I have been trying to get a good snowflake shot ever since I got the macro lens last year, it took me this long to finally get one I am happy with.

I know, I was so excited when I saw the one had actually landed like that, then I had to be really careful not to breathe on it. |

Great shot Lori ! It's so neat that it is on it's side like that.
I have a snowflake too.
The plastic variety.
Anyway, it is sparkly so into the lot it goes.

Thank you for choosing me and for all the nice comments.
For those wanting to know how I got it, well...it wasn't easy and it took me awhile. I waited until the snow had almost stopped and was just blowing around. Then I put the blanket out on the banister of my porch and kept checking for any real snowflakes and not just the clumps. I took shots of 3 that had landed flat, then went to shovel, and when I came back up on the porch I noticed that this one had landed straight up, I ran in and grabbed my camera, with the Tamron 90 macro attached, you have to use a macro for snowflakes. Even with the macro it took me several attempts to get it, and this is cropped as well, because it was a tiny snowflake. Honestly, you just have to have a lot of patience and persistence to work with snowflakes.
I need to think on what I'm gonna choose, so I'll get the next challenge up by the end of the weekend. Thank you all again |
