I keep hearing a buzz around town that we are going to get snow.I haven't checked it out yet. Some people say our schools are going to be closed tomorrow...guess I need to go check out the weather.

If it snowed here, all of us southern drivers wouldn't know what to do...lol... It has already rained days and days and days on end. Frustrating me, because I really wanted to finish some outside work on my house. Oh well....

Wren, feathers were "in" like 2-3 years back. I think it is funny that they are coming around again. Maybe I am just old school...HAHAHA!

BRRR!!! ITS COLD HERE! 'Bout to go eat some GUMBO!

Yes April we didn't get anything yesterday but got slammed today. The forecast was calling for it all to be south of us but GUESS WHAT! The public schools didn't get the bus kids out fast enough and had kids stranded on school buses for 3-4 hours after not having lunch. I went to pick my kids up from their school and some lady was sitting in my driveway. I was looking at the car wondering who came to visit in this weather when the lady rolled down her window and explained that she had slid into my driveway I was thankful she didn't hit my car. People are crazy in the south when it ices or snows. April you are up north of me right?

Wren, I'm right outside of Memphis, Tennessee. Not sure where that is from you. I was just scrapping away yesterday when my phone rang and it was the automated system from my daughter's school saying they were closing due to inclement weather! I was like "inclement weather???" Looked outside and it was nothing but ice!
I had no clue it was supposed to get bad! I don't watch the weather! We watch spongebob! Needless to say it was extremely slick on my way to get my daughter. Then we found out it was supposed to slam us again today and it did!! I missed my first day of classes for the semester due to this mess! Wow! I feel sorry for those poor babies stranded on that bus Be careful out there, and I hope your kiddo is feeling better soon!

Wow! I feel for all you gals who are experiencing the ice storms. I hope you all stay safe and warm! I've experienced a lot of winters, but I don't think I've ever actually experienced a real ice storm.
They don't sound pleasant at all.

I'm new to TwoPeas, so no one here knows me, but I really want to tell you all Thanks so much!! You have no idea what lifesavers each of you has been to me since I started doing swaps in October. I grew up in Utah. About 5 years ago my husband left his job to start his own insurance agency. It probably would have done well, except that shortly after he started was when the economy totally tanked. Long story short, like many, we lost everything in the end. Our fall-back plan was that he would go back to his old job because they were always hiring. Nope. Now they were in a hiring freeze. He ended up getting a job out here in California. We moved away from everyone and everything we've known and loved all our lives about two and a half years ago. It's been absolutely miserable ever since.

I hate it here so much. I hate California, this place is so screwed up. We live in a town of about 14,000 people, around 5,000 of those are inmates at the two state prisons in town. We are the largest town for an hour and a half in any direction. It totally bites the big one here. The people here are very nice, for the most part. It's not terrible, for a small community, but it's just too far away from anything. I'm a city girl, and I'm from an area where anything and everything my little heart desired was within minutes of my home. Oh, how I miss that!!

It's been so very hard to adjust to life out here. I cry all the time. The first year was the hardest though. All of our things were in storage back home. We just couldn't afford to get it out here. I just about went crazy. I had none of my scrapping supplies, none of my stitchery supplies, nothing. Finally, we were able to get most of our stuff here. Now all my crafty things are in boxes in the garage. Ugh!! But, at least it's here. I've been searching for the last year for groups to scrap with. At one time back home I was in 4 different groups that met every month to craft and swap. There's nothing here. I finally stumbled on the swapchat board here, and it was like the biggest ray of sunshine I've ever seen!! Being able to chat and do these swaps with you ladies has been such a blessing and has made me so very happy. Thank you all for giving me something to look forward to every day and making me a much happier girl!!

Hope you have a groovy day!

Oh my Jodi!!!!!!!!!! We will on ya here! Stop by any time and vent. I know what you mean about feeling isolated. My situation is not as crazy as yours, but I grew up in New Orleans where jobs, food and friends were plenteous! I loved living there and loved the city life. I married a good ole redneck and he could not find a job in New Orleans, he had a great job at Fort Polk but lived in a tiny town called Provencal...like 200 people. So, I ended up moving to the great metropolist of Provencal where everyone KNEW ME and was all up in my business...constantly calling me and dropping by. I didn't know what to think. Many times they were coming by to check me out, see where or how I lived, being nosy. Not really coming by to see me. KWIM? In fact, when we went on our honeymoon, our landlords (two old ladies) decided to check out our rental while we were gone and poked around in our stuff. I was told this by a couple of our neighbors Can't get away with anything in a small town!!!

After about a year, we decided to try to have a baby and I PUT MY FOOT DOWN! hahaha...I told him I WAS NOT GOING TO LIVE THERE and raise a kid. He was already driving an hour to work, so we moved an hour in the other direction to Alexandria, LA. Population 55k. A little bit better, but we are so spread out. This poor little town. I had to start my own scrapbooking group. Not that many show up, sometimes I show up and by myself! but I am cool with that. Time away from the kids and life for a bit.

I love 2peas! My friends don't "get" scrapbooking. The two who do scrapbook, they think I am crazy. They literally glue pictures to a page, as many as they can get, one or two stickers DONE! They never want to try anything new, they don't care about talking paper lines or embellishments....sigh....

So, here I am, in a town with no family. I have a couple friends but they live so far out, we don't get together often. We are very socially isolated and I hate it!!! We just finished a huge house remodel that has been 5 years in the making and we are about to throw the doors open wide and have our own parties....

If you ever want to "crop together" just start a chat thread here. I am usually piecing things together in the midst of studying and helping DD with homework. My study and crafroom are the same place. You may be able to start a crop at a local church or hall or something.

So....my husband works in Alexandria now and his company was bought out by GE. We are so excited about that!!! He has opportunities to work anywhere in the world. I am finishing my second bachelor's degree and hope to get my masters in Psychology counseling. They way his job path is taking him, we may be relocating. In my situation, I would welcome that! At least this time it would be an area of our CHOOSING. Hope things start to settle down.

I did not realize you were new to 2peas! We would have rolled out the big welcome wagon!

All I can say is "I know what ya'll mean!" I found 2peas by accident and have enjoyed almost every single minute of it. I slowly joined a bunch of swaps (mostly as an angel as there were a lot of flakers at that time) and my friendships have multiplied a thousand times over!! I've even actually met in person several of these fine ladies. Some of these friends I have remained in close contact with on almost a daily basis and truly feel they are lifelong friends!! Not only do we chat here, but also on fb and via texting and phone calls

I'm super fortunate that I have a good job and have the ability to travel sometimes and my hubby is very accepting to whatever I wanna do with my crafting. I'm so excited to take the trip to Arizona in April to finally meet a few more peas that I have swapped with for almost my whole time on 2peas. You just never know what 2peas friendships have in store!!

I live in eastern Oregon - the town I live in has a population of about 5000 but luckily a couple close towns are closer to 15k. Yeah, still small in comparison to some of you. Luckily I have 1 LSS who has been fortunate enough to stay in business for about 10 years but all the others have closed. The nearest "big" town is about 40 miles away and they have a Michaels, HL, and Craft Warehouse. I knew nothing about specific companies or craft lines or embellishments until I joined 2peas. None of my friends scrapbook, make cards or are paper crafty so this is where I find my friends and I love that every peafriend on here teaches me something new, whether it be about a paper line or a technique or embellies, etc.

PS girtygizmo, you should look up mykidsmomma (Lissa) sometime - I know she lives in your town. She's an awesome swapper!!

My husband said it was him or scrapbooking... so I took pictures of him packing and made the cutest page ever!

I got a pile of scrapbook supplies for my husband. It was the best trade I ever made!

girtygizmo - a Utah girl! Rosy Cheeks (my momma) and I are both born and breed Utah. We live in Orem - were are you from? Do you get back here often?

Sounds like you all are getting the huge storm we were suppose to get - that's fine you keep it
It has been pretty mild here considering we are suppose to be the great snow state and all. Don't get me wrong - we got some snow, just not much.

I am working on my project life and my PL swaps. I am really loving it!! I need to get some page dividers though - I asked for them for my bday that's coming up.

So jealous of all those gals head out to Arizona in a few months - wish we could come. Told DH maybe we should switch to a scrapbook cruise - can you believe he didn't think that sound like fun at all

Girtygizmo- I just totally blanked on your first name. LOL. I work, so I'm not home during the day, but we can always try to get together in the evenings or on a weekend. We're having a crop at church this Friday. We try and do it once a month, it's called "Scrap n Gab". It's from 6pm to midnight. I'm usually there a little early to open up and get the coffee going. It's free, you can come and go as you are able. We try to provide snacks, and coffee, or you can bring your own. We have a new group that will be joining us too. A crochet group, called "Happy Hookers", that was fun to hear our pastor announce. LOL. You don't have to go to our church to attend. It's just an opportunity for crafty people to get together and enjoy themselves. Pea mail me if you are interested in coming, it would be nice to get to know another scrapper around here.

Hahaha....made my day Lissa!

I don't know why your hubby thought a scrapbooking cruise would NOT be fun Shilo...perhaps he thought that he would NEVER see you the entire time? Hahaha.

Our scrapbooking group meets this Friday. They are in for a surprise. I have to give a speech in front of 4-5 adults and record myself and post it to youtube for my teacher. I am SAHM who has only other mommy friends with 10 kids each...so, I am going to hold my scrapbook group captive for 5 minutes while I deliver my speech to them. Sounds fun, right?

girtygizmo, I hadn't realized you were new to 2peas. Welcome to this crazy group. Wren got me sucked in and I've been addicted ever since. I love all the ladies here, they are a blast.

I'm soooo ready for the kids to go back to school tomorrow. All the ice and snow is just about gone, but rumor has it there's going to be more tomorrow.

Haha, yep, I just snuck right on in here--I can be quite sneaky at times. Ising, that is so awesome!! Congrats! I would love to do something like that. I think I could get my hubby to do that before he'd ever step foot on a scrapbook cruise!

Thanks guys for being so supportive and welcoming I don't know you, but I love you all. Lissa, I so want to join you this friday, but I can't this time. I actually saw the posting on Susanville Needs (I love the Happy Hookers name! I'm hoping that someone can help me learn to crochet and knit too!) I can't wait to meet you!!

Shilo, I am from Lehi--yeehaw! I love, love Lehi. I grew up there. In fact, I remember going and watching some of the filming of Footloose way back when Good times. I can't even begin to tell you how very much I miss walking out my door and seeing Mt. Timpanogas! I go home every summer for a few weeks and throughout the year as often as I can, and I know I'm home when I come around the point of the mountain and see those gorgeous peaks. Most beautiful sight in the world for me! I really never knew how much I loved it there until I moved away. I'll be back for good someday though, and I can't wait.

It makes me feel better to hear that I'm not the only one who struggles with the small town setting. I know that so many people just love it and wouldn't live anywhere else, but it is so not for me. I also never knew how much of a city girl I really was until this move. I honestly thought I would handle it better, but nope! Guess you learn something new every day

I'm looking forward to getting to know all of you better and I hope that I can have the opportunity to meet some of you someday too. That would be so fun. I would love to have you as my facebook friends too. I would include the link, but I am completely clueless as to how to do that! You can search for me though I guess. I'm Jodi Johnson Colledge. Good Luck!

I hope you all have a great night and I hope we all have a nice warm day tomorrow!!!!

Hope you have a groovy day!

girtygizmo - Lehi is so close!! I do love those mountains, I would miss those too. Next time you are here we will have to get together for a little scrapping

Andrea - Vegas! How fun!! I have been there several times. I love the Venetian, the canals in the bottom are so fun. DH loves the stratosphere we go to the top, he rides all the rides and I pretend I am not afraid of heights haha. Rosy and my dad went there for their 30th anniversary and totally did the Elvis vow renewal thing...She has a pic I should get her to post You will have to share lots of pics!!

I hear ya Meleah! Lol...I have probably 200 or so in a huge ziploc on my desk from the last twinchies swap I hosted. The ones I didn't frame, I randomly stick in a card here and there. trying to use some in PL right now.

I was in Utah 2 years ago in the south at lake Powell. We tried doing the 4 corners thing but they were closed. Beautiful state!

I SOOO want to see Rosie's pictures! So fun!

Andrea, how fun for you and your DH! I can't wait to see your pictures and hear your stories! You make me laugh daily

I see a lot of new faces and I think that's great. For those who don't know me, I used to host quite a few swaps and was pretty active in other ladies swaps as well. The last 2 swaps I hosted where in July. After they were finished, I took a break. Life just got the better of me. It still isn't the way I would like it to be but I'm trying my hardest to make the best of it.

The ladies that I have gotten to know here are some of the sweetest, kindest people I have ever *met*. Some in real life and others just thru cyber space or texting. I've missed you all and am glad to be back.

I know a few local ladies who scrap but we never get together to crop. One works at my LSS (which is 30 seconds from my house) so I go up and chat with her once a month or so. I'm at SAHM but I also work for a friend who owns her own children's consignment sales. I get crazy busy working for her about 5 months out of the year. I get to work at home which is nice since 2 of my kiddos are still in school. Winter is the only slow season for me.

I'm supposed to be working on a blank Disney album that I'm donating to a Silent Auction for marching band. In December, I was a chaperone who went to Orlando with the marching band and my yongest DS. It was so much fun. They got to march in the first parade at Magic Kingdom one morning and they also marched in the Citrus Parade. We hit 4 theme parks, Kennedy Space Center, Cocoa Beach as well. Spent New Year's Eve at Epcot. That was beyond crazy. Anyways, I'm making a book so that someone can just go in and stick their pictures down. I saved a lot of the brouchers and maps from the different parks. I have a concept in my head, just need to start working on it since the auction is next month!

So nice to meet you Gus Gus! What a fun trip!! I hope you post pics of the album when you get it done! Someone is going to be very lucky to get that!

Shiloh, I would love to do some scrapping with you when I go back home!! That would be so fun.

Utah is very beautiful, but I'm totally biased and utterly homesick I lived there all my life and I have never been to lake Powell or went skiing!! Kind of crazy since it has the 'greatest snow on earth'. Haha!! I do, however, absolutely love Zion's national park and Bryce Canyon. Both are so gorgeous. Nature is truly amazing!

Hope you have a groovy day!

It's great to hear everyone's stories. Glad to know I am not the only one who's friends do not understand my scrapping. I have one friend who scraps kinda like your friends Ising. Stick 5 pictures on a sheet of white cardstock, stick a Jolee's sticker in the corner and call it finished.
Since I have started hanging out on here I have been able to talk about new lines, learn new techniques and try things I wouldn't have tried normally.

Everybody here is wonderful.

I hope you have fun on your trip to Vegas Andrea.

I am actually about to surprise my husband with a Valentines/Birthday/Anniversary trip to the Smokey Mountains. February 6th is his B-Day, The 11th our 11 yr. anniversary (together, not married) and the 14th well of course Valentines. We are going Hiking and staying in a Log Cabin in a Valley outside Johnson City. YAY!!!

GirtyGizmo- Sorry to hear about your problems in your new town. Hopefully you will get used to it eventually and you always have the Peas!

So, I am doing my first PL page this week. The first one I will actually complete that is. I want to do one week a month and put it in with my normal 12x12 pages. So wish me luck.

Hey Ashley! It's good to see you again!

I just popped on here real quick to say that I am going to start putting "Open" and "Closed" on any of my swap threads from now on. We used to do this, but it has gotten lost. There are a lot of new people visiting and they are having a hard time knowing which swaps are open or closed. Thought I would help them out!!! I'm going to hop on the computer later and change mine.

I had to paint some exterior fascia boards today on my house. The city Historic Preservation Commission notified us that they selected us to receive the February Preservation in Progress Award. They're coming to take pics in 2 weeks !!! so I had to hop on a ladder while it was 68 today and do some touch up painting.

Talk to you all more tomorrow...right now it's time to get ready for Downton Abbey!!!!

I always enjoy reading what everyone is up to. I guess I am more of a "lurker" than a "talker", but I do understand the lonely in your town scenario. I have moved 13 times in the last fifteen years, I just get used to a place and then we have to move. It used to be easier when my daughter was in school, as I always just got active in her school stuff, but now she is grown up and lives on the east coast. We are in Michigan, just me and my DH and two cats. We actually have lived here for a record two years this month. I do belong to two cardmaking groups, but not really close to any of the ladies in the groups, but at least I get to do something I enjoy. Also, I have found Michigan goes into hibernation mode in the winter, nothing much happening!

Hello Ladies! I am new to 2peas, but I am having so much fun. I have joined a couple of swaps and a secret pals listing, so I am staying busy. I have been a scrapper for years, but have never been on a chat board before.
Right now I am working on twinchies. I was new to this art form but am totally hooked now. I am also working on some fun page layouts for a swap. My son and I took a trip to Europe this summer so I have been working on scrapbooks for the two of us.
I am looking forward to making some new friends on here. Wishing you all a great week,
Shannon (Counselor58)

I too am pretty new to peas, and I am already hooked. I check 2 peas before facebook every day,
lol!! The peas on here are so super nice and friendly, I am just amazed. I've been scrapping for all my life, and I love it.

I am starting PL this year, and I am sooo excited! I feel like its a great way to get our everyday life scrapped. Most pages I have been doing the last couple years have been using my professional family pics...this is a way for me to get in the spilled cereal, piled up laundry, silly moments we have every day. I have 3 boys: 2 months, 2 years. And 3 1/2.

I look forward to meeting new friends and joining more swaps!

What are twinchies?? I've seen a few posts about them, but don't have a clue what they are.

Hi mamaofdudes!! Twinchies are 2x2 inch little works of art. We have done several swaps making them over the past couple of years. They are really fun and quite easy to make. They can be used alone (framed is adorable!!) or used on cards or scrap pages as embellishments.

I'm starting a project this week making a 6x6 canvas for a friend at work that is going to auction them off as a fundraiser for some group she belongs to (don't have all the details but she "roped" me into doing one). Now I have been exploring the web for ideas and I'm all gung-ho to get started on mine!! I made a She Art project with another pea when I met her IRL and love it so I'm thinking of doing something like that. I forgot the canvas at work (50 miles away) and am chomping at the bit to get to working on it!!! I also have my gd's 1st b/d scrapbook I'm trying to work on. Kinda hard to work on anything on my weekends off as we like to have our oldest gd here to visit and she will be 2 y/o next month...and nothing scrappy ever gets worked on... she is into everything!! Always on the go! LOL

My husband said it was him or scrapbooking... so I took pictures of him packing and made the cutest page ever!

I got a pile of scrapbook supplies for my husband. It was the best trade I ever made!

Andrea, that is awesome. Getting the preservation award. I couldn't imagine having someone photograph my place.

Heres a question for y'all- Have you ever attempted a round robbin page swap? Each person selects a photo that they want to scrap but are having trouble wirh, makes a copy and selcts a neutral background paper. You then send this out to a to the first person on your list etc. That person adds a little and passes it on. After a couple of weeks you get the LO back finished. It works best with small groups. (Around 5 people) It seems like it could be fun but also a little intimidating to keep everyones pages going back and forth. Maybe everyone could send to the hostess and the hostess could send them all out to the next person. Each peson taking 1 week to work on the pages and send them to the next person on the list. Just thinking out loud here. If you have done this how did it work/turn out?

I think they used to do things like that here. I have not seen one in 2 years or more. Unfortunately, the round robin stuff phased out because there will always be one person who does not return the item (circle journal, layout or box of goodies). So, I am sure people may be inteterested, but that has been a problem (not getting your stuff returned).

Thanks Ashley! I painted most of the day Tuesday and yesterday. I hope it is good enough for photos now....<<<<Exhausted! If you want to try your hand at some round robin stuff, go right ahead,. I was not trying to discourage you, rather just let you know why they phased out.

Oooh I'm so excited! Steven just finalized our plans for our Vegas vow renewal. We are going to have Elvis renew our vows and sing to us. I just ordered my dress. I can't wait for some time away!!!

Hope everyone is having a great week!!!!

I have been kind of a lurker on this board reading everyones post but not posting myself.

GirtyGizmo welcome to twopeas. I signed up about a year ago but have only been active on the boards since last summer. The ladies here have been really friendly.

Andrea the Vegas vow renewal sounds awesome! Are you wearing your blue suede shoes? We live within driving distance of Graceland and I suggested we go there one time and my children ages 12-6 had no idea who Elvis was or why we would want to visit his "house". My nine year old son finally recalled having seen something about him on television once!

Andrea...wow! That sounds like so much fun!!

As for the Round Robin thing... we had a box of scrappy goodness that started and then someone basically kept the whole thing Then we did a Circle Journal (kinda like what you mentioned) and a few dropped out midway thru and some people NEVER got their pages back. It was very disappointing so everyone has gotten cold feet from getting burned. We do have a different group of active swappers right now so you'd have to take your chances with something like this.

My husband said it was him or scrapbooking... so I took pictures of him packing and made the cutest page ever!

That was my first thought on the round robin thing. I went to my first crop a while back and we played at our table. I don't get how some people can be like that.

Becky your canvas sounds like it will be awesome. I am always intimidated by things like that. Maybe a 6x6 would be a little less overwhelming.

Wren- Good to have you hear and "chatting". Can't wait to see your creations.

Andrea- You typing even sounds excited for Vegas. I am planning my wedding right now and I think I am in over my head.

Hello ladies!! Ashley, I would be so seriously overwhelmed if I was doing a wedding now. Pinterest has just set the bar so stinkin high!!!

A round robin sounds like so much fun, but I can see where there would be a lot of flakers. It's such a bummer that people don't follow through.

Many thanks to you all for listening to me whine and cry

Hope you have a groovy day!

Congrats Ashley!!! I love planning weddings... I should've been an event planner as that is my passion! LOL I planned my dd's wedding in about 6 weeks (before her hubby was sent to Afghanistan so did it quickly) and it turned out awesome. We didn't do anything huge; just kinda small and it was beautiful. They've been married for over 8 years now (they got married at 19 y/o). I have a sister that has had 3 weddings, with the first 2 big and she is divorced from them (still on her 3rd marriage though). I had a very tiny wedding and I'm on my 25th anniversary. So I think big and elaborate means nothing because it's money you'll never get back LOL I would rather spend the $$ on a beautiful romantic honeymoon (although I never had that either...hehehehe).

I worked on my canvas last night and I'm nearly done. Today I have to paint her hair and I'm scared to death I will mess up. It's kinda She Art style. I'm very nervous about canvas because if I mess up I can't really just toss it and start over, like we can with a piece of paper! LOL I might post a pic in my gallery when I get done...if it turns out worth a hoot

Becky I was reading your post about the weddings and honeymoon. My husbands parents and my parents offered to spend what they would on a wedding/rehearsal dinner etc... and just send us on a really awesome honeymoon. My hubby and I opted not to do that and had the big church wedding instead. After a month of planning we kind of wished we had taken them up on their offer though We have been married for almost 17 years. I got married when I was 20 yo. It will be a while before we plan any weddings. My oldest DD is 7.

I'm new to the secret sister swaps and know that some of you are signed up. What are some of your favorite swap items you like to receive?

Hey ladies!!!! Wow, if I could do my wedding over, I would probably have a small ceremony or elope and save the money...lol. I paid for it all myself. I had a lot of friends and family and they all wanted to celebrate with me, so we had a huge wedding. The only thing I enjoyed out of all of it was the pictures...sigh. Becky, you would make a great wedding planner!!!

We are renewing our vows with a cheesy Elvis wedding this weekend ON OUR ANNIVERSARY! I am so excited. It will be fun. I got my dress in today and it fits. If you guys want, I will post the link so if you would like to tune in, you can.

In the meantime, I took before and after pics on the exterior of our house. We have worked on this crazy house for almost 5 years. When I finish the floors on the interior and do some touch up work, I will post before and after of the inside. Until then, here is what we just finished. I just finished all the touch up painting outside.

Our house project

Wow Andrea! You have a beautiful southern home with wide open porches! I love it! Have fun in Vegas! You deserve it. I don't know how you do it all. Homeschool, college, renovations, family and 2peas!

If I had it to do over again I would elope and get married on a beach some where. Just my hubby, the pastor and photographer!

Becky your work is always so beautiful I'm sure you'd be an awesome event planner.

Jodi, I didn't see your comment earlier

We are in a very visible area on a State Highway with a major hospital right down the street. So, many people pass this way on a daily basis and have watched the changes. I was outside everyday from November 22nd to December 28th and I can't tell you how many people stopped by wanting to talk about the house, their memories of it, telling me that they were glad someone was saving it...etc. and etc. It is kinda neat. Someone gave me an old picture they had of the house with a horse and buggy outside. I had yet another lady stop and tell me her aunt lived here many many years (there were only 4 owners in the 100 years, not including us), and that she is going to bring by interior and exterior pics for me to copy. THAT is super exciting!!!!!!!

I am just ready to be finished.... It is not fun having three kids and always being under construction. I think my kids know how to use a paintbrush and tools just as well as I do! Ha!

I'll never forget, when Vivian was five, I found a large pink wooden barbie house at Goodwill. I was going to buy her one for Christmas, but felt lucky that I picked one up for a few bucks. So anyway, the only problem with it was that a kid wrote in the "attic" with a permanent marker. So, I primed and painted the attic back to white and it was as good as new, in perfect condition. So fast forward to Christmas, I set it out and put a tag "From Santa" and she opened it up and said "Wow, this smells like Kilz!" hahahah...uh-oh. That's sad when a five year old can identify the name of the primer you used.

Anyway...gotta go do homework!

Andrea...that is hilarious!!! And sad at the same time Oh and the stories that your house could tell if it could talk...so cool!! I want a wrap-around porch so bad...some day I will have my dh build me one. But I loved my back porch on this place. Just need one in the front so I can sit and look at the Columbia River all day (not the hillside like the back...lol) Also, I would love to have the link to your ceremony!!! How awesome!!

I know just what you mean about a big wedding is money you will never get back. I would rather save what would be spent on an elaborate wedding and put it in a savings account towards our first house.
We are having a tiny ceremony/reception in his aubts backyard with 16 people. Thats it. Close family and a couple of friends. I am doing all the planning, prepping, paying etc.

Becky-Good luck with her hair. If you mess up you could always gesso it. But I don't think you will mess it up.

Andrea- Your house is beautiful. It is so cool to see things like that. When I was in middle school, my mom and brother and me lived in this farmhouse out in the country at the base of the mountains. The house sat on 160acres. There were to old farmhouses and three old barns. In the houses there were photos f the houses and barns with horse drawn carriages. It was awesome to see the history.
