My husband ended up in the hospital in Sept. of 2011, for a total of 2 1/2 months due to what was a rare bacterial infection that cost him his esophagus and his life. Yes, he had 5% chance of living due to this unkown infection. He ended up not teaching for the full school year. Had to regain strength for his second surgery after being in the hospital for 4 weeks in a coma, on a vent, and kidney dialysis, while they scrambled to find out what was wrong! I sat next to his bed for days and prayed nonstop. Every friend, aquaintence, family member, student, coworker and doctor prayed for Jeff and our family. My faith has never been challenged as it was this past school year. I know that all things Impossible can happen with God by myside/ourside!
He had his reconstructive surgery in April,to create a new esophagus, which would eventually eliminate the food tube and boost he survived on for 7 months. That went well, but he developed a leak in the reconstructed area and ended up in the hospital for 11 days recovering from having surgery again and an open wound. I even had the honor to care for the open wound and watch the miracle of this wound healing. WOW! The human body is so magnificent!
To say the least,we have been blessed with a husband, father, son, brother, cousin, uncle, and coworker back doing all the things he had done before this all happened. He's Mr. Skinny now. One of the new titles for the two of us is: Grandpa and Grandma in April, 2013.
I am still making cards and will start scrapbooking with a new little one coming. My husband has embraced my hobbie fully....he even got me a Cricut Expression2 for Christmas! My craft room, I started making in the basement 3 years ago, is nearing completion and a place for everything.
So now I need to learn as much about my new toy. Suggestions appreciated. One question to start with: How does the wireless-digital work? I'd love to get some other dies to add to the basic I have on the Cricut now.
I ate peas with honey, I've done it all my life.
I know it sounds kind of funny, but it keeps them on my knife.
Heard it when I was in Girl Scouts as a kid.

Not sure about the wireless/digital cricut, but just wanted to say welcome back! That has sure been one amazing journey you've both been on, but glad to hear your DH is doing ok now! Hope you are too!

Wow, so sorry to hear about what you and your poor hubby have been thru. I have the dricut E2, but I have never hooked it up to my computer, nor done any of the cricut craft room.
