other things I need to do. Blah!

Hope you're all having a good week!

MONICA B good luck getting a second interview. Yes I understand, the weather is wonky. We had a really cold snap, now it's raining and cool. I don't much care for winter weather.

Here's one more I finished today while helping the boys with their 3D models for geometry. They have no idea how lucky they are to have a mom who's into crafting...supplies, adhesives, good scissors,...and willing ot help. Of course they were supposed to start this project a month ago and it is due tomorrow...and they started it tonight! BOys!

I already feel better (still quite stiff) but feel more energy. Could all be in my head, but either way, it's a good thing. I stayed up all evening and helped the boys.

I am tired now but not that horrible exhaustion I've been feeling. So I suspect some of the inflamation is going down. Hope I can move tomorrow. LOL I may have overdid tonight.

So I managed to scrap 22 pages this month despite the fact I felt awful...CHA really helped.

Hi Melanie - Good to see you again! Good luck with the antique hunting. I'd love a Kindle but it is just out of budget right now. (Though I did get a note about my tax rebate this year yesterday and it's more than I was expecting) It'll have to go to paying bills but I want to use a little for scrappy stuff- I deserve a treat after being so good these past months (or so I'm telling myself)

Nylene

the Golden Rule of Organizing: If you don't have a place to put it - DON'T bring it home!
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I know it is serious, but that would stop all my scrappy spending! You see, the problem with scrapping is that everything goes into my scraproom and just changes shape. Nothing ever leaves! Just more and more albums!

Haha - that's most of us, if you get really technical... But it is 'used' if it is in an album!

Theresa - Whew, glad everyone is okay. I remember that photo you posted last year of a tornado and it looks frightening.

Debi - Yay for meds! Hope they kick in soon.

Monica - That sounds very positive about the interview. Can't magine applying for a job and not showing for the interview, though? Why apply then? Anyway, it improves your chances. "Holding thumbs"

Not much going on here today. Need to go to the bank and send a few e-mails before collecting kids and work this afternoon, but it seems life is finally settling down into a routine. Thank goodness. I'm tired of feeling like I'm doing crisis management every day.

Have a great day and remember: Tomorrow is FRIDAY!

morning, girls -

I've got to run because I've spent some time praising, and gladly can say (except for Debi's last two she put up) I'm all praised up!

Debi - Did you get my e-mail? If not, I'll check for an answer tonight when I get home from school and send it again.

Have a super-de-duper day, girls.

TONI I DID NOT get your email. Can you send again please. debi_schroder at hotmail dot com. Ok? Thanks.

Meds are kicking in. Yay! I slept 5 hrs in a row last night (first time since before December) and just having more rest helps. I didn't toss and turn all night either so more restful sleep. The kicker is that the boys didn't set their alarm and we got up an hour late...with only 10 minutes to get out of the house, we barely made it to school on time. No packed lunches today...they will have to suffer through school food.

We stayed up til 10:30 working on their Archimedeean Semi Regular Polyhedra Models...but they came out great and the boys did stay focused throughout the whole project. A lot to do in one evening and of course my printer ran out of ink, and the copy store was closed so we had to make due. I'll be doing a page on their models soon.

Any more challenge submissions? send to my peamail or email me, ok? EVERYONE is welcome to send in a challenge if you want. I'll be working on the new thread tonight. Nylene do I send you the thread or do you copy and paste from the thread to do the blog link? I've gotten a challenge from DIANA, THERESA, DEBI, MONICA B so far.

Ok off to scrap, then clean, then grocery shop, then probably collapse in a pile. LOL

Uuuuuuuuuuuuuuuugh. I've been so sick. Yesterday I had both a migraine and the flu. Complete with vomiting. (Very traumatic for 4 year old to listen to mommy do that.) Flu symptoms have subsided, but headache remains. (Remember on Monday when I said this was gonna be a good week?! ) Stuart was home yesterday and is home again today because we don't have anyone to take care of the girls when I'm sick.

The only up side to being sick like that is that Julia (DD1) takes such good care of me. She wrote me notes, made me cards, brought me water to drink. She also brought me her Tinker Bell snow globe to make me feel better (the music made me want to stab myself in the head, but it's the thought, right? )

Tina -- I'm thinking of Olivia today.

Mary Jo -- I had to laugh at your comment about all the things you were trying to juggle including painting the kitchen. We painted our kitchen last year. And by that I mean it took me ALL YEAR to paint. We stripped the cabinets, painted the walls, everything. Never again.

Cathy -- What a traumatic way to start your weekend! I'm glad the rest of the trip was more fun than the beginning. And I'm really glad you had no weather-related problems.

Theresa -- I broke out in a sweat just reading your description of the weather. I guess you can't just stay home when it's like that. I'm sure my hands would have been sore also!

Debi -- Hooray for meds! So glad you are on your way to feeling better!! I'm not sure, but I've been told, that children do not appreciate what their parents do for them until they have children of their own. *sigh*

Toni -- does that mean you won't lose your job this year? Fingers crossed for that. I sure hope that email you are trying to send Debi is a sketch challenge. I sure would miss having one of those.

Tammy -- I'm glad they gave you a diagnosis for Becca. Hopefully it helps all of you rest a little easier knowing it's not more serious and the testing is done?? I hope you guys can figure out her triggers. I know her misery, especially today. I pop a pill ASAP when pain starts. It's the only way.

Monica -- fingers crossed ("Hold thumbs" ) for a 2nd interview. Hope you're feeling better. Y'all have some CRAZY weather on the other side of those Rocky Mountains!!

Nylene -- was it you that said you lost 43 lbs?! Congratulations!! That is impressive. I've been running (a lot) for 8 months and I haven't lost 1/2 of that!

I doubt I'll get to do any more challenges in time for this month. , but I will probably go back and do them anyway...I've been pondering my OLW and am thinking I should at least do the LO.

OK, nap time. I'm almost 100% and I need to take advantage of daddy being home.

Just a quick run-by!

Theresa, I watched the news about your tornado and worried about you. Saying prayers for all of those through the midwest who had such awful weather conditions. We had a huge snowstorm, but today it's warm enough to melt the ice from the sidewalks. We still have close to 12" on the grass and huge piles on the edges of the road. Hugs to you.

Gotta run, but will be back.

PRAISEMARK!

Hi Everyone,

Debi - I am SOOOOO glad you finally got your meds and that you are already beginning to feel better.

Tammy - how's your wrist? Was it you that said chocolate helps Becca overcome her migrains? My brother gets migrains and chocolate is what sets them off! I hope Becca can figure out what her triggers are.

Theresa - I'm so glad the tornado missed you! Yikes!

Monica - good luck with your job hunt, I hope you get that second interview.

Barbara - so sorry you've been sick, I hope you feel better soon!

Debi - I sent you an email too, but you must not have gotten it...

In spite of not being able to work on my pet book (until I scan the photos), I have managed to do some scrapping. I made a pretty page as a thank you gift for the people we stayed with last weekend. I put it in a shadow box. I think it came out nice, I hope they like it.

I LIKE giving scrap pages as gifts!

I did buy a photo scanner to convert my pictures to digital - now I just need to figure out how to use it! I hope it goes FAST. If every pic takes 30 seconds, I'll NEVER get done.

Nylene - as someone else said, if you USE a paper or embellishment, that's good! Using something for it's intended purpose is being organized!

To elaborate on the Golden Rule of Organizing - the first thing you need to know is that I made it up. I have worked as a Professional Organizer for many years now, but I'm not 'registered', I've never taken a class, I'm not affilliated with any organization - I just call myself a Professional Organizer and people pay me to help them declutter their houses! Well, they used to pay me - I haven't worked much the past few years. Partly because of the lousy economy, partly because my mom was sick and I needed to be with her a lot (she's much better now), and to be blunt, partly because I just don't need the money. (Can I say that here without offending anyone? I see people struggle so hard, I feel sort of guilty because we are comfortable...) I LOVE organizing, I would do it for free, and have. I've volunteered my services at several social organizations and will do it again, now that Mom is healthier.

Now you know I'm only a Professional Organizer because I call myself one, so take any advice I give accordingly!

I have figured out that by 'praise' you mean that you look at everyone's posted LO pics and comment on them. Right? Do you look at just the Chatty Scrappers or ALL Peas? What does 'Praisemark' mean?

I'm going to go and see if I can figure out the photo scanner - wish me luck!

Cathy, praise marker means we've praised the layouts that have been posted on our thread. Good luck with your new "toy" hope you can figure out how to use it.

Snowing here now, really big pretty flakes. It depends on what newscaster you listen too and how much accumulation we'll get, we could get from 1/2 to 4 inches of snow. Have to go to Madisonville instead of Owensboro tomorrow morning, much better roads and closer. Will be super busy there though unless we have cancellations due to the weather which since we only go there two times a month I doubt we'll have. Figure they'll just all be late!

Forecasters were wrong again, at least for here. Barely anything on the ground and according to the radar, the snow is done. Will keep dropping in temperature so the roads will be slick in the morning but at least they won't be slick with 4 inches of snow on top!

TONI I don't know why you can't email me; that is the correct address as long as you use an underscore and not a hyphen. Just for future reference I don't like listing my email all together in a thread because it makes it too easy to find it and start sending spam. So if you wouldn't mind, could you edit your post and separate it out with spaces and words (dot) or delete it all together? Thanks. Since I had not problem getting email from DIANA maybe you could email her and have her try to email me? I don't know what else to suggest as my email seems to be working fine. You could post your challenge in Feb's thread and I can copy and add it to the first post....

CATHY I haven't seen an email from you either, just the one peamail asking me for my email address. Please try again. You guys are making me wonder what's up.

THERESA so glad you weren't in the tornado path. we sure have had some strange weather.

BARBARA so sorry you are dealing with migraine and vomiting (although those 2 can go hand in hand). Nice your dd is trying to take care of you.

I have had more energy today. It's a nice change. But I think I overdid it. I scrapped a page, then cleaned the upstairs bathroom, cleaned the kitchen, cleaned out the refrigerator, took out garbage, yardwaste, recycle, took down my Christmas tree (yes I said Christmas tree) put away all the ornaments, wrapped the lights (that took forever) and took apart the tree and put it into it's box. I filled about 5 other boxes with various Christmas decor. No I'm not done with Christmas yet. But I made a good start. I also went to the grocery store, fixed dinner for the kids and their overnight friends, wrapped a birthday present, put out all their snacks for the night and called my mom. I'm tired, a little sore, but I'm not exhausted. However I am sitting in my room with my new best friend, the warm blannket, and listening to the boys play. They finally stopped the nerf gun wars (yay) and are now playing risk. I may watch a movie on the laptop or read. I'm done for the day. I don't want to push myself any harder, I might break. LOL

CATHY there is no shame to being financially comfortable. Kudos to you. And yes some of us are struggling (I am one) but that is no reason to downplay your good fortune.

I can't remember anything else and I need to work on Feb's thread post so have a great night.

Debi

Debi -

Sooooo sorry. Didn't even think about the spam effect. I deleted the post. Hopefully not too late.

I'm going to have to see what I can do about this...sigh.

Well, I sent it again. I didn't get an "undeliverable" e-mail this last time, so I'm hoping it worked. Let me know.
