Hi girls!

Finally! Weekend! And what a week it has been...To make a long story (very) short: i quit my job today and will start with a new one on the first of march And after all this I'm exhausted! Think I'll be in bed early tonight and hopefully feel better tomorrow.. Energized for our crop

Anyway.. Just checked what you guys have been up to this week Saw a lot of great layouts, some new questions to answer and even more new people joining in this fun thread

For all new people: I'm Dieuwertje (Dee), 26 years old (27 in a few days) and I'm from the Netherlands. I live together with my fiance in an appartment in the city I (of course) love to scrap, love pictures, love food and hanging out with family and friends Can't wait to get to know you all!

@ Camille: find it hard to categorize Homeland.. I'd say more drama than thriller..

@ Rach: Loved Millies dress on sunday! Supercute

And now on to those questions:

Getting to Know You #3

7. Do you like your handwriting?
Not really.. But it's not so bad that I don't want to use it on my layouts

8. What trends/techniques are you loving in scrapbooking right now? love camera's

9. Are you doing Project Life this year? Why? or Why Not?
No, won't do it in 2013.. Still got half a year of 2012 to finish

Getting to Know You #4
A./10 When do you find time to scrap? Weekday? Weekend? AM? PM?
Weekends most of the time AM/PM/all day.. really depends

B./11 What's your scrapbooking uniform? (There was a thread going on the last few days arguing the benefits of wearing a bra, LOL!)
sweatpants, tee, fuzzy socks and sweater from my fiance

C./12 Do you find it hard to scrapbook Birthdays?
Have never done one.. But wouldn't mind

I'm off to make dinner.. Will pop in later

Christina, I've known him since 3rd grade... we grew up together.

I totally want to scraplift that page by you too Christina so cute!!!
My scrappy friends call me the "stripper" because I always use strips of paper on my pages like you did in that LO. Super cute!!

A. When do you find time to scrap?
Ummm never! Ugh. I usually scrap the most at events weather it's my girls getting together to scrap or at an actual paid event. I usually make cards at home when I have time but actually scrapbooking usually happens at events. :/

B. What's your scrapbook uniform?
In the summer time I rarely ever wear a bra. Scrapping or not. But I don't have an "outfit" usually just a dress and I always throw one of my hundreds of aprons on =)

C. Do you find it hard to scrap birthdays?
Birthdays is actually how I started scrapbooking!! So no not really.

Dee, YOU QUIT YOUR JOB!!? What? So do you have from now until March not working? or will you be finishing up the last one? I hope you get a chance to relax for your birthday weekend!!

Laura, I'm jealous of your scrapping friends I was telling my sister about the YSers this morning. I feel a little silly having people I've never met as some of my closest friends, but hey! They are real people - so real friends and I'm glad to have them!

How cool is this Rachel!!?

Dee: WOW! That is so cool! Thanks for showing me- I would never have seen that! What a day brightener!

Mille and I are home- we got a dusting of snow this morning, then it was sleeting for about an hour. So we are all bundled up and not going anywhere for the rest of the day!

A. When do you find time to scrap? Weekday? Weekend? AM? PM?
Weekends- when I have someone to hold Millie!

B. What's your scrapbooking uniform? (There was a thread going on the last few days arguing the benefits of wearing a bra, LOL!)
Whatever I am wearing at the time!

C. Do you find it hard to scrapbook Birthdays?
Yes- because I forget to take pictures.

Laura: sadly no I was busy with school and bf to scrapbook at the time. I hope you are able to find something because the city is so big. Heck if I lived their still I probably wouldn't have time to scrapbook. Lol. I miss it! Eat a slice of pizza for the hungry preggo friend in boring Oklahoma.

Johanna: I see you are in Pensacola. My father was born and died there and I enjoyed going there to visit him when he lived there and was alive. How do you like it? There are lots of good places to go fishing if you like that stuff and of course the beach is good too.

Monica: good luck on the interview.

Rachel: that's awesome news about your layout bet that made your day even better.

Loni: have fun with the family this weekend.

A. When do you find time to scrap? Weekday? Weekend? AM? PM?
Depends. I usually find more time on Friday night

B. What's your scrapbooking uniform? (There was a thread going on the last few days arguing the benefits of wearing a bra, LOL!)
Shorts and a shirt or if it's really cold sweats

C. Do you find it hard to scrapbook Birthdays?
Only my own because for some reason I never get any pictures of me on my birthday. Hoping to changing that.

Happy Saturday All!

Still suffering from a headache from yesterday evening so I know today is going to be one of those days. Only 24 (or less depending) and I can have my body back and I can hold my precious bundle. Excited because time is starting to move.

Probably no scrapbooking will get done this weekend and I doubt I will get on much so I hope everyone has as a good weekend.

A. When do you find time to scrap? Weekday? Weekend? AM? PM?
I take a few minutes here and there to run downstairs and scrap. Usually like 15 minutes some mornings, once in a while on the weekend and a little longer in the evenings.

B. What's your scrapbooking uniform?
Usually Pj's haha so I guess I'm usually in the "not wearing a bra when I scrap" group too lol

C. Do you find it hard to scrapbook Birthdays?
Not really, I don't scrap every birthday but if I have pictures with a story I'll scrap it. No birthday themed products for me though please.

Also, cute pages Rach!

Laura, that's so cute that you grew up together how long have you two been "together"?

I've been working on one page for 3 days, I wasn't happy with it at first but I kept adding stuff (and now it's soo heavy Loni ) but I'm a little happier with it. I'm not sure if i should just give up and say it's complete or keep putting stuff on...

I miss my scrapping friends. They are all in CA and I moved out here to NYC last October. But yes I was very lucky to have them. I was the youngest...everyone was either in their 30s or over 45 and I started scrapping with them when I was like 18 I think. And theres nothing about having close friends with the YS girlies its like a modern day pen pal you know.

Elizabeth
I'm thinking about starting a NYC scrappers group to see if I can collect some girls out here to scrap with. I will for sure have some pizza for you tonight! Also don't down Oklahoma! You're the state everyone uses as a stereotype, gotta appreciate that

Christina
We officially got together last May. He was home on leave from Japan and about to transfer to Italy and I had just graduated.

Also Christina I totally add layers on layers to my pages sometimes. I like that Loni the "weigh it" haha

Monica
So awesome about your interview!! I went on 6 last week and have 3 next week...I'm a Graphic Designer so I have a lot of interviews because most of the jobs are just a freelance project and not like a full time position. Also thats freaking sweet about your Aunt!! So amazing I hope you get to meet up with her in person some day!

ALL YSers
Who's crafting this weekend? I'm making some valentines day cards for a swap I found on meet up out here. I'm also making my own little valentines to send home. I'll post some photos when I'm done

Loni: yeah for movement. my headache has gotten better which is a blessing and I got to do a few things I wanted to do for me.

Laura: I'm not downing Oklahoma it's just I'm a New Yorker at heart and nothing can change that. Anyone from Oklahoma will tell you the pizza choices here are slim is all I'm saying. Lol.

Anyway I'm going to get back to cooking and family, just wanted to write this quick post.

Dee: I can't find the post where you said when your birthday was, but I don't want to miss it so saying my Happy Birthday wishes now.

It's Morning!! haha, and it's Monday. What is everyone up to this week? I'd sound like a broken record if I told you what I was doing. The same thing I do every day, Pinky.

Right now I'm taking a break from that and finishing my PL spread for last week. I had so many pictures I didn't leave much room for journaling, so I think I might use up challenge #33 and Title and embellish on a photo to finish the journaling.

(Still haven't finished that scraplift yet, but I'll show you when I do.)

P.S. Ali Edwards repinned one of my pins. Isn't that funny!?

Yes, Elizabeth, it's certainly not as easy as it was 8 yrs ago but I have to just keep going. My back is quite sore today so we'll see how it goes. Take it easy yourself!

I have a sick kiddo and need to finish the book I have a book group meeting for tonight.

Thanks for the RAK Loni! I'm curious, where is that paper from? I really love the pink one with words and the teal and yellow flowers.

Also, I just entered the MME guest designer contest with THIS LAYOUT
I think it's a great opportunity and I really wanna win, but the competition looks fierce!

Just a quick check in
I'm working from home, but have an appointment this afternoon, so having a bite before I leave for work

Turned 27 yesterday and even though my baby wasn't there I still had a good day... My parents in law visited and I went to my parents for dinner.. Was different than other years, but good

How are you all doing?

I'm thinking about participating in the Guest Designer Contest for Gossamer Blue and MME as well.. not sure yet, but would be fun to participate Anyone else participating besides Christina?

Dee: I hope you had a wonderful birthday! 27 was my best year so far! 28 is looking pretty swell too!

I have some layouts I need to put the finishing touches on and upload.

Lisa: I placed the order, hopefully our goodies will be here soon!!!
We went from snow and ice, to freezing rain, to 60F weather, now thunderstorms, and back to 30F and snow on Friday. All in a week. Crazy weather.
The old wives tales say if there is thunder in winter, snow will come within 10 days. What old wives tales or superstitions do you have?

Christina I LOVE! that LO!! It's a great submission! That pink paper is from echo park as was probablu more than half the stack I sent. I'll let you know what line if you need me to.

Rach, have you ever seen a rainbow without any rain. We call them sun dogs
they mean bitter cold weather is coming.

I'm glad you still had a good day, Dee, I would have been so sad if B was away on my bday. His bday is coming up and we are going on a cruise! I'm pretty excited.

I need some help from you ladies. I need to order supplies for my class coming up in 3 weeks. I really wanted to buy from my local craft store, but it's pretty slim pickings! What do you vote? Support them, or not?

I might do a little of both and buy a basic collection from the store and get additional pp and embellishments online. I don't know what to do!!

Monica, I want some stuff from your etsy shop for it! Should I wait for your new washi or just order now? I want some washi and doilies.

Melissa, you sound like you're having an amazing time already! And those custom stone stamps sound awesome! I can't wait to see what you make with yours! And massages for $7? I would go for one every second day

Dee, I totally think you should submit a page!

Loni, thanks so much! I really like how the page turned out. (except I made a huuuge mistake by cutting the title at the very end. I made the cut file too big and cut the last d into the picture. whoops) And no worries on the collection name! I was just wondering about the manufacturer

hey girls!
I've actually been a bit busy this week. Haven't even had a chance to scrap during the week. Crazy weather here - we were up to 75 & sunny on Monday, then woke up to snow and a high of 24 today Totally messing with my sinuses, so I felt like poo today.

Good news is I had an interview today and I feel like it went really well. I'm one of 12 candidates, but she said that some were no-shows for their interviews, so that improves my chances! She will be calling at the end of the week or beginning of next week for 2nd interviews, so keep your fingers crossed for me!

Hoping to scrap a bit tomorrow, but I have a few other things I need to do. Blah!

Melissa- Glad you are enjoying your trip! Totally jealous of the $7 massages! And the stamps sound way cool.

Loni- I'm going to add the new washi soon. I had a dilemma - there was some other washi I wanted to get from Freckled Fawn, but they sold out of it and it's been sold out forever Two Peas has 2 of the 3 colors I want, but their shipping for just 2 rolls is RIDICULOUS! So I think I'm going to forget it for now and just add the new designs I have. So hold tight!

Christina- Love your page! I think it's awesome that you are entering - can't happen if you don't at least try!

Christina, I love your paper piecing layouts, they are so fun. Who cares if you mess up a little, it builds character, right?

Monica, just let me know when you have it and I'll place the order. Thanks My class is the 21st. So the thread has been glitchy and I keep sending support tickets, but since it's the last day I suppose it doesn't really matter. If it happens again maybe we can start the new thread a few hours early?

Anyone uploading new layouts to get some last minute customer loyalty points?

Rachel, I'm placing an order on Color Me Happy today. Will you remind me of the guidelines for the CHA swap?

Who's scrapping with me tomorrow?

Hi ladies, just popping in really quick. Have been having a stressful week to say the least. Sent my man off on Sunday and had a fun evening scrapping (first time in aaaages!). Didn't get anything finished but it was fun to play with paper for a while
Then mon he called to say he hadn't been feeling great. He stayed home from work tues, went to doc tues evening, was sent to hospital ER. They released him that night but he was still In a lot of pain so I drove two hours to collect him, drove two hours back home, took him to his own doc, who sent him straight back to hospital. Very worrying at moment waiting on test results... So I am a tired girl tonight and a little emotional. Positive thoughts would be appreciated. Will let you all know any updates xx

Just popping in.

Caroline: I hope everything is okay. Keeping some positive thoughts and prayers. Glad you were able to play with your paper for a little.

Melissa: sounds like you are having a great time. Continue to enjoy it and I hope the massages were great.

Monica: fingers crossed on getting a call back. I feel you on the weather. Monday was prefect and then it turned cold out.

Hope everyone has a good weekend coming up.
