I don't understand taking pictures of food and I don't understand scrapping food. I do understand cakes and decorated cookies. Other than that, do you scrap/photo food?

I take pics of food all the time. If I cook or bake something that I think is fabulous I gotta take a pic! I can't think of anything that I have scrapped unless it is friends/family having the food. My avatar is a bunch of fresh tomatoes that I grew in my back yard. I guess I just can't seem to help myself!!!

Yes I do, especially if I cooked it and it's something I haven't cooked before. Cooking is creative WORK, and then it's GONE. (Like a snowman?)

If you are lucky you get a "thank you" for your efforts.

We love talking about what we had to eat on someone's special birthday or a holiday from previous years! Scrapbooking photos of that day's food would be a great way to continue enjoying that great meal.

Yep! We do it all the time. Especially if we are on vacation and are having something special.

Not recently, but I have taken pix of appetizers we were about to eat at New Year's Eve or on other special occasions in past years.

I have scrapped lots of food photos. Mostly stuff from vacation or new recipes Ive tried. And lots of photos of family gatherings and the food we enjoyed.

Food is so much a part of our everyday lives. My Project Life albums have included a number of food-related photos, and I did a week (inspired by Ali Edwards) in my 2012 album where all my photos were of food, and it was fascinating to see how those 7 photos told the story of our week. I added a "menu" journaling card to explain each photo. I am not a chef (my husband does most of our cooking), but I love reading magazines like "Every Day with Rachael Ray", which some people call "food porn" , and I thought I'd see if I could get that tempting feel with my photos. My favorite photo was the one of the hamburger and macaroni I had for lunch on Monday. You can see the results here: http://www.carmenpaulsorthner.com/2012/06/21/sharing-a-bit-of-project-life/. I have also scrapped photos of food from special occasions, and have chronicled my efforts to become a better baker.

Carmen.

I actually wish I take more pictures of everyday food so we can remember years from now what we were eating. I have done layouts about my favorite types of foods. I do find it intimidating taking pictures of food, especially in a restaurant, but it is a fun subject for me to scrap.

I always take pics of everything we eat on vacation and post in my trip reports on the travel sites I am also a member of. In those forums, inquiring minds want to know when planning their vaction destinations and meals.

I have done several food/bar tours while on vacation and I do scrap those photos as part of our vacation activities. I don't scrap just general food photos that I take while on vacation.

I have several examples in my gallery here.

Every cruise album and every trip album ALWAYS feature a food porn page. I'm old. It's the only way I'd remember.

Sometimes I photochop 4 2x3 photos onto one so the page will hold more, sometimes I make a collage photo, sometimes I punch out 3x3 squares, sometimes cut hexagons so they'll interlock, but ALWAYs food.

My SIL had a similar comment about people posting food on facebook lol.. so I promptly post a picture from our tailgate of chocolate covered bacon. lol

I don't scrap food much unless there is a story to go with it (making gingerbread houses, or my dh getting a smoker for fathers day) but in PL I do include food occassionly. And the reason is food is an important part of family life. Its a time that once a day we come together. But also over the years our menu has changed. When the kids were young there was alot more "finger food" (hot dogs, carrot sticks, apple slices) now that we are empty nesters we eat asparagus and steak and lobster. We have more time and money to create meals rather than just serve them. And who knows 20 years from now maybe food will come prepared differently???

I snap photos of special food. My dining hall has make-your-own pasta Wednesdays, which I FLIP for. Just tonight we had pizza from my favorite pizza place, which I have about once a year... if that.

I have scrapped food on occasion. Oldest DS got me hooked on Sushi and I scrapped one of our sushi lunches, a new sushi place opened with absolutely gorgeous presentation and I scrapped that. I also scrapped my garden. I have also scrapped birthday dinners - it's all part of our every day life and I am working more on scrapping every day life and not just special events.

I love taking photos of food. It doesn't move and is more cooperative than people! I have done layouts about my love for sushi (something I said I'd NEVER eat) as well as my love for baking and cooking.

All the time. Meals to remember, recipes that I tried and loved (I use photos in my recipe book) and treats that I made. I think my December Daily had four or five photos of food in it. Photos of food are just another memory prompt for me.

We have lots of family get togethers where we all cook so yes, I do scrapbook lots of pictures of food.

I am going to start taking more photos at our favourite restaurants too.
I am guilty of posting photos on Facebook, usually when I have cooked something new - just printed some photos of my Vietnamese roast pork/rice paper rolls.

And some because they are traditions - Sushi Saturday, because I always go and get my favourite sushi every week for lunch!

I think back on all the meals my Mum used to make and would love to have photos. Even looking at the party food in childhood photos brings back great memories - stoplight sandwiches, jelly oranges, butterfly cupcakes.

Food - the preparation of, enjoyment of, and traditions behind are so much a part of most of our lives that I cannot understand not wanting to remember it.

My great gram has been gone 30 years. I can still recall her "icebox cookies." I wish I had a photo of her making them - or the cookies and the story behind them.

My kids know that daddy's favorite cookie is a certain recipe we make often. I should scrap that.

Re: FB. I've been inspired to try new recipes - and restaurants - after seeing others share their photos.

I do if there's a story I want to tell. Like going out to a hibachi grill with friends (we used to do it fairly regularly), or making and leaving surprise cookies for DH and then he surprised me when I came home, or our first Christmas in our house, which was all takeout because we didn't have a fridge yet, etc.
